Jigglypuff's ability to stall is detrimental to tournaments.

It's not fair to ban him.........
Plus it's not like anybody uses him anyway.

And somebody who does use him should be knocked out of the tournament quite quickly, so there's no real problem.

And Nasterhand is still legal :awesome:

Also the stalling rule about infinites should probably just be like brawl's, can't do it above 300%.

So

Masterhand can take longer than normal to start a match >.>

Also after somebody loses a stock the match can just be ended there, so it's not like he always extends matches.

And if he does that means he loses so whoever's playing as him will get knocked out.

I just really don't see how it's that big of a deal that he needs to be banned (in singles).

He takes WAY longer than normal to start a match and slightly longer than normal at the end of a match due to the freeze. MH will VERY RARELY actually take a stock off someone.

Considering he will never place in singles tournaments, he doesn't actually matter from a competitive stand-point. He is the only character deserving of "negligible tier", so avoiding the time issue I mentioned above is worth it.

I don't really think he should be banned in doubles until we actually prove he's broken, but whatever, I can see the reasoning behind it.

Well everything banned in singles needs to be banned in doubles...
but for different reasons in this case xD.

And you really can't say that because he can't win we can ban him.
He does matter because people can still lose, if they don't know how to play against him.
Just like other low tiers. (though MH is admittedly much worse)
I mean, I doubt Pichu will ever place at a national tournament.

I can start with Masterhand on my first try most of the time.......but I guess sometimes freezing when the stage is selected could be a problem.

In my experience, it freezes more often than it works.

And I CAN see a Pichu placing at a national. I am one of the most knowledgeable people regarding both characters, and I can tell you that MH has a 0% chance of placing.

0%?

People who don't know how to play against him probably will lose.......he could place.
If I was going to PoO I would so go Masterhand.
(defend my new title of best Masterhand in Australia...as if that's hard)

Something odd though.

A melee character has been banned.
A brawl character hasn't.

lolwutisthis.

Haha, that's hilarious.

I doubt that even people who don't know his attacks could lose to be honest, they are all easily telegraphed and if you get hit by one, it will never hit you again.

I challenge your title of best MH btw. MH dittos next tourney?

Well
you really need to know what the slap and drill do...otherwise you'll get ***** xD
Plus those two together almost take a stock, then you add in the slap. Edit: add in the walk not the slap >.>
Then they're off stage, and it's edge-guarding time.
Wooooo

Oh and I challenge you to Muscle March for ports.

Drill is very easy to see coming, you can just move out of the way with a roll on reaction, even if you have never seen it before.

None of his attacks kill at 0% unless they DI poorly/you get a lucky spike/etc...

And I accept your challenge.

Uhh

You can't dodge drill on reaction lol.

It comes down really fast, and is hard to time if you don't know the timing.
The best strategy against it is to either run across the stage quickly or go offstage for a bit if you can't go fast enough.

Alright

Grim vs Ghost
MH dittos
Winner declared the best Masterhand in Australia. (As far as we know)

I don't know the frame data but.

I'm pretty sure the time between him appearing at the top of the screen and hitting you is less than 15 or so frames. (Human reaction times is 13.....spotdodges won't last long enough, and roll invincibility wouldn't come out for 3-4 frames so....dam I want Masterhand's frame data)

that's from him going up to coming back down....

So my point still stands, people who don't know the move won't know what it does so won't be able to dodge when it comes back down...

I think?

I'm not convinced, and I doubt Nova is either. So unless you can either find objective proof that he can actually place in a tournament at the highest current level of play for SA, then he's staying banned.

@ whatever the arguments were, no, he's banned.

@ Grim, the rules have been updated for the last time, what you see here is what's the go, if Melee is even hosted.

I don't care if it's spewing ignorance, in your OPINION, Ghost.
He's banned simply because he is already banned elsewhere in this country, but South Australia is the only state which actually needs a notification regarding it because of exploit *****s.

afaik, he's not banned at SG, be thankful you live in a State that has 2 tournaments because if you didn't, you'd flat out be living with the rules the rest of the country uses, soley.
