I can touch the Ocean from here.
I'll throw in my bet that its going to be Mewtwo with only Mewtwo Y for final smash. A friend of mine thinks its a dumb idea for some reason, but I'm sticking to it.

As for Fire Emblem..... Yeah. I'll flip a coin for my bet hahaha

would like it to be like Zelda/Sheik transform thing
but some people say they can't do that because thats not how mega evolution work in pokemon (people think Smash follows rule and logic of other games  )
Regarding the "logic" bit in brackets. I do believe that non-canon games shouldn't break the series' logistics. Otherwise, it misrepresents the series.

His mega-evos require different items, so you couldn't switch between them mid-battle.

What I thought could be done is that each character could get multiple final smashes to choose from, and for Mewtwo, mega Y and mega X could be his options.

This is full of idiots...
SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I LEAVE=????
Gods in the heavens, this cannot be, another violently outrageous SaturnGamer64/TheDivineDeity conflict!?!

EDIT: And now SaturnGamer64/Hotfeet444 again? This threads is more than akin to combustion than conversation.
Wow, it didn't even take this guy 8 weeks to realize what's up, lol!!!
This game is about Nintendo characters right? A celebration of Nintendo characters.
I'd drop the Nintendo characters part, and just make it about Nintendo, and its' biggest worlds clashing (some owned by Nintendo, some not).

Honestly, I'm not too sure we'll be seeing the X one.
It was revealed rather late and nonchalant as compared to the Y one getting huge promotion before everyone knew Mega Evolutions even existed.

The X one I'm more willing to bet will be featured in the upcoming Pokken Fighters game that has yet to be officially announced due to its status as a martial artist.
Oh snap forgot about that isn't that also being developed by Namco?

Mewtwo's Y form seems more likely to me, it was shown first and caused more hype. Not sure if that means much, though, it does make a bit more sense to show the Y form first if they planned to use that one in Smash 4.

Heck we could get both forms in some way. I still think the Y form is more likely.

Regarding the "logic" bit in brackets. I do believe that non-canon games shouldn't break the series' logistics. For example, I used to think Shulk was a really bad choice because (don't read if you don't want any spoilers from Xenoblade, though it isn't a major one):

I would apply that rule to Pokemon as well. His mega-evos require different items, so you couldn't switch between them mid-battle.

What I thought could be done is that each character could get multiple final smashes to choose from, and for Mewtwo, mega Y and mega X could be his options.
I should have made this part clear they don't have to follow other games logic on smaller stuff like Pikachu isn't super effective against against Charizard stuff like that

We have two triforce attacks, two bows of light, two pk star storms and 3 land masters some those final smashes don't even make sense for certain people (pk star storm, land master's...) yet we can't have two mega evolutions that make sense and do different things?

Hint: It will be many rosters.

Oh yeah, that's true. I forgot.

Hmm....I still don't like the idea of more transformables, though.

I do think that if Namco is getting a character in SSB4, it is going to be Pac-Man.

Sakurai loves his unorthodoxical characters... Mr. Game & Watch, Ivysaur, R.O.B., Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer...
Plus Pac-Man is such an iconic character that Sakurai and his team would have thought of how Pac-Man would work as a playable character even before even developing the game.

I think people often judge Pac-Man as an awful choice because of Street Fighter x Tekken, but that was developed by Crapcom. Sakurai and his returning crew from previous smash games are a lot smarter than that with making character movesets, as are the people at Namco Bandai developing these 2 forthcoming smash games.

I'm sure if they add Pac-Man (I'm near positive they will) that it will be justified by Pac-Man having an amazing playstyle, moveset, and skillset. And if they don't add Pac-Man, it will because they couldn't think of that enough to warrant the spot of a playable character. In my opinion it really is as simple as that with Pac-Man.

And yeah, if there's a Namco Bandai character, it's almost surely Pac-Man (there is a slight chance we get the character that is deemed the main icon of Tekken, however).

Being iconic doesn't make you work as a playable character. Having a potential move set does.

No, there isn't a chance for a Tekken character.
Sakurai stated that fighting game characters don't merge well with Smash.

While people may disagree about how true that is, it's a pretty big indicator we're not getting someone from Tekken if Namco gets a character.

Ugh, I REALLY hope they keep Tekken out of smash. I really hope Tekken requests in Japan are not as popular as Sakurai made them out to seem.

I trust Sakurai to go with the iconic character. And with all of his third party choices to date, he has been.

Edit:
Being iconic doesn't make you work as a playable character. Having a potential move set does.
Being iconic gets you priority consideration. Having a unique potential moveset gets you in... As well as a bunch of other factors.

