Haha. You should only tell the people who want to be told, mod. Don't ruin EVERYONE'S lives. lol.
You are one of those anti-spoiler people, aren't you?

I've seen some guides that have come out a month prior to the release date of their actual respective games, if that's what you're getting at.

Is that what you're trying to say? Because if not, then I apologize man.
No, your right. How do they do it? Just get an advanced copy.

I'm not, fool. I want to see it just as bad as you. I was joking. lol.

Still, it's funny that people come to this board don't want the characters spoiled for them.

Exactly my point. The most I would tolerate from an anti-spoiler bureaucracy is a separate forum for spoiler material. Naturally, I would dwell in the spoiler forum away from the anti-spoiler folks.

The only spoilers I am avoiding right now are what items will be available in Metroid Prime 3. The 5-missile lock from MP2 was one of my favorites, so I am eager to see what new toys are available in MP3. If I read a spoiler because I was browsing thread about MP3 then it is all my fault.

Brawl has nothing to spoil. I want to play and feel the game. No matter how much people post in the forums, that aspect cannot be spoiled for me. Locked characters? I'm going to use a guide. I want to be as competitive as possible as soon as possible.

I used 'as' 4x in one sentence. w00t!

Well, while all you people afraid of getting spoiled aren't going online for Brawl or on your computer, I'll be pwning noobs online and reading up on all the new advanced techs people have already discovered.

I'll read up on how to unlock everyone so I can get right to playing with who I like best against all my friends in non-online AND online.

To me, the shock of finding out what character is in the game isn't worth missing out on all those benefits.
yeah but i'm betting almost everyon on the site here besides smash lords and mods are going to be waiting and don't want the surprise ruined. and i can't believe that you're that obssessed with getting to know everythin right away. that ruins the fun. i laugh at you for being such of a loser that you want to try and own everyone before it comes out. you win some you lose some.

You are clearly not a competitive smasher. Contrary to what you believe, many people do want the "surprise" ruined. We who compete have minimal interest in unlocking the hidden content. People like you who think learning everything about the game (including its hidden characters/stages) ruins the fun obviously play for very different reasons than we do.

When I first purchased Melee, I also bought the player's guide to go with it. This was a violation of my "never use a guide on the first time through" rule, but I made the exception because Melee was a fighter game I wanted to gain skill in very quickly. Brawl will be the same way. I am buying it to experience the thrills of competing with other people. That is where my fun comes from. The thrill of unlocking characters and stages lasts a few seconds.

Fair enough. Just don't be upset when those surprises are ruined for you because you visited Smash World Forums. I'll be blatantly honest with you: if I discover the complete character roster from a reliable source, I will most definitely post it here in the forums. I would at least do the courtesy of making the thread title extremely clear (and not putting any character names in the title as well), but if you like surprises, these forums are not where you want to be. Trust me.

I argee, Buzz. If you don't like spoilers, don't come here. As for me, I want to know how to unlock every single character in the game just like I did with the two previous games so I can play them all.

I guess I'm for a sort of "spoiler forum" or something like that. That is, if Sakurai decides not to update with all characters right away.
I don't care much for discovering stuff myself ( not like I had a chance to, living in a PAL region ), but I'm still a sucker for drama. Spoilers should be in some way spectacular, not sudden and dull.

Although I guess I might as well just leave the forums for a while until all characters are up or so...
It really all depends on the way Sakurai will update.

Its just jealousy, they get to play it 2 weeks before we get it. They will spoil everything for us.
It will make the last few weeks for the game to release that much unbearable.
Hi. I'm European. I'd be happy if I got Brawl before February, at the earliest. I have to admit that, despite myself, I do feel a bit of sadistic pleasure in thinking you Americans are going to suffer a bit of what we suffer with every single game, but I think I have it controlled :p. But believe me, you'll live. At least it's only two weeks, not four whole months or more.

*sigh*
I wish some of you would stop labeling it a oxymoron for people who come to this site to not want to be spoiled.

I was on the TP forums every chance I could to find every slip or detail about the game months before it came out. But I jumped off when that as* hole reviewer person got the game a week or w/e ahead of us and spoiled it up to the 50% point on his blog. (Good thing nintendo told him to stfu and the blog site owner took his blog down (after nintendo asked them to))

Personality, I like to talk about everything known, rumored or officially said by a relieable source about a game or manga before it releases to try my hand at guessing just what it all means. Does that mean that I want to know the script for the next 10 chaps of Naruto or that I want to know what happens to Midna before I play TP? No. . .

I want to see most of the characters on my own when I play the game so no, Im not going to complain about Japan getting it sooner but I WILL stay off this forum/ the Nsider forums/ Gonintendo or any other gaming site I go to in the 10-11 days that they have it before I can get it (atlease til I buy the game).

