Possibly. I would hope for Bowser Jr. or Paper Mario. But Toad still seems the most likely of those options.

I think it was coincidental that we have the 4. Mario and Bowser were revealed at E3 just so they can be revealed, and the fact that Bowser has changed substantially. Luigi was promoting Dream Team, and it was the Year of Luigi.

I think Sakurai just revealed Peach to get Mario out of the way, and that the anniversary was the perfect time to showcase her. He probably thought to himself: "Oh, well we all know all the Mario characters will be back so let me get them out the way first!"

There could be a newcomer for Mario, and it could be likely to see that newcomer since we already have the main four. But I doubt that was the reason.

Funny thing is... say Lucario did get revealed (I think he is pretty likely unless they replaced PKMN Trainer with Charizard), your avatar would be so relevant. So if we do get Jigglypuff, you don't have to change your avatar. If Jigglypuff isn't revealed, your avatar sends a message! It is perfect.

It's definitely possible, as mentioned before, with all four Mario Veterans revealed Mario 3D land would be the good opportunity to reveal a newcomer to the world and hype up the Wii U.

One of the bad parts about fans predicting rosters is most of them fail so separate what they want from reality.

True, mewtwo, lucario, and charizard would indeed providence more hype, but if they NEVER had a mega evolution, most fans would not even consider their chances of getting in. Jigglypuff on the other hand has been in from the start meaning he is almost certain to get in. And if you want to add the "new" additions for X and Y, he also gets fairy type, which increases his almost certain chances. Now the only other factor is when he will be revealed, will it be this week, or an unlock able character when the game is released?

Considering all of that, if a pokemon is revealed it will most likely be Jigglypuff.

I'll leave people alone if they think it can happen (personal opinion is it won't but I won't argue that again for fear of being ruthlessly destroyed).
However I can't let someone believe Toad is the most likely. To me Bowser Jr. is the most likely, but that's just me.

I don't understand the logic in a Toad being in a move set if there is also a playable one. This isn't like Toon Link where one looks completely different and is just in the background. It makes no sense to have Toad as a human sheild and also playable, not to mention why is a Toad being used as a human sheild against another Toad?

3. Relevancy only plays a role based on the premise that Sakurai is cross-promoting everything.
4. He is easy to develop, he "fits" in Smash. The color pallet mechanic is great for Toad.
5. Sakurai might want to prove that Toad isn't stuck in Peach's move-set. Hence the immediate disclaimer he posted.
6. There aren't any other Mario characters that really fit the bill aside from Waluigi.
7. A good candidate to represent Mario Party, Mario Kart, and Mario Sports.

But, the fact that he is part of a move set makes no sense for him to be playable.

There aren't any other Mario characters that really fit the bill aside from Waluigi.

Waluigi fits the bill over Bowser Jr & Paper Mario??? He doesn't even fit the bill at all. What reason does he have to be over them and to be the only other Mario character to fit in. I'd see Metal or Dr. Mario before him.

Just cause peach's moveset might be changed is all (for the record im not a toad supporter, don't really care for mario newcomers), toad would make the most sense imo. if sakurai wants to go a different route bowser jr is next in line.

I don't really view that as a valid argument... mostly because... nothing makes sense in Smash. You can have 3 Toon Links all wearing the same color battle in front of Spirit Tracks Link. One just turns white and the other turns black for some reason. Lets not forget that the 4th playable character could be Pikachu. A character that has NOTHING to do with Zelda.

I also forgot to add that I want a character that represents Mario Party, Mario Kart, and Mario Sports. So Toad or Waluigi get my vote.

5. Doubtful. Sakurai obviously doesn't view him as being a big deal or character-worthy since he has once again reprised his role as meat-shield, just like what happened pre-Brawl. Everyone said that being shown as Peach's Special in Brawl meant nothing; and look, he didn't make Brawl.

Well, there was Kirby's aerial hammer in Brawl's E3 Trailer. There it looked like it did in Melee, but it got a different animation in the end.

Granted, that's a minor detail, but still.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I understand that the character is popular. I never said I myself wanted Toad, just that he's a viable option. I do know that Toad is still a move for Peach, but technically, there's hundreds of them with that design, you could take any Toad and throw them in as a playable character if you wanted to. I guess "MUH RECENCY" would barely help his chances. As I said before, I still prefer Paper Mario or Bowser Jr. to be playable instead of Toad any day of the week. But to say he's completely dis-confirmed might be jumping a little bit.

That all makes more sense than Sakurai making a character a human sheild just so he can be used against another one of him. At least Spirit Tracks Link looks completely different and is just operating a train.

Again the roster is planned out from the beginning. He doesn't decide characters as he develops. The only time he changed his mind was at the last minute with Sonic, the most requested and iconic character

I mean it is one of the best series of this generation of games, maybe even ever made. Story-telling is phenomenal, and all the kinks that pop up immediately get fixed in the sequels.

2. I was attempting to covey that he is playable in a few Mario games (the Wii U ones). Bowser Jr. is not.
3. Just the cross promotion aspect. That is all I am getting at. He would be the BEST character to reveal for Super Mario 3D World.
4. I honestly think Jr. would be a clone. I shouldn't have said the first part. That was an assumption on my part.

And on a side note, please go play them now. You are missing out....massively. Hehe.
I mean it is one of the best series of this generation of games, maybe even ever made. Story-telling is phenomenal, and all the kinks that pop up immediately get fixed in the sequels.

I'm waiting until there's a Complete Trilogy Pack with all the DLC. I don't want to spend $30 on a trilogy pack only to find out there is $90 more of DLC to play the whole games' experience.
