Your team will be hard-countered by Olimar, Paw. :3

Did you still want to team, Leaf? I've never tried Oli-Pika and it sounds like something that could either be REALLY fun or REALLY bad.

Dang I went to Dallas :(
Houston doesn't need housing.
We are making it a one day trip to be convenient to people wanting to go

But thanks for the offer. Your couch is awesome, Tofer.

Nike cannot house for awhile...
because of RGV

However, Tofer has available housing. You can chat it up with him about that.

Holy cow, alot of OoC. I can ask my parents tonight if I am allowed to house. I'll try to have an answer tonight.

EDIT: Oh, Tofer still has housing. Ummmmmmmmmmmmm. I could ask anyway, but Tofer has amazing couches/bed/food too.

But if you say tofer is just as good then ok.

=( You can't bring up this excuse when I brought to your attention that a Teams Edition tourney should be $10 per person.

I'm still on the fence about going, haven't completely decided yet.

It's a Teams Edition tourney and teams isn't valued the same as singles? I don't understand. Teams should be $10 per person.

Imagine 20 teams (40 people) enter. First place would only get $55 per person
Imagine 40 singles (40 people) enter. First place would get $220.

Doesn't seem right in the slightest.

Also, I'm considering coming to this.

i would change it to $10 if everyone agreed to it, it would need at least a 2:1 margin for it to happen

I always thought it was 10/person for teams, and 10 for singles. I think thats standard for hobos and should prolly do that here too. I can probably make this and need teamsies, unless Trela goes

houston is houston, san antonio is san antonio.

San antonio is the king of money johns, and don't have teams, like ever.

as you can see by the poll, many smashers in sa are not willing to pay $10. i dont even think we are that poor, i think people are just unwilling to spend money.

most likely, teams will be $5

Bad typo is bad

I think singles should stay $10, and let the poll decide doubles.

If its THAT MUCH of a problem for OoC then it's prolly easier to just not go.

Leaf, I can most likely go, but need to know the time we are gonna leave in the morning.

You obviously don't know San Antonio.

Personally, I literally cannot afford it. No joke.
I only have about $50 on me for the rest of the summer.

$10 is not even too much money for me. I wouldn't mind paying $10 for Singles & Doubles, but I've only been playing competitively for a few months, so I won't do it higher than $5. Once I've gotten used to the game and all it's MUs, and have obtained enough experience/confidence, then I wouldn't mind paying more at all. This is my same reasoning for OoC tourneys.

That being said, Paw+ is trying to generate Doubles play inside the SA Smash Community. By lowering the price to $5, more of SA would be inclined to enter and would possibly gain confidence/interest in more Doubles, and possibly inspiring them to dish out 5 more dollars next time whilst aiming for a higher payout. I'm sure Paw+ knows that if he raises the price to $10 it would attract more players in general, but Paw+'s priority lies within SA's interest. (At least I think, I'm pretty sure!)

Paw, put me down for a full set-up, unless you have enough already.

I'll team with anyone who doesn't have a partner yet.

I will play Yoshi for teams. Not sure I can stay for singles though.