Sad thing is that I go to a college that LOVES smash so chances are someones going to yell something out in class like " Man, you got to check out Zangoose on youtubes!!! He PWNS! Who knew that they would replace Pichu with another 2nd gen pokemon?!?!?!". I don't care about a few things slipping but I don't want to know the whole rooster before I get the game:ohwell:

i'm opposite. i mean there are characters i don't want and some i do want, and i would like to know if they are included before the game releases.

i don't care about spoilers. i mean i was REALLY dissapointed that game and watch was the last one to be unlocked. i thought it was going to be some big character, but instead i got...that. i wouldn't care if all the info was released tomorrow, but that's how i am

Me too colbusman. I want to know who is in the game. What's fun for me is finding out how to get them. That's one of the first things i'll do. I'll beat classic, SE, and whatever else they have with every character on every difficulity level. But it's always cool to hear that siren thing and see that silouhette of what you think is the character you've been waiting for forever. But whatever.

So I see everyone only likes one player for selfish reasons like unlocking characters! Shame! lol.

Oh well. At least nintendo'll hopefully get it right this time.

No that's definitely not the only reason I like one player blayde. I really can't wait to play SE. That looks kicka**.

I liked 1P ever since the first. In fact, I liked the original one better... back when it made sense. When only Donkey Kong was Giant, Kirby and Yoshi were teams, Mario and Luigi were brothers (they still are, but you know what I mean), and Mario was METAL!

But, hey... Adventure mode replaced it sense-wise. lol.

Getting back on topic, I'm gonna go ahead and say that this story is a fake... I haven't seen a single word of real confirmation besides the original Korean source about three links deep in the OP. I'll believe this when I see the scans.

Actually...it's more than just the magazine saying it. Japanese retailers are also listing the game to have Wi-Fi and to come out November 22nd. Retailers can be taken as the truth for release dates, so if that's the case, then Online can be taken as true as well. Also, you have to remember, Melee released on November 21st, so this release date for Brawl for Japan makes TOTAL sense.

It's just like our release date, Melee came out on Dec. 3rd and Brawl follows that same date. I'd take this as more truthful than a bunch of lies just because there's no scans of the mag yet. There's two sources as well, so there's more towards it than against it.

if it came from a source that has been known to be very reliable, then i believe it to be true. i mean something like this should pop up this week on smashbros
It didn't. The magazine is reliable, the claim that the magazine actually said it is not.

It makes so much sense that it sure makes for a convincing rumor, huh? The Japanese retailer story links to a German site that also doesn't provide a source. I haven't seen anything on either story that's actually in Japanese. Like I said, I'll believe it when I see some actual evidence. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Well, well.

We got a completely new character again. Looks like Ike wasn't an exception for once every few months or so. So I guess Sakurai will update with at least almost all characters before the game is out. Possibly, the big surprises will be left for the Japanese, who actually have a chance to find out stuff on their own.

Yeah, same here. Even if I see all the characters I sure as hell am going to try to avoid looking at he ways to obtain them. I want to pulverize every single-player mode looking for characters, and try to second-guess where they have hidden a particular one, and all that. It's really fun, and it still gives you a nice rush when you finally get that "Challenger Approaching!" screen :).

i think its good that the japanese get to play it first, it wouldnt seem right if it wasnt. but what im interested in is the australian release date.
and would a game from overseas be likely to work on our wiis? i know that for melee, there were a few bugs figured out after it's american release.
so, does anyone if it would work, or if there are any differences in the consoles?

The wii is not region free, a friend of mine found that out after a return to Japan he he he. You can get them modded but it isn't cheap, i would just wait i'm in the same boat as you.

So that means that when I get my Wii, I can play against anyone around the world? SSBB worldwide FTW!

It's not region free? That means I can't import it when you guys get it?

That is the worst news I've heard in ages.

(Apart from the European release date being May, luckily, Nintendo's website just dismissed that as a rumour)

I have to get my Wii modded to play around the world? If that's the case, forget it. I'm not going to mod anything at all. Besides, I have this thing against modding.

Ypu have to get it modded to play the Japanese or NTSC version of the game, we don't know if you can play others around the world yet but my guess would be yes.

Sorry if there is a thread like this already, i didn't see one so i made one.

As of recent Brawl has been confirmed by Coro Coro Japanese magazine and Japanese retailers that Brawl would release on the 22nd of November in Japan and would support an online wifi battle mode. Coro Coro is a very reliable magazine and Japanese retailers are for the most part regarding information right on the money.

So do you guys believe it? If this is indeed true i am going to be mad at Japan that they get Brawl sooner
