Ugh. Playing doubles against Mike and Melvin with SiD as my partner is as fun as watching flies ****. Seriously. It's like Mew2King and PC Chris Vs. Ken and Cavesonic. For ****s sake. I seriously hate doubles as of this moment.

I love the Grand Canyon, but how does one move there? There aren't really cities to speak of by it, or are you moving to like Flagstaff or Kingman or something?

Hey, are these things still goin on? I just got back to Sac a couple of weeks ago, and there is a stark absence of date info on this thread.
On another note, I *may* be driving to NCB; I've never been before, and I'd like to go before I start work. I'd like to have somebody with a license and such so we can split the driving, though. I've never been good at long trips.
Quick edit: The Amtrak station is pretty close to the university, so that's another option for people without rides.

Sure thing, Simna; do u have a driver's license? like I said, it'd be nice to split up the driving. I've still got room for 3 more.
I must say I'm amazed at the lack of info I can find regarding both the Sac biweeklies and the NCB biweeklies; I'm sure I must be missing the page somewhere. I'm looking for very basic info, as in time, place, preregistration, etc. Could someone fill me in?

I have to move out because Civil is moving and the house is being sold. If I don't find somewhere to live in the next couple of weeks I'll have to move up to Oregon with Civil. I have between two and a half weeks to about a month and a half. So in these next couple weeks I'm going to get my license and try to get a car so that I'll have more options when I'm forced to take action.

Yes, I have the GSC - I'm listed in Berkeley (the kirby), since I live there 3/4 of the year, but I'm in Sac for the summer. Speaking of which, I noticed you guys (simna, tomi, delphiki) all live pretty far from one another; would it be possible for you guys to get a ride to my place? I live in south sac, near ender.
Also, what time does NCB start? That's kind of an important detail for planning.

I believe signups start roughly around 12, end at 12:30 for doubles, and singles starts when doubles end I think. Check the NCB thread. I might be able to find a way down there, not sure yet.

I drive a white Ford Focus - I'll message you on AIM and give you my phone number. As for the time, I want to get on the road around 9:30, but I may have to pick up Simna and Tomi and whoever may take the last spot, and that could take an up to an hour. I'll keep you posted.

It was my first NCB, and I feel like people only really wanted to talk to people they already knew - my roommate Robin (cam-z) and I felt a little alienated. Everyone was also on a different level of playing than we are currently.
I'm gonna be out of commission for a little while; I'm trying to change the whole way I approach the controller, which means learning a lot of things from scratch.
edit: Tom and I were talking about this in the car last night - it would be really cool if someone with connections to Sac State could look into getting a venue - along the lines of the room at SJSU for the NCB's - to restart these Sac biweeklies (you know, the original purpose of this thread? lolz)
