Brawl's design was an original one. He already had a makeover.

Before Toon Link make it to the confirm characters, he was cut from many of my rosters for the same reason, but I learned from one Interview that Sakurai always did consider to make two links one child and one grown up to represent both parts of the series in each game, thats the reason of the inclusion of Toon Link. Second Falco has seniority it has been in two game and probably he will be up again in the new Smash, I wish Sakurai would Luigified more Falco so it can get further and further from Fox until he has his own moveset the same goes for Ganondorf (I never like that he has the same moveset as Captain Falcon and I hope he gets his own moveset now, at least there are more games in the series, where Sakurai can get material for a complete new overhaul in Ganondorf).

By the way you can´t compare a series like Mario and Zelda as to what is StarFox or Eartbound/Mother, even if they get similar movesets from one and another. The StarFox Series is really in a tight spot I did not believe what did Sakurai did with the StarFox series in Brawl, so far the three reps have a very similar kit thats why at least I think Wolf will get the axe.

Takamaru, is because of popularity and fan requests from both (the East and the West) and also Sakurai say he wants to bring a retro character back like the Ice Climbers and Pit. Who will be? My guess is good as yours, so please tell me, who do you think from the retro characters can comeback and have a really cool moveset potential? For one I say Harry, Hakkun, Donbe and Hikari, and the Marvelous Boys (Dion, Max and Jack) would be more interesting than Takamaru, but again the fan demand is bigger with him and the character seems getting new life from the many games that he has make a cameo for example Nintendo Land, Captain Rainbow and others.

The reality is that you think you have every reason to discard what I say when in reality you haven´t given me anything to change my mind as to why Wolf, Lucas or Lucario should take over Snake, especially Wolf and Lucas (and being a villain is not a reason).

I don´t know why you bring the comment of you defending G&W, Ice Climbers and Ness two years ago, but if we did meet in that time I would probably support that idea by that time, the reason is because Ice Climbers represents a sole series on their own, the same with G&W (and both have unique movesets). Ness has seniority thats the reason as why he is over Lucas and will be forever. If Lucas did come first he will be the one standing and the axed would be Ness but because thats not the case, I can´t do anything at all about that.

I'm not trying to convince you because I don't care enough to do so. You're entitled to your opinion as much as I am. We can agree on that. But you're the one with Roy in your roster who is far more similar to Marth than Lucas is to Ness. I'm not holding Lucas higher than Snake the way you think, I just think it's preposterous that a 3rd party character would be prioritized over a 1st party character. But again, the roster was made by you. You don't speak for Sakurai as well as myself and everyone else.

Lucario is nothing like Mewtwo. I'm sure they spent plenty of time crafting a new moveset for Lucario. The only simalarity is the Aura Sphere and Shadowball. That's pretty much it. Wolf is completely different and I don't consider him much of a clone. Wolf's mechanics are nothing like Fox or Falco's. He only shares 2 movesets that are heavily altered. Wolf isn't very similar to Fox or Falco, so no, that's incorrect. If you look at him superficially, then you have a point. But again, you have Roy in there. And you contradict yourself.

I don't know where you get the idea of Takamaru being requested. I hardly see it outside of Smashboards. I definitely wouldn't mind a newcomer from the past to show up in Smash 4, so I'm not against the idea.

At least, judging from your avatar, I would assume you're a fan of the series. I can see Andy, Max, Sammi or Griffin bringing fun and unique movesets to Smash Bros. It'd probably be better to use your own military-esque properties vs using someone else's property and going through licensing to use Snake.

Too ugly though. But it's very reminiscent of OoT Ganondorf, so I'm a bit okay with it. Makes me think that the Zelda team will make Ganondorf look like OoT for this upcoming game.

For the next reveal, if it is a Pokemon reveal, my money is on Jigglypuff or Pokemon Trainer. I feel like they'll save Mewtwo and even Lucario for later due to Mewtwo being a very good hype boost, and Lucario most likely having a some Mega Form influence.

I feel they would use a character actually being promoted alongside X/Y, aka not Jiggs. Having a Fairy-type doesn't outweigh getting a MegaEvolution, they're what GF is focusing on now. And even if Sakurai doesn't want to show a possible Mega Evolution of Mewtwo/Lucario/whoever, he could still show the standard character now, and have the Mega Evolution aspect of their moveset (or however its implemented) revealed at a later date. Though now would be the time to do it.

Could be the Trainer (though he wouldn't be my guess) but only because the Kanto starters are sort of back in the spotlight again.

You're very right about the promotion thing. With that in mind, I'd guess a Lucario reveal over a Jiggs reveal. I would guess Mewtwo, but he's just too likely to be shown at an E3 in my eyes.

Right but Jiggs is a "safe" reveal so to speak. Of course she isn't related to it, but I guess you're right about Lucario, could be him too. Honestly I think it is up to PKMN Trainer, Jiggs, and Lucario. Just not Mewtwo. He'd be too big of a reveal this early.

