If the UCSB tournament was held every week, or even every month, I can assure you we wouldn't have split. I think you forgot the feeling of donating money every weekend to DSF.

Doubt it would have changed that much... but that's my SB bias. Ross wasn't really ****** me in 64 and melee was even when we played earlier last week.

Before winners finals was played out, Junk and Warp knew SRK was in losers finals, and the loser had to play him. Now Junk plays SRK a lot, and knows all of his shenanigan characters. Warp however, was extremely afraid of SRK's possible fox, wolf, hell he was even quoted to be "scared of Sonic because [he] doesn't know the matchup".
Junk, being the beast that he is, decides that he will fight SRK. So they stage a winner finals where Junk loses 0-3 with DDD/MK vs Warp's ZSS. Warp will probably claim he was playing really well and Junk will probably say he didn't know how to fight ZSS with those characters, but anyone in attendance knew of the conspiracy theory that was happening.
So now Junk plays SRK in loser's finals. Sure enough Junk uses SRK's kryptonite, DDD. SRK tries ROB but can't kill Junk until above 200%. Game 2 was fairly boring MK vs DK match where DK can't do anything versus smart use of the B button. Literally every time Junk was down he would hit the B button until it was even. Down 0-2, SRK counterpicks Final Destination. Junk has no idea where SRK is going with this, but figures he's up and he can counterpick SRK so he goes DDD, bracing for Olimar or Metaknight. However, SRK takes a page from Dantarion's book "how to counterpick yourself" and picks sonic. It was a fairly annoying match for Junk as Sonic runs around for 7 minutes doing almost no damage but taking none himself until he gets grabbed.
Anyway, now it's grand finals, Junk vs Warp. Junk goes Marth versus Warp now, and legitimately hands Warp the **** 3-1. Warp will probably claim he wasn't playing as well while simultaneously Junk was channeling every Marth trick known to man. I clearly remember game 2 Junk vs Warp on Lylat where Junk ***** Warp over and over, even with silly mistakes like getting hit by ZSS' broken ledge attack >100% and her respawn fresh side b bull****. The game ended with Junk literally walking up right in front of Warp which made him shield, then turning around before Warp even did anything and Warp rolling right into a up tilt KO.
After this, Warp is extremely afraid of Junk's Marth. He thinks he was closer for the last few games but remembers Junk only played with one counterpick and ***** on that cp... and agrees to Junk's proposal of "Ike v Mario". There is a long history of **** talk between Junk and Warp on Ike v Mario, a 10:90 matchup Ike disadvantage as he gets gimped super easily by Mario's broken water gun and cape. Warp normally ***** Junk in this matchup, and figures this would be an easy 3-0.
Junk however, has been training exclusively with Ike all week. Actually no wait he didn't play Ike at all since he last played Warp with it, god **** that's ****. Regardless, Junk was playing extremely well with Ike too, even doing things such as not punishing Warp's shenanigans with strong moves until he could KO him. After a thrilling 3-1 set which no one watched (even though there were plenty of people watching winners, losers, and first set of grand finals), Junk was crowned champion.
) Also at me quitting Wario, I love Wario too much for that, but playing Ganon was the funnest thing I did at the tourney so ehhh... we'll see. I loled when someone walked up to the Luigi vs Ganon match and was all like "Is this tourney?!" Too bad I signed up for melee but My name wasn't there, oh well doubt I would have won anyway
