I thought Krystal would stand out as a fighter among the Star Fox characters. She could have a staff based moveset using the special moves (and normal attacks) from Star Fox Adventures. Among the members of the Star Fox team, she kinda got established as the ground-unit specialist after that, so I thought she'd work especially well in SSB.

A mix between her staff and the big gun could make for an interesting moveset.

If you honestly think that, then you're pretty blind to what's really going on around you. The big reason I see for people wanting Krystal is not because she's hot, it's because she has a different style of play that's interesting.

And I'm aware, and in truth and honesty it's a terrible reason to hate a character since almost every character has some porn to them. Hell, it's the damn rule that everything must have porn of it if it's on the internet.

Well in the last 3 games of the Star Fox series (Adventures, Assault, and Command) Krystal was a pretty big inclusion and pushed character for the series.

So her inclusion would at least make sense. Especially if she is still there when the series returns.

Jiggs and Doc are equal in match-ups as well, it seems. Jigglypuff sports a higher tier placement, however. How will he turn this around?

Seriously you think the new MGS games will sell as well in both the Sony console and the Nintendo console, yeah right, let me say NO, because each system goes to specific target audience, even Nintendo says that (They are not competing with Sony nor Microsoft because they are doing they're own thing) after the Gamecube era Nintendo prefer to separate himself from the competition making it so it will have his own market, Sony and Microsoft did get the other market thats when many of the publishers start to disappear from Nintendo consoles especially the west developers (Europe and North America) because they consider that their games were not suitable for the audience that did have the Wii, DS, 3DS and now WiiU is because Nintendo did went another route that is completely on his own. So let me say this again the reason the other Castlevenias and Contra did well it was because of nostalgia and relation with their first games if the new Castlevania would be gameplay wise as the other counterparts it would be better received.

You still haven't given me a legit explanation as to why you think Lucas, Lucario or Wolf would be cut besides the "Sakurai spent a lot of time working on Snake's moveset to let it go to waste". That applies to EVERY character. Snake isn't a special case, hun. Snake's moveset is not even ALL that special like you really think it is. You're blatantly saying that a 3rd party character has more a chance to return than a first party character. That's really silly to me. Hell, Wolf was requested for Brawl and I see him staying. We need an antagonist from the Star Fox series and Wolf is suitable for that position. I can't see Mewtwo replacing Lucario when the latter still has a strong presence.

And what makes you think that Lucas, Wolf or even Lucario are especial at all and are above of Snake (because of the third party, that always fall because of the inclusion of Mega Man, Sakurai did work hard to make him playable is the same for Snake he will requested again). You haven´t give any single reason as to not cut Lucas, Wolf or Lucario, for one the Earthbound/Mother series can be represented by one character like the F-Zero series is, Erathbound/Mother do not require two characters at all especially if both are similar, is like comparing Falco, Fox and Wolf (I will be back later). We can miss one, the same can happen to Wolf where did the StarFox series does need a villain, if DK dosen´t have a villain and is a much more important series to Nintendo, why does StarFox is so important to have a third rep that resembles again the Kit of the two main heroes, if DK can survive without his villain from one installment and a third rep, I assume the same can be for StarFox and finally I know you love Lucario and put him in a high pedestal but if we compare Pokeomn and who should get the axe from Smash between Jigglypuff, Pokemon Trainer, Mewtwo or Lucario, the obvious answer would be Lucario.

Before Toon Link make it to the confirm characters, he was cut from many of my rosters for the same reason, but I learned from one Interview that Sakurai always did consider to make two links one child and one grown up to represent both parts of the series in each game, thats the reason of the inclusion of Toon Link. Second Falco has seniority it has been in two game and probably he will be up again in the new Smash, I wish Sakurai would Luigified more Falco so it can get further and further from Fox until he has his own moveset the same goes for Ganondorf (I never like that he has the same moveset as Captain Falcon and I hope he gets his own moveset now, at least there are more games in the series, where Sakurai can get material for a complete new overhaul in Ganondorf).

By the way you can´t compare a series like Mario and Zelda as to what is StarFox or Eartbound/Mother, even if they get similar movesets from one and another. The StarFox Series is really in a tight spot I did not believe what did Sakurai did with the StarFox series in Brawl, so far the three reps have a very similar kit thats why at least I think Wolf will get the axe.

Takamaru, is because of popularity and fan requests from both (the East and the West) and also Sakurai say he wants to bring a retro character back like the Ice Climbers and Pit. Who will be? My guess is good as yours, so please tell me, who do you think from the retro characters can comeback and have a really cool moveset potential? For one I say Harry, Hakkun, Donbe and Hikari, and the Marvelous Boys (Dion, Max and Jack) would be more interesting than Takamaru, but again the fan demand is bigger with him and the character seems getting new life from the many games that he has make a cameo for example Nintendo Land, Captain Rainbow and others.

The reality is that you think you have every reason to discard what I say when in reality you haven´t given me anything to change my mind as to why Wolf, Lucas or Lucario should take over Snake, especially Wolf and Lucas (and being a villain is not a reason).

I don´t know why you bring the comment of you defending G&W, Ice Climbers and Ness two years ago, but if we did meet in that time I would probably support that idea by that time, the reason is because Ice Climbers represents a sole series on their own, the same with G&W (and both have unique movesets). Ness has seniority thats the reason as why he is over Lucas and will be forever. If Lucas did come first he will be the one standing and the axed would be Ness but because thats not the case, I can´t do anything at all about that.

