Well it's more that you didn't even consider it that's the problem.

It really doesn't matter that he's banned, just like any low tier, it's just I don't think there's a good reason to ban him.

Is Masterhand banned at TPoO?
And we're still not using the rules the rest of the country uses.
I mean we have KJ, RC and Brinstar banned, and wobbling legal.

But anyway, stage bans don't work properly with only 6 stages legal.
5 match set, you'll end up being forced to pick a stage your opponent is advantaged on, and that's not fair.

We shouldn't be syncing our rule sets with other states anyway, I don't get why Nova is so insistent about it >_>

I agree about the stage banning thing, that needs to be sorted out.

And GB the reason to ban him is perfectly valid: He doesn't add anything to the game, he only makes it worse for everyone.

He's banned at PoO, it's considered so obvious it doesn't need to be listed, SA is the only place it does.

He adds nothing.
He's boring to use, he's boring to play against, he freezes the game, he's a glitched character, and he completely changes how the game is played, all so some people can play around with a gimmik.
Based on tournament rules, he can never actually win, anyway.

Wobbling isn't banned everywhere (only place that doesn't have an IC, ironically), it might be soon though; it will be at Reloaded.

RC & Brinstar are not legal everywhere, however, KJ is so it's likely to be added.

If it isn't listed, it isn't a real ban.

Yeah he can.

No, it won't.

KJ won't be legal here either.

EDIT: Don't take my first two sentences to mean that I support MH.

Grim, shut up.
You have no credibility or experience, just idiocy in the form of pugnacious pseudo-intellectuality you post on the Internet.

Simplified: You're young and inexperienced, so you cannot make logical decisions and generally try to give yourself an advantage (ban Brinstar, allow wobbling - I don't care what the reasons are, if they're banned/legal everywhere else in Aus, the WORST state at the game(s) can follow) instead of looking out for a tournament scene.

I grow extremely tired of the back and forward stupidity in the SA threads as of late, anyway so this rapid interest loss may be beneficial for some people.
The boring theory $hit all belongs in tactical discussion because nobody here gives a dung since it's always up to the TO, anyway.

Nova, shut up.

You have no reason to intentionally make our tournaments uncompetitive and scrubby, so why are you doing it?

Oh, and the fact it gives my character an advantage is purely coincidental. In fact, I could just say the reverse to you, that banning Wobbling and legalizing Brinstar is giving you an advantage.

Scrubby is trying to prove to me that Poke Floats is an awful stage for whoever/whatever then YOU getting 3 stocked and rage quitting before I took the 4th, on a stage I have played once or twice, while I didn't lose a single stock.

Again, you have no credibility, so anything you say in regards to how to make a game you're not good at competitive or less scrubby is unsubstantial.

That's not scrubby, that's just hilarious.

I don't have to be good at the game to be right.

And you have no more credibility or experience with the game than I do.

Also, I think this is hilarious:

@ Grim, the rules have been updated for the last time, what you see here is what's the go, if Melee is even hosted.
Wobbling will be banned at Reloaded.

KJ is likely to be added as a counter-pick.

GGs missing the "soon" part of that post, meaning that (since I said they won't change for the next one) it would be the update following that.
Which renders that attempt at whatever it was about as useful as your Poke Floats antic.

I was under the assumption that people would use their intelligence to distinguish that the rules for the next Valhalla are locked in - once again I've vastly overestimated some people.

Well, considering all the bull**** you've been spewing over the last few posts, it wasn't that crazy an assumption.

THUD 00:00 - 09:00
FRID 00:00 - 09:00
SATD 00:00 - 09:00
SUND 00:00 - 09:00
MOND 00:00 - 09:00

Given I was just accosted with this email (work shifts) I highly doubt I'll be around at Valhalla anyway (completely clashes in terms of sleep).

So, my stabs at rules becoming more consistent are pointless, since you'll be running it, if it's even on the schedule.
I grow very tired of bothering to try and have Valhalla Melee, or even SA Melee in general taken seriously anyway.
Nobody here is even that great at the game, and most people want different things, along with the screeching of whining through megaphones when people don't agree with a decision which anywhere else is solely up to a TO.
Followed by stupid quote wars or page after page of tactical discussion tripe - most players don't even care until something like wobbling is discussed.

Someone will need to host Brawl though, given me nor Apollo will be there.

Guys you need to realise that despite Nova's rather direct way of handling things, his say as a TO is pretty much final. Even though its apparent he may not even be at the next val whoever steps up should at least mantain consistency with the rulesets. Changing it at every event in the future would make it too confusing.

