I still do not see how this is some heated discussion, as the only one saying so is you. I've simply been giving my opinion on your points; you've taken issue that my method of expression was not to your liking.

I didn't say I was reporting you or that you'd be warned, just that such behavior breeds discontent. Just because something is allowed doesn't mean it's good.

I've yet to see discontent come from me using asterisks in my posts, so I'll just have to take your word on that one. The most discontentment I've seen in this thread is when people start getting their mind twisted by half-baked "deconfirmations" with little to no basis.

Scrubbing a couple characters is a hell of a lot simpler than redesigning the whole thing.

Absolutely, toggling a layer is simple. So is adjusting a snap grid in Photoshop and moving around images. Neither of these are complicated tasks.

LeakyPandy was already cancelled by "Luigi's Mansion Kingdom DLC for Odyssey" and some other stuffs.

The reason why people believe Leaky on the Skull Kid thing is because they said it was basically 100%. No vagueness, no maybes. Completely willing to place their reputation on it. This is uncharacteristic for """leaks""" that are just guesses, as we've seen before from other leakers. If he's wrong, I will stand by while their credibility plummets to 0. And I will take that L.

This is Sakurai we're talking about and he's known to hate leaks. Remember how upset he got when people posted the Subspace Emissary online? I highly doubt that he would allow someone to post a box that leaks the final roster amount. There's no way he'd sign off on this.

Just like the character poster, the box is not the final product. It'll change with every new character we get.

I say this to every thread here - don't put stock into this box theory or set yourself up for disappointment because of it.

I felt that he either was a vehement believer of VergeBen's "leaks" or a GameFAQs guy, or perhaps even both. It's not surprising, considering that this "shantae supporter" wanted to abandon ship at every slight drop of news, good and bad, trying to twist it to make it seem that Shantae's not coming in.

Agreed, which is why I don't this person was ever a true supporter. Forcing their negativity on everyone else did not contribute anything to this thread.

I don't see how that gives them credibility? Maybe Travis Strikes Again - I remember seeing something about that - but other than that, they just guessed the direct's air date, and their "trusted sources" tell a lot of lies for the other stuff.

It doesn't. My point is simply that they've not tried to hide away from their false information (like loz18), and was oddly confident about Skull Kid. As I've said, they're actions recently speak of someone trying to fix their reputation, but if Skull Kid drops as a fighter I will stand beside you and watch LeakyPandy burn. It's simply a matter of time, and a lack of faith in a character's chances wont affect their inclusion at this point.

If they've got any sense, they've dropped those 'sources' entirely and kept the one or two that had legitimacy. Hopefully, they've obtained new sources and have set ground rules for giving out info they aren't 100% about. I'd like to think this was the most obvious course of action after the direct they ****ed up on, hence why I place at least the slightest faith in their "Skull Kid is a boss" information.

Well for me, it was either the Luigi's Mansion 3 reveal, or the fact that I can play Final Fantasy 7 on the Switch now. I'm probably the only person who liked the fact that they announced all of those Final Fantasy games, but I just love the series so darn much (especially 7).

Okay, I would say the Splatoon 2 Update, for just how anime-esque it got. Now I really want to see a Nintendo approved Splatoon anime because of it, son of a *****!
But in terms of actual games? Eh... I would say Luigi's Mansion 3 because I love me some good Luigi's Mansion fun.

I think what stood out to me the most was the insane amount of Final Fantasy(Seriously guys, that's some history they are making right there), the anime as heck Splatoon trailer, Peachette(Mainly because I love seeing people being really confused and pulling crazy theories, as well as me myself joining in on those theories), the fact that Game Freak is making something that is not Pokemon(It's nice to see companies like that make something new) and it's cool to see a new Luigi's Mansion. There was very little in the direct that I outright disliked.

Aside from both the new Luigi’s Mansion game and Yoshi game, I was surprised how much Square Enix is putting on the switch. Not gonna lie, that whole segment was making me think they were building up to reveal Geno in Smash.

I would not say I was 100% in on it, but I won't deny that I was leaning more towards it being legitimate. My request is that people stop with comments like, "It's so obviously fake," "Why would anyone believe this?" "This is so dumb, it's worse than the chair theory!"

This was not even a leak, it was a theory derived from a legitimate reveal that appeared to potentially have very real results. People brought out a lot of poor logic against it, and it really reeked of the arguments used 4 years ago against Smash 4's ESRB leak. Debate is fine, proper debate is even good, but some of these comments really weren't constructive, and I meant it when I said I was finding better maturity on GameFAQs than over here, which is really insane (granted, there was still plenty of toxicity going on over there).

tl;dr always consider other perspectives, try to identify your own biases (I still believe that the reason a lot of people didn't believe it is because they didn't want to), don't be a jerk. Not everyone was like this, but some of you were.

Since when was Rotty scary? That's exactly what she doesn't want to be. She wants to actually be accepted by people, and not be seen as another, stereotypical, terrifying zombie, she wants to be treated like a normal human being. I'm definitely a jackass, too.
However, no matter how many times we try to look at the other side of it, it's basically invisible to me. That and I feel that it would not be Sakurai if he spoiled just how much more character's we'd get from this box art. Now, I will subscribe to the idea that this package is simply a sample design that was likely designed before September 13th, that much is obvious. However, it's not necessarily a good thing to subscribe to a theory this quickly, especially if it can just as easily be broken as it could be birthed.
And no, I would not put it in the same catagory as the ESRB leaks. While both are being cried "foul ball"; with this one, it was more or less about the presentation of it on twitter, touting it as being the end-point like the E3 roster line-up. With the ESRB leaks, that was on us, through which the Little Mac meme got its origins.
Then again again, I think that's just me being my stubborn self, who really wants this to not necessarily be true to the T.

I'm gonna go against the grain here a bit and I do think the box theory makes sense, It is a good theory (more factual and analytical then all the other theories).
It's a theory I'd love to be wrong, but its something we should keep in the back of our minds during discussions.

However as far as Shantae is concerned. Please everyone remember, unless she is a AT, There is still hope. Nintendo has been really DLC friendly, as their support of Splatoon 2 is really great (both free and paid), I know it hasn't been confirmed yet, but I'd be shocked if DLC for Ult isn't a thing.

Doesn't that bundle launch November 2nd? That would have some implications, assuming (somehow) the theory is true.

There is a chance that every character will be revealed before November 2nd so they could put all the characters on it (whether it is edited for more or not).

Well, judging by my own little investigation, I believe the next Smash Direct will come out somewhere between the 24th and 31st of October. So that would fit the time frame. But the bundle your talking about is just the Smash Switch System. The one with the boxart pics is the Special Edition of Ultimate, correct? So that wouldn't come out until the 7th of December.