But the thing is that Snake never took the spot of Lucas, thats my problem, the characters that did take the spot are Shulk, Takamaru, Little Mac or the Mii. I know Lucario is nothing like Mewtwto except for that and I forgot to write in my previous post that the reason of cutting Mewttwo it was because for one in Brawl Sakurai did have a lot of time constrains and for the second the moveset of Mewtwo was horrible so I expect that with the inclusion again of him in the new smash it will get a overhaul from head to feet to be better balanced with the whole cast, Wolf is very similar with Fox and Falco, but that dosen´t make much difference and the inclusion of Roy in my roster was becuase he is one of the top requested characters from the West and from the East and that dosen´t make a clone maybe he will receive an overhaul like i´m expecting with Mewtwo.

Where did I get the idea? Have you read a thread called what does the East request or something like that, I think is below here in this forum and there are many requested characters like Shulk, King K. Rool, Roy, Mewtwo and one of the requested characters that is retro is Takamaru, other retro characters dosen´t come close to it, the same is happening with the West, is becoming more famous and the people is getting to know more about him because of the various cameos that the character has been in recent games, like Nintendo Land and Captain Rainbow.

It dosen´t seem for me like that at all, your are discussing a character like Snake that is 3rd party to come back and comparing it to characters like Lucas, Lucario and Wolf that each has their main protagonists represent their series so they are not necessary especially because two of them have a lot of similarities in their kit with the main protagonists and the third is suffering to get a spot because is competing with other three potential candidates.

Because you say so, so Lucas will stay with Ness forever and ever (when Lucas gets three installments into the series you can say that to me until then is a blank statement). When Nintendo realese Earthbound 3 in the west then you can talk until then for me the series is still in standby and not growging ata all even if his Director want that the people enjoy more of the series. I don´t know if you are aware that Sakurai and Kojima are close friends too, I´mean thats why in the first place Snake went into Smash Bros, oh and it hurts a lot if two characters from a series that is dead has two character slots because then you can´t get more space for a new series or a new characters that can bring something new to the table.

Wher the hell did you think Sam, Max, Andy, Grit or even Nell will play as the same as Snake when none of the characters has show similar moveset or even getting close to show something like that is like taking Bandana Dee and put the moveset of Zelda so it can substitute, say character it dosen´t make sense, thats why every character that Sakurai brings to Smash is so unique because of the background, the development, the money and resources so the character can came close as to what he plays or resemblance as to what he can do in his series and thats why I´m telling you is not something as easy as you think to throw all that hard work to garbage and say you know what the 9 months that we work so hard to implement the character can go directly to hell, I mean we don´t need him in the next installment of the series.

My problem is with your reasoning that you have purist look in Smash, where third parties can go to hell and never comeback and no one will care and for me thats not right because of what each character brings to the series, with all the though behind and their unique kit, is so much and lets not forget about the resources that went on that character so it can be created, my problem is that you can kick off a lot more characters that have similar skill set as other characters and the repercussion will be less of a bother.

I agree, personally I think the next veteran reveal will be Lucario or PT since the former has a Mega Evolution that can be promoted through him and the latter's getting Origins and his Pokemon available in XY. Mewtwo could get revealed, but as Pacack said, he could easily be pushed off due to being a popular character that will easily get the hype going.

It's nice to see Sonic back in Smash, I also jizzed my pants at that Super Mario 3D World trailer. I guess now that Third-Parties are returning, Bomberman is out of the question (assuming Sakurai cares he was only bought out by Konami) :ohwell:

So what say you about Ridley not being shown in that clip. Too short or Ridley confirmed?

As for Dr. Mario, I think having fitness trainer may make him less priority, but I think having a Doctor was the coolest character

Very well, I suppose you have a point there. But he still isn't the first character, he's more like the first protagonist.

So from what I am reading, you're telling me that it would make sense to prioritize something not represented. But have you forgotten the arcade has already been represented twice? So considering that, wouldn't there be more priority towards representing, say the Virtual Boy? That's something that hasn't been represented at all in previous smash games.

I'll admit it, I was a little misinformed about what EVR Race actually was.
Sheriff is still a pretty "meh" choice. But that's my opinion I suppose, I just don't think he can bring anything new and worthy to the table in comparison to other retro characters. He just doesn't scream "unique" to me.

All in all, Sheriff is the first Nintendo character according to the definition of what a character is. Furthermore, you keep saying the Arcade is already represented. So was the NES in Melee, but Sakurai went searching for characters ONLY from NES. (not counting references and ports within another game.)

I still think his game style adds some potential and is probably the best throwback character not from an NES game. The fact that he's been referenced before makes him a likely candidate. I don't base retro characters on how recently they've been referenced and I highly doubt Sakurai does either. So Sheriff is a somewhat likely candidate.
I do admit he might be a little unimpressive so you are right about that, but Sakurai is good at making things work.

I know you aren't serious, but since other people usually are: Where do we draw the line between who's important to a series plotwise, and who's important to a series reality wise? People are like Demise should be in cuz he's responsible for the existence of this and that when in actuality he doesn't mean **** to the overall series as an icon.

So with Sonic revealed, that's our first character of October. Pokemon is most likely next.

With Sonic being a returning guest character, what will happen with Snake do with think? I think he's coming back myself but this for all of us to discuss. I really just see no real reason to exclude him. He was a welcome addition.

While he isn't really a "Nintendo" character, I still think he made himself a spot in the roster.