Valhalla should still have melee, so thats up to you Grim since you did a good job last time. You should also help out at brawl and get seth/ghost/luneth to help out. Have fun and remember to bring lots of wiis.

Also, someone needs to bring a laptop for the network or at least contact wookie about access to the brackets like last time as well.

Completely off topic, but I don't care since I cbf talking about rules anymore and my MSN is ********: I'm 95% confirmed for PoO, my shifts in Feb are mostly normal.

SO I I'm good to go with Brawl/Chris, Melee/Mason.

Edit: Also, whoever runs Brawl/Melee, please grab the results & number of entrants for singles.

Probably gonna have to find someone else for PoO, I'm sorry. :c

I'll make sure we get the results/entrants for both.

Stalling stuff clarified in the rules.
You can take out the mention of stalling in the general rules section then, so it's only in the Other Rules section.
Otherwise you're repeating yourself >.>

Also Rising Pound stall doesn't need to be banned, too hard to define what's out of reach and what isn't.

Like Jigglypuff could be doing it so Fox can only hit her by using Firefox, but obviously that's a very bad attacking move, is Jigglypuff still stalling?

Also it can't be done forever (at least a human can't) and you can't really classify something as stalling if it can't be done indefinitely.
(otherwise you have to consider things like not doing a combo as quickly as possible, or holding somebody in a grab and not pummeling for a bit and then throwing)
Even stuff like using a tether recovery and waiting a bit, that delays the match, but can't be done indefinitely.
Are those examples of stalling?

But whatever I'm going to be ignored and I don't play Jigglypuff seriously so why am I arguing this.

Obviously, if you're trying to avoid all contact in that rising pound is considered stalling, the TO will get involved, and explain or tell people to stop doing it or instantly lose the match.
I don't particularly care how vague the rule is; 99% of people won't do it and at tournaments I'm at, I'll have no issue acting on the very small minority that don't understand and want to try and be rebels.

Do keep in mind I don't totally ignore suggestions, but in Smash at this day and age, there is a mix of both popularity and competitive logic; with popularity almost always taking higher priority; which in some cases renders logical arguments/suggestions (unless they catch on) null.

An example is stalling with certain moves - there are probably 1 person to every 50 that think it should be legal - hence why it's easier for me to act on that rule.

So while the smash games are competitive, in some instances logic is sacrificed for benefit of popularity (how the majority of people are having fun while still being competitive).
I don't see this as ever changing.

Thanks for spelling out exactly why we make some of these decisions in the rulesets, now it should be much clearer for everyone. Just try drop the rebel phase and enjoy the weekend.

I will be bringing back some swiss chocolate if my suitcase permits it =D

You're also bringing back my Brawl motivation.

Probably going to use Shelda a bit more now.
Main is still Snake though.

Edit: And I'll pick up Brawl Peach. <3

Edit 2: If I manage to get enough sleep tomorrow, I'll go to Valhalla and run/seed Brawl.
Grim deals with Melee as usual, though he must seed properly or I'll ban Ice Climbers. <3

At present, with no pools, seeds are based on the current PR.

For example, if 1st on the list isn't at the event, 2nd & 4th (3rd isn't either) must be seeded at opposite sides of the bracket.

1-10
3-8
5-6
4-7
2-9

^ that is assuming only PR people enter (which is extremely unlikely), but you should get the point.

Yeah it should.
You'll still need to get people to register on Valhalla's network, but then just enter the names + seeds into Tio.

Edit: Actually if Melee doesn't have a prize, you can probably just take down names.

I said I might go. :@

Although, I'm pretty sure you can take a set off me now; your spacing improved dramatically in that day I came over half drugged.

Oh, I hope you come then.

I think you're still better than me, though part of the comes from you maining Peach and Marth, the Ice Climbers only two bad top/high tier match-ups xD

You could've picked Fox, Falco, Jigglypuff, Sheik or Captain Falcon, but noooooooooo... >_>

My Fox has new spacing games.
Well, he's better than he WAS... which ain't hard.
I will not use Peach V Ice Climbers unless I suspect wobbling.
So it'd be mainly Marth.

Fawks in teams though.
He's epic for combos. ☆

I don't like Peach V IC anyway.
I hate the way I have to play it and I like Peach for turnip trap fun (works "well" against everyone except like Samus/Jigs/ICies/Kirby). <3
