Your not required to stay all night and can just come for the smash comp and some freindlies. There also is a sleeping area.

Jamage's RetroLan 8.8 Review

Better late than never. Retrolan was so much fun and Ive heard we broke 130 people 8) Now lets beat that.

There were plenty of retro games to play as we had 5000 games on an arcade cabinet, a Virtual Boy, Atari, N64 and a bunch of Nes and Snes games as well as VC games on peoples Wii, some emulated stuff and a few old PC's with games like GTA1 and Starcraft networked. :D
I had fun pwning Techa at Starcraft on one of the PC's there.

We also had more Music games than a whole tribe could poke sticks at like DDR/stepmania, GH 1,2,80's, 3, Aerosmith, Rockband and more and they were played throughout the lan. People continously playing TTAF need to be shot

Super Smash Bros Brawl 1v1
The SSBB tournament ran pretty well with some really good and close matches like Mafesto (Marth) v Groove Master General (Marth) that match was so damm intense and we all wish that was recorded. I got knocked out by new charchters that im not used to defending against but then beat the winner Aisuka straight after his win 8O

Super Smash Bros Brawl 2v2
The 2v2 final could have been the most intense smash game iver ever had as it came down to a 2v1 against me in the final and I knocked out Silverwolfer and then engadged in the most intense battle with Aisuka with both of us on really high damage

Perfect Dark (N64)
It was about time we did a Perfect Dark tournament and at 1st I couldnt even control the game as was lucky to even make it trhough the 1st round but then got the hang of it but thought GMG would win with 30 kills in the 1st round but it wasnt to be.

Pac Man High Score
This could be done on the Arcade cabinet or my Wii as they are identicle versions.
This will be ongoing for the next couple of lans. If someone can beat my score next lan they will get a small prize.

Donkey Kong High Score (Nes version)

Plenty of people had a go at this but only my score was recorded and alot of people were playing on the arcade cabinet which has an extra level in its version and would get different scores.

Fond memories of being up for 28 hours, and a double espresso leading to the absolute slaughter of everyone else at 6am in the morning...
That was this year.

We had over 140 people there, it was insane.

Best Streetgeek ever for me! :D Over 140 people
Plenty of people there with Pirate Outfits on for Talk Like a Pirate day and more importantly Streetgeek 08.9
Pirate themed Lan.
Atmosphere was awesome and I spent alot of time just chatting and socialisng. Heaps of console comps were run from start to finish.

Super Smash Bros Brawl 1v1
It was our biggest Brawl comp ever from memory and we had a bunch of people wanting to enter after it had started and I was able to add a couple more but not all so I apologize to anyont that missed out on the 1v1. Players are getting better and we have some new people who rocked the house.

This was the first time we did a 4 player free for all at Streetgeek and it was done with smash balls on and I reckon it was quite fun and it stopped campers but more people disliked the inclusion of Smash balls than liked so next lan we will do FFA with all items off.

Halo 3
A Streetgeek noob but not a Halo noob won the Halo comp and I played quite well to grab 2nd spot. It was alot of fun. It was 6 pm on saturday and I hadnt even had any sleep friday night and prophet only got a couple of hours so it was amazing we were even able to hold a control.

Warioware Smooth Moves
Although still alot of fun Warioware wasnt as popular as usual as its getting older and played out so itll be given a break for a lan or 2 but its a really good comp for everyone as anyone can win as its mainly luck (Mic even won it) and can help you win the overall console comp.

Rock Band
Rockband comp at Streetgeek was 2 player high score using Guitar and Drums. It was fairly popular and looked like alot of fun. I only got a chance to play guitar and stilll havnt had a go at the drums yet.

Forza 2 Hotlap
This worked quite well on a projector for a good part of the lan and will be done again next lan with a different car and track. That car is so sweet to drive.

I was impressed with how well Singstar rocked the LAN, but attempting to run a comp for every released Singstar backfired a little. Not to mention most of the other comps I had originally planned to run, weren't due to lack of interest or too much interest in Singstar.

Singstar will be back next LAN (With less tournaments and better prizes of course), as well as a special "Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Free for all - Cage Match" tourney. (Tutorial for Cage Match on my youtube account)

I hope to see a better turn out and more people game for Singstar next LAN as it won't be so easy to come out on top. (Shakes fist @ Silver & Shay )

I gotta say all the people there were nice, the LAN is only 5mins away from where I live and the price was right. I'll do my best to make as many of these as I can, although I do treasure my weekend party time!

I would like to drag my housemate and some other friends along too sometime, because I have more friends who play Brawl but don't know about this.
