SUBMIT A NON AMERICAN INDIE FIGHTER!
So far we have 3 american indie games and 1 japanese one.

With this set, I'll let a full week to make your proposals! See ya!
Pizza Tower is actually Canadian I believe. Doesn't really matter just have to nitpick haha.

Anyways I'll submit Hornet (Australia)

Hollow Knight is a big indie game, often considered one of the best alongside. I chose her over the Knight partly because of Silksong, but I'd also reckon she could bring more personality as a fighter.

Job 12: Madeline (Celeste)

Developed by the Canadian studio Maddy Makes Games, Celeste focuses on a young woman named Madeline who strives to climb the mountain Celeste and conquer her inner demons. Celeste is a tough-as-nails platformer, though it comes with accessibility options to make the process less frustrating if the player chooses. Despite my general aversion to games known for being difficult (I've only played through one Ninja Gaiden game after confirming that it was the easiest of the series), I had a great time with Celeste; the story's well-written, with Madeline being a fleshed out character with realistic fears and anxieties.

In addition to the abilities that she develops through climbing the mountain, such as dashing and using various obstacles/traps to her advantage, Madeline also appeared in the archery-themed platform fighter Towerfall, which would help to expand her moves for a fighting game context. She also has a malevolent doppelganger known as Badeline who could provide some offensive options since she's a part of Madeline.

Something new that I learned, I tried to check their country and I was sure that I readed "United States" before, yeah it wouldn't change the job anyway but thanks for the correction!

JOB 10 VOTES:
  1. Dodge Bomb
  2. Fireworks
  3. Heat-Seeking Eraser
JOB 12: Nyx (NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits)

1739951380529.png

NyxQuest is a 2009 platform game made for Wii by the Spanish developer Over the Top Games. The protagonist is a winged girl called Nyx, who sets on a journey to find her missing friend Icarus, and gets the help of various Ancient Greek gods along the way - mostly to solve environmental puzzles.

I think she could be a fun character who focuses on staying in the air and controlling the stage around her instead of getting involved in direct combat.

It says to vote for your top two, not top three.

Job 11

Dodge Bomb

Using Knee's proposed Dodge Bomb item, this mini game would split the map based into sections based on the number of players (or teams) and feature the Dodge Bomb as it's central gimmick. Each player/team would be confined to their designated area and would attack each other by throwing Dodge Bombs at each other. (Other items could potentially appear but they'd be much less frequent and be from a curated list that fits the mini game.)

In addition to the chosen characters, each player/team will be given additional "dummy" characters to serve as team members. (The "dummies" I imagine being sort of like the Super Team from Super Mario Strikers or Razor's Devils from Hunter x Hunter. Characters original to Scribble Scramble that can slot in as literal training dummies or as extras in any other scenarios that call for them.) Players will be able to swap control between their actual character and the individual dummies.
  • A character is "out" when they run out of HP.
  • Guarding/Healing is disabled.
  • Dummies have less HP than the actual characters who serve as team captains.
  • A team loses when all their characters/dummies are out.
  • Characters (but not dummies) can use a "Back" command to return to the field, but only once.
  • Dummies that are out will transform into small walls that can be positioned along the dividing lines to try and block opponent's shots.
  • Characters that are out can move freely along the stage perimeter.
  • If a player/team has already lost, they can still control their characters to help or sabotage the other teams until the game ends.

Wherever good books are sold.
I might have been gone for a bit, but I'll try to keep up with the thread more going forward.

For now, here's Sans & Papyrus' moveset! As a reminder, Papyrus is the character players actually control while Sans mostly hangs out in the background.
  • Unique Movement: Fibia Flutter
    • Based on one cutscene from UNDERTALE, Papyrus possesses a super-armored flutter jump similar to that of Yoshi in Smash.
  • Shield: Rib Cage
    • Papyrus holds his fist in front of him defensively, with a wall of bones popping out of the ground to protect himself.
  • Ground Combo: Nyeh Heh Heh!
    • Two palm strikes followed by a front kick. Named as such due to Papyrus saying each part of his infamous laugh with each hit.
  • Air Attack: Skull Splitter
    • Papyrus performs a split kick, hitting opponents on both sides of himself.
  • Heavy Attack: Bones to Pick
    • Papyrus casts his arm forward, prompting a wall of bones to sprout from the ground in front of himself. A good amount of range, but also pretty committal.
  • Heavy Air Attack: Rib Tickler
    • Papyrus casts his arm forward, but rather than all his bones appearing at once, he fires five of them forward in rapid succession. Not as strong as the grounded version, but has pretty active hitboxes.
  • Launcher: A Lotta Spine
    • Papyrus swings his arm upwards, causing a taller bone to jut out of the ground in front of himself, launching opponents upward as opposed to Heavy Attack's horizontal knockback.
  • Ground Special: Blue Attack
    • Papyrus sends out a blue bone as a projectile. The bone only hits opponents who are moving, so standing still or guarding are the best ways to handle it. If you do get hit, though, your character will briefly turn blue, limiting their mobility for a few seconds.
  • Charge Special: Multicolor Tile Puzzle
    • Papyrus places down a colored tile a fixed distance in front of himself. The color and effects of the tile depend on how long the move is charged, with Papyrus cycling through a handful of options until the special button is released.
      • Red: Standard damage/knockback.
      • Yellow: Brief electricity/paralysis effect before weakly launching the opponent.
      • Green: The Annoying Dog suddenly pounces on the opponent, launching them towards Papyrus.
      • Blue: The opponent is bitten by hungry piranhas, dealing multiple hits of damage before launching them upwards.
      • Purple: Causes the opponent to trip.
  • Air Special: Trousle of Bones
    • Papyrus spins horizontally repeatedly, dealing multiple hits of damage to opponents nearby while also being able to reflect projectiles. Based on an UNDERTALE cutscene.
  • Dash Special: Cool Dude
    • Papyrus hops on a skateboard and rides it forward. While this usually prevents him from stopping until the move ends by itself, he damages opponents on contact and can perform a jump while skating. The move can also be canceled out of if it hits an opponent in midair, making it a solid combo starter.
  • Hyper Special: Completely Normal Attack
    • Papyrus sends out a vast array of bones of various sizes and angles, being able to quickly rack up damage on opponents before launching them with one final gigantic bone which launches them away. (If you look closely, you can see a comically short bone among the pack. See, Sans is helping!)
Job 12: Sensei (Fruit Ninja)

Hailing from Australia's Halfbrick Studios, I think Sensei woud be a good fit for a precision-based swordsman ala Marth. I'd usually submit Barry Steakfries as a representative for this studio, but let's mix things up a bit.

Minigame Submission:
BALLOON BASH
A combination of a break the targets type mode with an endurance/arcade feel. In this mode you'd run across a stage and pop as much balloons as you can by attacking them. Balloons give different scores based on their color, and popping multiple balloons with one attack will double the score that would've been given if popped individually. You'd also be under a time limit for this

Once you clear a stage of balloons, more balloons just float into the arena and its time for round 2! That's right! There's no real end to this game, just pop balloons til you can't keep up anymore.

Throughout the rounds, you'd also encounter special balloons like ones that move in set patterns, ones that deliberately flee from you, ones that occasionally have spikes that pop out, and clock shaped ones that extend the time.

At the end of your run, your score would translate into in-game currency (if thats a thing)

BTW I submit the goose as a fighter

CupHead
His game was made in Canada by Studio MDHR. He's popular with plenty of potential moves.

Minigame: Pinball
You choose a fighter to be put in a ball and try to hit the ball with the flippers.
