Jayferd!!! Ok so you and me smash this week!!! and I will be setting up tournaments for the summer so don't worry about looking for a venue I'll be holding the tournaments, its my senior project, anyways I am up for smashing today monday, wednesday, and maybe thursday , friday I can't because I'll be at a party smashing here at school...time to pawn! hehehe
I can help you with lots of characters, like seriously I built knowledge in this past year about every characters and don't feel bad about not being so good yet ok? last time I played someone here at school I made them quit, they don't have any spirit...
JAYFERD don't feel "alienated" (LOL) like seriously its your first one what did you expect, I also felt weird the first time I went to smash and the reason they didn't really talk to you is because once your at everybody else's level...(I am not including myself in that...I don't think i am that good hahaha) well yeah it just everyone wants to smash with the better people so they can get better, you know? and yeah ...I'll help you get better just don';t give up on me while your at it ^.^, I've had training from Simna, ender, Tomi-X, and Delphiki so I have things i could teach you ^.^ just...start of wave dashing...you know how long it took me to put that into play? I still sometimes have trouble getting into play ^.^ so yeah tell me if your comming over

I'm free today, tuesday, wednesday, and friday. umm... I already use advanced techniques (Snap is a good friend of mine), I just don't have the precision everyone else seemed to have.
Can you smash today? I'm free all day so just IM me or PM me or something.

What I found at NCB was exactly the same as what I found in the DCI world - there are a lot of what I call "talent wh0res" - i.e. people who only associate with people who are their better or equal. It really doesn't make for a welcoming environment at all, and it puts a negative competitive vibe on everything. I think that a community that is constantly encountering new people needs to be at least accessible to them, if not welcoming.
Also, I think the term "n00b" is a misnomer, and it is overused. I may not be very good, but I am *not* a "n00b". I bought smash 64 the day it came out, and I've been playing melee since the day it came out. I've been using advanced techniques for about 2 years now. I've organized smashfests and tournaments, I've run several double-elimination brackets, and I co-founded Super Smash Bears, a Berkeley campus smash club. I'm not "new" to this game.
Anyways, that's my rant for today; cavesonic, IM me if you want to smash :D

and...honestly Sacramento smashers are sometimes really cocky... *sigh* lol there are some who will take you in, in the beginning, luckily I had great people bring me into the smashing, oh btw don't expect too much from me ^.^ maybe from my Yoshi... lol

it seems I may have the house to myself for a few weeks this month. Would anyone in sac be interested in a trek to Reno for a tourney? The rules would probably mirror those of DG-IV. If not, some of us Reno kids still wanna play a bit so are there any large smash meet ups this weekend or next in Sac?

well, at this point we're not sure if anyone is going to be heading over here at all. =P I'd like to schedule the tourney you guys can make it though. It wouldn't be nearly as fun if it was just the usual Reno kids showin up.
