You guys don't want smash to die when you leave the scene do you?
/especially melee
I wasnt exactly hating on you guys I was just saying thank god were not flooded by kiddies as I couldnt handle many more like you 2 starting arguments, making SA look bad all the time and thinking you both know more than everyone even though your like 14 and have been to only a handfull of tourneys :glare:

I'm turning 20 on the 28th this month

Oh gawd I'm soo old. Although people say I only look 15-16. Probably because Ima short asss.

Avalon flights are like 59 return.... but its too far awaaay, and would end up costing the same going from tullamarine anyway (having to catch buses and transport all the way down there would cost around 25ish anyway)

And what is it with everyone in Australia thinking that being young means we don't know what we are talking about? o_O Age literally is unrelated to knowledge.

I really don't want to get into this but neither me nor Grim think we know more about the mindgame element of the game than other smashers.

But I mean who else will be able to tell you which characters on Pirate Ship can rudder stall, and the specific strategies of characters to beat it?

What's Dan post that is so bad?
cbf reading stage boards.
I always thought Dan in terms of knowledge knew the most out of everyone I've met (besides maybe Shaya & foxy) in terms of Brawl. :/

He probably knows lots of technical stuff, Nova, but his posts there don't cast him in an intelligent light.

And I guess your right, Ghost, I forgot about them. Though they are very minor and not worth banning a stage over :)

Wario already gets infinited though so it doesn't really matter...

Plus I guess technically they're not infinites because you need to pivot-grab iirc, which requires running.

ROFL you tried that exact same comment on interstaters when they called you an idiot in the ACL topic.

You 2 need to wisen up EVERYONE in aus thinks your both idiots but no everyone must be wrong.

Being young doesnt make you stupid but alot of your brain hasnt developed yet and one of the last things that develop is REASONING. Cant wait till you guys get it srs.

Exactly. From MY experience DJB knows more than both Grim and Ghost put together

Yes with all your retarted posts and arguments I thought that was abvious to everyone including you :urg:
People were talking about banning one or both of you permanently in the ACL thread ffs.

Most people liked my montage bar a few people on here and it always meant to be more of a cool/funny KO montage rather than leet skills. Your just butthurt coz you got owned in it ;)

Hardly worth calling it ****, Nova.

Honestly Jamage, this is just getting old and it's still as stupid as when it started in the RC thread.

Our arguments were never countered, as all counter arguments were ad hominem, ad populum, non sequitur and straw man fallacies (as we proved). My reasoning is just fine, thank-you very much.

We have never tried to boast that we are skilled players, or claim that our opinion should matter more than the top players or even insult anyone. Yet you all still feel the need to make yourselves feel better by talking down to us like you're still in primary school.

Yet you have the nerve to call us immature. :glare:

/endrant

Oh, and I'd suggest reading the thread again if you think most people liked your montage...

Site is so laggy atm.

I'll agree with Grim on one thing; a couple of the counter-arguments that are thrown his/Ghosts way are incredibly stupid.
People will get pi$$ed if someone who they don't know, who are relatively new to the tournament scene, start advocating that rules need to be changed.
It doesn't matter if they have unlimited knowledge, the majority of tournament people will flat out ignore/flame/troll people until they've played them a few times and decided that they're no longer awful and unexperienced.
At least in Australia, anyway - I don't read other country boards.

Ant

Typical cases of pseudo-intellectualism involve pre-pubescent 15 year olds (most common age, sometimes older/younger) that think they have everything figured out, including, but not limited to: life, religion, politics, education, and sex (if said person is accused of this, they will say they don't know everything to do with one or more of the examples, so, naturally they're correct in their own mind again). Ironically, they have never quite experienced either of the aforementioned. Almost always needs to counter anything that may disagree with their opinion and label it wrong and themselves right. Often come in pairs and annoyingly support one and other. Either by private discussions in which they deem everything stupid or ignorant while stroking each others egos or openly when one is having trouble (unable to convince someone of their so called intelligence/someone had the audacity to publicly disagree with them) with a normal person. Will often disagree with the norm or try to tell people that what they like is in someway inferior to what the pseudo-intellectual likes thus they should stop liking what the pseudo-intellectual doesn't approve of. Also see: Inferiority complex.

Should the victim of the verbal onslaught happen to have a differing opinion, the pseudo-intellectual will revert to his or her thesaurus and insult the opposition (or seem smarter by deliberately using rarely used words) with words he or she never knew existed, and probably cannot even pronounce. Also see: Loquaciousness, but it is not limited to large words. It's very likely that the pseudo-intellectuals will get quite annoyed if this is directly posted as it minimizes their importance and categorizes them into a certain type (which is ironically what they often do to others). Quote as a means of entertainment by watching how predictable the replies are. If this happens, simply respond with: I'm just the messenger. And yes, you can quote that part as well, they'll likely google parts of this anyway. The most common reaction is to pick these paragraphs to bits (probably along the lines of hypocrisy unaware of the age difference of the author) and write a huge response that only they will read; less common is sarcasm, laughing it off, or subtle agreeing (almost admission of defeat). It's very rarely ignored (espeically if they claim they have).

To casually interrupt, I live in Everard Park. I can't play brawl that well, but would enter the tourney anyways XD I play everyone but mainly fox/falcon. I'm free to play anytime as I just moved here and don't have a job yet but I don't think that would stop me anyways :)

I do think Grim & friend had a few valid arguments in the ACL thread, and they weren't rebutted very well by some people going against them. However, if you haven't already realised yet, your opinion only matters as much as your performance permits it, no matter how valid it is.

If you're not a good player, and no one has heard of you before, then people tend not to listen. No matter how correct you might be. Anyone with an opinion, has experienced this at one point or another.

There are also some members of the community in Australia who are just arrogant because of how well they have performed previously and wouldn'y listen even if they knew they were wrong. It would be wise to give up pointless arguing because, people will hate you for it and secondly, what did it achieve... Not very much except that people now hate you for it lol.

On a side note, this thread is actually far more interesting then QLD's equivilent.

Ah excellent, at least you don't live somewhere like in the Adelaide Hills. Grim is considering a meet this weekend and that would be a great opportunity to test out your skills.
