You think? You need to be sure Kiddy Kong is or is not in the game. I don't care either way but K. Rool supporters might care since they could see Kiddy Kong as a threat because of muh recency and muh relevancy.
Besides, K. Rool is being saved to be ViKing K. Rool. I'm guessing Kiddy or Funky.
He is a popular character. Not working doesn't mean you're not popular. It just means you don't work. Balloon Fighter is very popular, but according to Sakurai he doesn't work.
That's a great Final Smash, but it's not a move set.My moveset is about parodying the Duck Hunt gameplay itself and the duties of hunting dogs.
My moveset does not have Duck Hunt Dog using the Zapper.My moveset involves the hunter from the fourth wall (the person playing Duck Hunt) shooting at wherever Duck Hunt Dog points at.... since pointing is one of the duties that hunting dogs perform... This scene is what I had in mind for Duck Hunt Dog pointing fingers...
How about Ultra Hand? It was Nintendo's first monster success. It has appeared in Mario Power Tennis, WarioWare, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and it has its own game, Grill-Off with Ultra Hand! It could...uh...grab stuff...hmmmm.... Maybe it'd be better as an Assist Trophy...
To be honest, I'd expect Funky over Kiddy, Nintendo seems to have taken more a liking to him.

IIRC, there was an interview about the game that wasn't very kind to Kiddy Kong's chances, though I may be misremembering things.

This thread is designed for fans and supporters of the infamous dog from the classic shoot 'em up NES game, Duck Hunt.
These are my ideas for Duck Hunt Dog's special moves.
Duck Hunt Dog's standard special move is based on controlling a duck via the NES controller plugged into the 2P slot. The Dog simply releases a duck and then the duck flies around. The person who is playing Duck Hunt shoots the duck. There is a time limit when controlling a duck. If you take too long to shoot a duck, it will fly away after 5 seconds.
Duck Hunt Dog's side special move is based on the Clay Shooting mode. The Dog simply throws a clay pigeon like Link would throw his boomerang. The person who is playing Duck Hunt shoots the clay pigeon.
Duck Hunt Dog's up special move is inspired by ducks flying away. The Dog pulls out two ducks and hangs on to their feets as they all fly together.
Duck Hunt Dog's down special move is a high-risk, high-reward move where the Dog gets shot for laughing at the person who is playing Duck Hunt. If it is pulled successfully, the Dog could score a KO. If not, the Dog suffers 10% damage and is stunned for 3 seconds.
Duck Hunt Dog's Final Smash puts the NES Zapper in your hands as you play Duck Hunt with a Smash twist. You are given three shots and each shot can KO an opponent with one hit. Many ducks are obscuring your view - make each shot count!

King K.Rool maybe be popular with us but with kids/casuals he is pretty much non existent same with Ridley they will not bring hype to a majority of people

For starters, we already have a dog with a gun. The frisbee isn't really part of Duck Hunt, however Diskun can throw Disks which are part of the Disk System. Flying with Ducks is pretty similar to other moves, and since Duck Hunt Dog is a Famicom game and so many Famicom games transition to the Disk System I see no reason for him not to replicate something from a normal Famicom game.

No, Ridley can easily create bigger hype then either of them. Ridley is a very cinematic friendly character for starters due to his design, an evil space dragon has a lot of appeal in itself and create a lot of really awesome moments. That alone can entice people to want to try out Ridley.
That was still not where he originated. And, as someone else pointed out, even Lucario was technically revealed in a movie before any game appearances.