Not what I'm saying. What I am saying is that because Pac-Man is so iconic, Pac-Man being playable in smash bros had to have been thought of and brainstormed by Sakurai and co for a while, even subconsciously. Like they had to have thought of it the same way they had to have thought of King Dedede, Diddy Kong, Wario, and Sonic pre-Brawl.

Of course, that doesn't mean Pac-Man will or won't be playable, only that Sakurai would have had a "head start" on his creative process with Pac-Man. Actually, I bet Sakurai had a "head start" on the Villager (trolling with those comments), Mega Man, and the Wii Fit Trainer too.

I agree with this logic usually, but 3D fighters are a different enigma than 2D fighters. IMO there is no doubt Tekken characters would fit in a lot better than Street Fighter or BlazBlue characters.

Still, a Tekken character would not be my preference, but I do recognize there is a very, very, very small chance of them being playable in smash.

If Mewtwo Y were to be the only mega form present in SSB4 as a final smash or something just because of being promoted earlier like in the Genesect movie, then they may as well not have mega forms in the game at all, if you ask me. Of course like with Ytwo, Sakurai likely knew about the existence of Mewtwo's X form and other stuff before any of us ever did, so who knows what'll happen far as those being in the game.

At this point though I would still take even Psystrike or something over a mega form FS for Mewtwo (especially if it's the Y form), so as to keep a limit on the amount of generic transformation-based final smashes.

I'm pretty sure Sakurai said he wouldn't include characters from other fighting games...

Yeah, Sakurai won't be including any other Fighter game characters. At least, not for Smash 4. His views on the matter could change for later on, but it's not happening for this game.

What if each of the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon gets their own Final Smash instead of sharing the same?

Squirtle and Ivysaur could have Hydro Cannon and Frenzy Plant respectively.
Hydro Cannon could be an horizontal water jet that would push the foes off the stage while dealing damage over time.
Frenzy Plant would involve Ivysaur unleashing a massive amount of thorns around him that would launch surrounding foes upward.

Charizard could transform into one of his Mega Evolutions at random and use Fire Blast, by shooting the move's trademark giant 大 that would devastate any foe who would come in contact with it. If it was Mega Charizard X shooting, the Fire Blast would have blue flames.

Lucario could transform into Mega Lucario while unleashing his Aura Storm Final Smash.

I think the Mega Evolutions could be just aesthetic stuff for Final Smashes. It would give the vibe that the Pokémon was using the full extent of their power.

Axes and Tomes and DLC only, and Bows aren't GL weapons. He uses swords and lances in his most iconic appearances.
And? Regardless of the canonicity and/or likelihood of him being able to use the weapons, it is possible for him to use them, which is my objection to "he uses only a lance".

True, but I don't think he's a great choice because he probably won't use them. If he uses all of those weapons in a Smash appearance, ok. If he doesn't, it seems pointless in a way.

The way I worded that makes it look like I want Chrom to use them in Smash. I meant it's possible for him to use them in Awakening.

He can use Axes w/o DLC by reclassing to GK.

Though I have to say, if Chrom showed up as a Dread Fighter I'd be a bit more interested in him.

herp. I forgot he had Cavalier as a reclass option. Yeah, if Chrom was a Dread Fighter (which probably won't happen), I'd be okay with it honestly.

I hope I'm a part of that roster, John. :troll:

On the current topic, don't expect Chrom to use anything other than Swords or Lances if he appears. Going by precedent.

Captain Falcon, Zelda, Ice Climbers, Mr. Game and Watch, ROB, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer say hey.

I definitely expect a sword. Nothing else. It's sad that FE never got to expand from swords in Smash, there are many different options.

I was playing Brawl today. I decided to play with characters who have yet to be confirmed. I had a match playing Lucas against Wario, R.O.B., and Captain Falcon. It was fun.

God, I really hope Lucas gets in the next game. He's so much fun to play as.

I'm crossing my fingers for Lucas, Ness, and Ice Climbers, those are all of my mains.
I'm sure Ice Climbers and Ness are fine. The one I'm worried about is Lucas, but I hope that he will be in.

Louie, Scrooge? I think that would have more Disney legal issues than Sora, don't you think?

Hey guys, I started a new character thread if you want to check it out. I'm advertising it just cuz.
I would be okay with Scrooge McDuck, but I think you should've done some more research on him before making a thread.

You mean the guy who supports Sheriff? :troll:
Very hypocritical actually.
So true... he supports Sheriff when Sheriff has little to no moveset potential but he says Pac-Man can't get in because he falsely believes that Pac-Man has no moveset potential?
