I wish it was Skyward Sword Link. That is half the reason that I am not even going to bother attempting to main him again. I am just going straight for Toon Link this time. I am mostly salty because Zelda might still be TP Zelda. That would devastate me.

Zelda will be exactly what Link is. A whole new look with a bright color scheme, but based on her TP appearance. The same can be said for Ganondorf, though I hope he's faster.

Nintendo barely has anything to do with the development of Smash Bros, sans funding it and probably asking for some help promoting their other games via Smash Bros. character reveals, stage reveals, and other such reveals.

Seriously, Nintendo outsourced the new Smash Bros. game(s) to another studio for the second(-ish) time.

If Nintendo wanted total control over Smash Bros., they'd have a R&D Team at Nintendo's HQ make the game.

That's what I'm saying. If some Melee fans can make him stand out more from Marth, Sakurai can. I mean they even changed Marth's B a bit in Brawl meaning Roy can still have his epic charge up move and not be copying Marth. Roy's moveset potential is quite good; the fire really does add a lot more depth, regardless of those who complain it doesn't. It does, as Sakurai clearly thought so in Melee, hence his addition instead of some other FE lord to copy Marth.

It all comes down to priority. Who does the Smash development team think has the priority in regards to adding the most as a playable character. I'm sure Roy is/was in the discussion, but the question is, did he make the cut=???

Nintendo's (not Sakurai, seeing as there are little ads right below characters repping a game) obviously going to reveal a Pokemon next. Seriously why would they reveal anybody else. That just clashes with Pokemon hype if they released, say Ridley.

Yeah, you wanna grow the hype, not nuke it. Revealing a Pokémon newcomer grows the Pokémon anticipation, as well as help bring some of those Pokémon fans all aboard the SMASH WII U AND 3DS HYPE TRAIN!!! WOO-HOOO!!!!

I agree. With that, I can only see Pokemon Trainer or Mewtwo as the best rep for Pokemon. They are the main parts of this release: the main character and the most hyped-for Pokemon.

Don't get me wrong. I would love Mewtwo. I think it is in Sora Ltd.'s best interest to save him for later. That might just be me. I am also fairly certain that Pokemon Trainer isn't completely done yet. I suppose they could have enough done if they prioritized him for X and Y. I just don't know if that is relevant though. It really depends on how far they are in development. I like to think that the game will come out Q2 at the latest. Most people think it will be Q4. So I wouldn't doubt that he is done, I just don't know if he is done. That is why I am leaning on Charizard, Lucario, or Jigglypuff. However, I am voting against Lucario because of the common misconception that he replaced Mewtwo. I wouldn't want to confuse my fans. So that is why I am adamant that Charizard or Jigglypuff will be revealed.

yea, it isn't SS Link. It looks more like the Wii U Tech Demo Link.

That's really unfortunate, I haven't looked at his moveset in this game, and didn't know he had the same weapons as Brawl. I was just judging by pictures I've seen in passing that suggested his outfit is more SS (blue gauntlets, brighter hair, brighter outfit, baggier pants).

Link's appearance seems to be a mix of Ocarina of Time (adult) Link, Twilight Princess Link, and Skyward Sword Link. Still, it is clear the vibe of the design seems to be from that Zelda Wii U Tech Demo, which is probably what Link on Zelda Wii U is gonna look like.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zelda got a similar treatment, although her Skyward Sword outfit would be a nice touch. However, Zelda's Twilight Princess redesign has gotten better fanfare than Link's, especially since a lot of people felt her blonde hair looked kinda weird in Ocarina of Time and Melee (it was just too bright and blonde, lol!!!).

As for Sheik, I'd rather go for some Melee-Brawl design hybrid. I like the "edgy" feel of the Brawl design, but I just love the classic "look" and "feel" so much from Ocarina of Time. Finding that right medium for the design of Sheik's outfit(s) would be so freaking rad to see.

I would love if Charizard got his own spot on the roster, instead of Pokemon Trainer. While I did like the concept of Pokemon Trainer, Charizard was my favorite character out of the three to play as.

Yeah, Nintendo likes blonde too much. I'm glad Zelda became Brunette in Brawl to differentiate herself from ZSS and Peach. Dirty blonde would be good too. (Link seems to be getting more brunette each new picture that has him.)

I didn't like him too much. I am more of an Ivysaur guy. I have only tried Charizard a couple of times and he has some serious hit box problems that I don't encounter with ANY other character in the game. I would honestly want them to revamp his move-set too. It was boring to me. However, I am not the primary demographic. He will want to please Charizard fans. It would be nice to see him get a few buffs though.

See but now you're saying that Nintendo answers to Sakurai in this regard. The execs at Ninty were most likely the ones who said, "Hey Sakurai, we want you to reveal characters that strategically promote games in which these 'promotional reveal' characters appear in." Nintendo doesn't have to present jack to Sakurai, they're the bosses. They tell him what's what, and he really has no choice in the matter. Of course he makes the most decisions about Smash, but Ninty has the final say in every one of Sakurai's decisions, if they so choose. And they chose to "run", so to speak, the character reveals to further promote their upcoming games.

Something that Scoliosis Jones (Booker) said in a different thread resonated with me. Pokemon Trainer is 3 characters in one. Would we really get 3 character reveals right after Sonic? In the same month? Pokemon Trainer might be revealed for Pokemon's Anniversary. Mewtwo would undoubtedly be saved for later. This means that is comes down to Lucario in Jigglypuff (to me anyways). I also think that Lucario would confuse fans about Mewtwo's return because of the common misconception surrounding the two. So Jigglypuff is the most rational (to me).

Jigglypuff is one of many Pokemon who have the new Fairy type, which does not have nearly as much excitement attached to it.

You made me believe that Pokemon Trainer would be revealed during the anniversary of Pokemon. The month of February. Right at the end. Valentines day maybe. Then again, people are speculating that a Tropical Freeze character will join in Feb. I have rationalized Jigglypuff in so many different ways. I am just going to go with her.

I think he is going more from series to series, if there is no especial event or launch of a big title to include a character from that series, he will reveal in this particular order Pokemon/Zelda and then continue with Donkey Kong/Kirby/StarFox to finish with Metroid/Kid Icarus/Fire Emblem/Earthbound probably but this is all speculation from my part.

No, Peach was revealed on Mario's Anniversary. And Luigi was revealed because of the Year of Luigi. I don't think it's a coincidence for a 5th Mario character.
