  • Gozyuger releases today and I can't be more excited to stare for hours at the twitter post cuz I never can follow a show that is being currently transmitted since the moment I miss one day I just stop looking at it for the rest of the year.
I want to share these doodles I made for my indie fighting game concept thread. Since the idea goes around something similar to Rakugaki Showtime and hand draw-like visuals I tried to replicate that using my own drawings as a child for reference, however it's quite hard to replicate the same feeling in a digital format, it's just not really the same, so I went with something a bit more "detailed" thought with some elements like color outside the lines and a paper texture to mantain a bit of the feeling.

At the end I had fun so I'm cool with it.
I like the words peak and kino cuz they are funny buzzswords but I have never seen something that I can call perfect and have no complains whatsoever no matter how little they might be.

On an unrelated notes watch Shin Kamen Rider.

honestly, yeah, it kinda sucks that they didn't end up going with the scene in the rain because that one in particular was an amazing scene in the manga... but to be fair, i think the change was understandable given they were struggling with safety concerns, and ultimately the cgi probably would have detracted from the action anyway.

...as for whether the cgi would have detracted anywhere near as much as having all of the action be near-imperceptible among the darkness is kind of another matter. though i do think the idea of having the muzzle flashes light up the tunnel was pretty inspired

Seeing Shin Kamen Rider in the theater was a great experience and made me love it even more

and it also made the dark ass fight scene even less visible.

but every other fight was great on that big screen.

I think the word perfect is useful when reviewing media but only when you call it perfect for its genre or style.

Like, if someone says Star Wars is a “perfect sci fi movie” or Chrono Trigger is a “perfect RPG” they can recognize it’s got flaws but that it’s perfect for what it’s trying to do, there’s at least some actual constructive discourse that can start from that.
If the next Smash is truly a reboot then IMO they should make their own designs for all characters instead of picking a particular incarnation thus making the character version timeless; at least for series like Zelda or Metroid where their characters changes design almost all the time.
Finished once again Aria of Sorrow and this game is nearly perfect but I still can't get over the fact of how 9 out of 10 videogames that adds a "Luck" stat is always dog**** and never does anything.

Good luck! Are you playing it in the Advance collection? It might be a bit tedious but the rewind option does wonders after a while, I managed to get the 85% rn thanks to that, just needing a few souls that are easier to get in the NG+.

Yeah, it's the collection. I forgot the exact number as I've stopped playing for the day but I think I've got around 60% soul completion atm with 88% map coverage. Still a badass game despite the grind at times though.

I think luck is cool in very specific circumstances. I usually just ignore it but i try to max out Barrett's luck on FFVII Remake cause he has like twenty weak attacks per second or something. Also the crit damage is really strong in the mario and luigi games so i always focus on Stache for luigi.
I'm usually against the idea of turn Echos into skins in the future, is not only boring but also misses what an Echo is supposed to be...on the other hand I think they should merge the Belmonts into one as Simon as the leader. I love Richter but I think they work better as something like Hero or the Koopalings, it would also mean that there it would be chances to get other two Belmonts like Trevor and Julius (doubt Juste would be part of the quarter due how different he is to the rest of the family, same for Leon and nobody reminds Christopher).
It is strange to say that I want some characters to be included just cuz they could make fun spirit battles (as if Spirits will even return cof cof)

On a related topic anyone knows for more NES/SNES era Nintendo characters that have any sort of potential? Takamaru is my personal favorite but asides of him and Ayumi, Mach Rider and Excitebike I don't know any others that gets any sort of mention.

Lip arguably counts if we're including SNES, but if you wanted to go for NES specifically, I've seen a non-zero amount of support for Mike Jones (Startropics), Donkey Kong Jr. (Donkey Kong Jr.), the Devil (Devil World), Starman and the Amazon (Pro Wrestling), Balloon Fighter (Balloon Fight), Ninten (Mother), Sukapon (Joy Mech Fight), and then various characters from the first two Fire Emblem titles (mainly, I'd point to Alm and Celica from Gaiden.)
If I was omnipotent I would made up a fake translation group and start creating translations of games with people don't being able to know how I'm pulling these stuffs so fast.
SMP (short of Super MiniPla) is such a funny toyline of Bandai cuz it started as cheap, simple and affordable small model kits that came in snacks, nowadays you see them making half meter tall kits with complex movement, tons of accesories and high color separation with prices that surpasses the hundred dollars, I still wonder why they didn't just make a different line up for those lol.

Didn't watched the doom trailer till today and while I'm interesed I'm not sure if the team is really aiming at the majority of their playerbase considering how more story heavy the game seems to be, something that well it has been historically an element that while rising in popularity since 2016 it has been acussed to be "as important as the plot of a nsfw video".

I like the lore btw thought I don't think its the type of stuffs Iwould take serious, so it's still a bit headscratching thinking if this approach really works, eeeh I guess beating demons with skull debris is enough to stop any complains.

Yeah that was really the weird thing for Doom eternal for me, combat is amazing (and I say that as someone who generally don't like fps, so when I like one you know it's REALLY good), but every so often the game just loses focus either because there's a cutscene and the story is awful, or there's a lot of "platforming" sections which make no sense.

I'm the same, there are few shooters than can mantain my attention but Doom Eternal felt a bit weird with how they tried to bring elements that don't feel really connected and with Dark Ages they seem to bring more of them while also making some changes that I don't think I like, like the "reworked" glory kills that seems to be much more utilty based with the Slayer only having to punch the opponent multiple times instead of getting y'know special animations that sure they cut sometimes the flow of the game but they were too satisfactory to land and for what they have show it seems now its just punch punch punch drop ammo and continue.
I would like to try to make a creation thread, I have two ideas but one feels to niche (a SRW game!) and the other idk if it has been seen too much (a indie fg), if I get confident enough I might get a shot to either.
Is not strange to ask for more non-starter Pokémon characters but I always found a bit hard to decided which ones, thought I recently heard an idea of have Ceruledge and Armorouge together having a change special similar to the pokémon trainer but instead of red and leaf is Mela and I think it has potential.
A part of me thinks that the only thing that doesn't let Rivals pass from a good game to the greatest game ever (for me) is that is a shooter. Maybe if it was more like Dissidia or Extreme Versus.
I would love to see Super Robot Wars in Smash, I mean, even the OG saga has a cult following in Japan and SRW and Nintendo has a lot of history with a lot of its games being exclusive for years on their consoles. However I always ask myself, would they add a pilot or a mech? The pilot seems easier and there are various popular options like Sanger Zonvolt or Roar who can fight outside their mechs with ease and are iconic, but on the other side is super ROBOT wars, no super pilot wars, so the most recognizable side are the mechs, but there is the "too big" argument, howver I think it can be played around when one of the main features of SRW is their use of "Super Deformed" mechs, which means the og game is already not acurrate to actual sizes so it can be worked around just fine me thinks, in that case my bets would be on the Cybuster, the Dygenguar or the SRX that feels like the most iconic designs; the Huckebein is an option too sure but I guess it is too gundam-facey and might be a problem due that.