Body type mainly.

Mostly body type, but Palutena's light projectiles are similar in appearance to the ones Medusa has too. The only tough thing for Medusa would be Centurion spawning, which she obviously can't do and hasn't been shown summoning any enemies midfight either. Plus they both have staffs to use as well. Medusa's magical moves don't have the same effects as Palutena, but they can all be translated into Smash and serve near similar purposes.

So kinda both, but leaning more towards body type. Not an exact replica of Ganondorf being a Falcon clone due to having the same body shape. Probably more like Mario and Dr. Mario or Fox and Wolf.

Since I seem to be doomed to be left out the Fire Emblem discussion(this topic only gets busy when I'm sleeping) I'll just throw my two cents in:

I feel like both Roy and Chrom are important characters in the Fire Emblem universe: Both character's games revived the series.
Sure; they're not the mascot lords of Marth and Ike, but Ike's game was received extremely poorly in Japan, and Marth's remake obviously didn't do much to keep the series alive if Awakening needed to be made to revive the series. Roy and Chrom have both done wonders to keep the series alive, and bring in new fans; particularly in the west, and both are equally deserving of being in Smash.

Roy's appearance in Melee appealed more to the majority of the western teen market I'd imagine than Marth did initially because fire swords are cool and he just looked cooler. Shallow reasons maybe, but the series was dying in Japan before Roy came along, and the majority of us had never even heard of Fire Emblem. Roy has earned his place for his part in introducing the west and renewing interest in Japan.

Fire Emblem Awakening breathed fresh life into the series, with it's easier difficulty level allowing newcomers to get into the game, and is the best selling Fire Emblem game to date. Doesn't count for everything, but Chrom is likely to be quite a few people's first Lord. As such, he will be special to those individuals, and even without the rose tinted specs he has enough to warrant his inclusion.

Marth and Ike also deserve their places for being the most popular Japanese lord and western lord respectively, it's just a shame Fire Emblem is unlikely to get four slots.

TL;DR version: Roy haters are idiots, but so are Chrom haters.

Personally though, I'd still prefer Roy out the two, and Robin(either gender) before Chrom (But Chrom before Lucina). "Muh recency" can't be the only reason people like Chrom however. Surely some people actually like him for the kind and trusting individual he is.

And that's the last time I'll talk about this. I'll just continue supporting Roy whilst trying to not be too venomous towards Chrom fans. (I leave my venom almost exclusively for Shadow the Hedgehog.)

I'm going to be an honest aem and say that I'd be slightly disappointed. I mean if we were to get a third Kid Icarus rep, my choice would probably be Hades or Dark Pit.

Also think of taunts for Ridley.

Ridley should have taunts that reflect how sadistic and cunning he is.

Despite Ridley being extremely cunning, evil and blah blah blah I'd like a somewhat silly taunt, just like Bowser has his down taunt. Maybe one where he exhales black smoke and makes some kind of scawy roar at the same time, but ends up coughing, having to shake his head afterwards to get it together again. It is Smash Bros afterall, characters should be allowed to be silly sometimes.

Been away from the boards for a bit too long...

So here's a project my roommates and I have been working on since last year, we haven't made any additions for a loooooooon time and we've been wanting to finish it before the game is released.

And while it's only half done at the moment I thought it'd be nice to share. The characters we still would like to add are:
Remainder of the Brawl Roster (We'll probably make one for Snake but I'm not sure if we'll put him on the wall), updated Link and Zelda, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and other characters we would personally like to see (King K. Rool, Little Mac, Shulk, Isaac, Mewtwo, and possibly others).

We're also going to drop the masks for Toon Link, fix some spacing issues, and either make or scour the web for sprites for characters like Shulk and Wii Fit Trainer. For the most part our sprite search is complete and the pictures are all saved but if anyone has suggestions for sprites/characters to add on the wall feel free to let us know, we'd really appreciate it!

Masked Man I never saw the appeal of, not even after I finished Mother 3. He's just a mindless slave and felt like a pretty "eh" plot-device for others to bounce off of, nothing else.

Porky however is one of the best written villains in any video game ever imo. There's so much to the character, you really need to play the games to understand the appeal of this guy. Let's just say that if Gary/Blue is the asshole kid who's always one step ahead of you, Porky is that but 10 times worse. The little kid is so ****ing nasty, he even screws over Giygas in the end. I love nasty villains, so that means that I really love Porky as a villain too.

Okay people. Think objectively here. Be absolutely critical of each and every character. Don't say it's missing anyone unless it'd be absolutely essential that they're an addition to Smash Bros... Can we agree on this selection?

The only one I know a lot of people are clamouring for that isn't there is Paper Mario, although it's arguable if another Mario character is 'essential' at all, and that's coming from one of Toad's biggest supporters. They seem to be a staple addition each game however if you count Wario as a part of the extended Mario-verse.

Aside from that the most likely individual not on this list is probably Mii.

However with that said, I'd just suggest you leave it as it is GRC.

It's going to be entirely too hard to get the "perfect essentials", since no-one here can agree who are and who aren't essentials. Even though you've included both Roy and Chrom, there's going to be Robin, Lucina, Anna and Lyn fans who will argue their characters are just as essential as either of those two.
