Meh.. Hanafuda character is a better WTF choice though. Though if it is to dedicate the first Smash Bros. N64, I guess I wouldn't mind.

To elaborate, I expect Charizard + (one) gen 2-5 pokemon + gen 6 pokemon, for PkMn trainers pokemon. Something just feels like it's gonna happen, but we'll definitely see there.


I don't quite seeing it as serious with Lucario as it was with Mewtwo, or even Roy.



I quite simply don't like Sonic or Megaman. That's all there is regarding this.

I do think a multi-gen trainer is a good way to represent multiple generations. With the advent of X&Y starters, though, I'm doubting it a lot.

Scenario: Brawl is in development and time is getting scarce. The best option is to cut characters to save time.
Dr. Mario: "We already have Mario. So long, doc!"
Roy: "We're already adding in Ike, perhaps we can rotate out Roy."
Mewtwo: "We're already adding in Lucario, perhaps we can rotate out Mewtwo."


Calling it "forgoing" instead of "replacing," due to the two characters filling conceptually similar niches.

Fine, believe what you wish. But Mewtwo was never replaced. He was "forgone", but not replaced, which is what you really believe.

You were advocating over and over again that Mewtwo was replaced, then when people started asking you, you basically said: "No, he was taken out, not replaced!"

Maybe you did simply mistake, but based on the posts that followed that, you meant replaced. I don't want to discuss it anymore.

Sakurai doesn't give a crap about generational representation, he nearly skipped Melee not adding Pichu if it wasn't for clones and didn't bother with Gen 3. Lucario got in on his own merits, not because of some "we need to represent all generations!" mentality.

Except he wasn't even "forgo," he just slightly missed the time slot. He was the farthest ahead of any newcomer, if they wanted to replace (or whatever) him with Lucario, they wouldn't have bothered to even give him that much.

That's why Brawl was a spin-off, because it had Rick Wheeler in disguised as Captain Falcon, instead of the true God of Knees in as a playable character.

Looks good. Only thing for me is...

- Goroh will probably make AT again

Nerd moment, but am I the only one thinking Power Rangers based on the colors (purple can be used as black though)? That, and Red should be in the middle for being the one capturing the Pokemon

I wouldn't go as far to say that. Sakurai changes his mind on a lot of things and there were only 2 generations at that time. Having 6 generations, but only 8 from 1? Doesn't seem very logical to me. There should be at least ONE Pokemon that is from a newer gen and Lucario is already too damn iconic to get rid of.
