Lol... I guess.

I'll have to play some melee against cpus this week. But...

That sounds pretty fun actually, because I hate brawl again.

Wait, go to your place after SB tourney? Okay, I'm down. Can you house my buddy WarpStatus, too? You might've met him yesterday.

We'd have to run a really fast tournament in order to do doubles, which only a few people seem interested in anyway. There's no way we'd get through it. It's not up to me, but seriously, just do some friendlies. We could MAYBE do a mini tourney, but again, it's not up to me.

The tournament begins at 3:30. I can't imagine many more than 20 people showing up to this out-of-the-way/smallish/no ranked players tournament. If there are 20 players, there will be under 35 matches that need to be played, 3 or 4 of which will be best of 5.

If the tournament is run efficiently (forget friendlies, and as soon as someone wins, they report, and the TV is IMMEDIATELY filled), 35 matches is not very many if we can 4 or 5 stations.

Also, another reason that tournaments take additional time is seeding, which there will be very little of, so the singles tournament should start on time and doubles could immediately follow. And because there will be less than half as many doubles entrants: 10 or fewer teams. That's under 20 matches, and doubles usually go faster.

What time do we have to bone out of the venue by? Because I think we can definitely squeeze in doubles. (I'd be happy to help run the tournament btw if needed + I'm bringing a wii)

hey dante. if my old crew shows up we can have my crew fight you crew
heck yes. tell them about this nooooowwwww.

@gishnak

Last time we were told to leave around 10ish. But I stayed for cleanup and whatnot a fair bit later than that, and noone came to kick me out. Idunno. w/e. if you guys want teams, we'll see what can be done. I'm just not sure if there is enough demand to justify it. *shrug*

oh and a lot of this depends on what room we get/ how many tv's end up being brought.
If we get the good room with 2 tv's we could probably make this go quickly. But that's up to the san marcos guys.

oh yeah that was great...He's actually an up and coming player I trained from scratch. started a year ago and introduced him to advance play. been playing with him on and off for a year. smash was really a side thing since I train him more in starcraft. he's gotten alot better since I started coaching him. Always beats his friends now.

in my crew I'm probably the least experienced and possibly the worst. at least last time that was the case when I played with em over summer.

Well junk I haven't played melee in forever so im QUITE rusty at it. I used to be very good but I would need to play for a few hours to relearn my melee habits. I haven't been playing much brawl but I still play it. Maybe I could play some of you guys before the tourney and relearn my melee skills :)

Oh yeah don't team with gish he will team kill you lol. (we failed badly when we teamed at oxnard I need to work on team skills :()

^^ ^^

Also I was wondering if anyone has a setup for recording matches? That would be amazingly tight.

(We could still use 1+ more TVs)

Put G as maybe too.

Bring tv's peeps we don't need wii's/cube's if we can't back it up with tv's.

Hell I'll bring 2 tv's if I can get a free entry to melee LOL (i won't win i can guarantee you, just skip me in prize giving)

gish has a recording device but you need a decent pc for it.

there should be a low tier round robin if possible too. cruss only plays low tiers but he's pretty good.

Well if Gish wants to do it, that would be really tight.

junk delivers yet again.

Think of it this way sm guys, if you fail this time. You'll be diminishing san marcos' and santa barbara's rep as part of the smash community. Fewer people will wanna come to the next one. No pressure. :D

although to be fair, most of this is jose's fault and you guys are trying to make the best with the turd pile he handed you. :\

i think all my roommates will be gone by then

i live right next to freebirds/subway/starbucks/everything so we can go walk to get dinner too
