Because Blue is Blue, and he constantly makes the dumbest posts and/or dumbest reasons. I mean, have you seen his rosters from two months ago? My god, they were terrible

Ness would be more important than Lucas, but they're both important enough to make the Smash games.

I thought Marth was a girl's name in Melee XD
Yes. I used to think that Blue was a troll. However, I have come to realize that he has some of the more unconventional opinions. I wouldn't call them stupid. I would call them peculiar.

Back to Marth. EXACTLY. I wasn't the only one either. All of my friends thought he was a she. A VERY ugly she. We figured that transgender people were common in Japan (Birdo).

Dumbest Posts? Nah, I've seen far worse, FAR FAR worse. Anyways, yes, I thought Marth was a female as well to be honest, not so much from the way it sounds like Martha (He's a beefy Martha Stewart. :p) but more the fact that he wears a tiara, that threw me off alot more than his name. As for Roy...as a eight year old at the release of Melee, and being the avid Pokemon fan (That I still am) and being a huge fan of pokemon movies...I could care less about Roy if I could play as Mewtwo. :p

I would much rather them have translated him "Marusu", such a sexy name.

Edit: Question! For Smash 4, are we all agreeing everyone who made into brawl from Melee is basically 99% guaranteed?
I like to think so. I'm thinking the only real dangers are the returning 3rd parties. I think Sonic will be good, but Snake is a different story. I have odd feelings about R.O.B though.

Well right but once you start making appearances in the series more than once, you become a staple. I believe all he was saying is that he hopes Lucas makes it so he can start on the road of becoming a staple.
I don't know. I consider the Original 12 to be staples. Melee vets are more like paper clips. Brawl vets are nothing really. I mean I really enjoy playing as Lucario and Ike. I wouldn't call them staples if they made it into Smash 4. They might be... paper weights?

Well, technically speaking, if Lucas was in Smash 4 that would be a 2 time vet and thus could be a staple. Toon Link, as of officially right now, has been in Smash as many times as Zelda. Of course thats going to change though. Haha

YOSHI ISN'T CONFIRMED YET AND THEREFORE ISN'T MAKING IT BAAAAAACKKKKKK
but seriously, Falco's probably coming back but is a bit questionable and the same goes for Ice Climbers so more like 97% guaranteed =P

Also on the marth topic if I recall correctly I was confused about his gender and my cousin thought he was a girl... I don't even remember any more!

Given how we got Toon Link back, I'm expecting every character from Brawl to return. My only real concerns are Snake and maybe Jigglypuff, though I'm not as worried about the latter.

I have the same feelings about R.O.B. that I did with Mr. Game & Watch and brawl. He made it back, which I was ecstatic about. l feel similarly to R.O.B. and smash 4.

Easily. These twenty characters are the faces of Smash Bros at this point, they're all but guaranteed, and none of them have any reason to leave. But I do have some questions...what design will Marth use? What will Ganondorf be like? What changes will they make to Falco to differ him from Fox? Will Yoshi have more control over throwing his eggs? There's alot of questions, and I'm interested to see what will happen in the not-so-distant future.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So every character from Brawl is expected... but the Smash 64 veteran is a possibility to be cut? I might hurt myself if that actually happened. :jigglypuffmelee:

Still up Peach's dress.
Yoshi might not come back... he might be... replaced... by Yarn Yoshi!
Literally the one thing that is going to stop me buying Smash is this.

That and Shadow the Hedgehog being confirmed as playable.

On topic; Falco is about the only one who potentially would be cut for the sake of space from the Melee newcomers. Ice Climbers if they can't get them to work. Sheik MAYBE.

Although I hope they cut Falcondorf finally and replace him with the real Triforce of Power owner.

I'm not really worried about R.O.B. IIRC he saved Nintendo's butt during the Video Game Crash of 1983, and Sakurai has yet to kill a represented franchise in Smash by removing a playable character.

And I'm not concerned about Mr. Game & Watch for this Smash at all. He's undoubtably a unique character, as are the stages from his franchise.

I do not think Sonic or Snake will return for Smash 4. Here is why... lets us evaluate how Sakurai treats 3rd party characters.
Let me stop you right there

We have absolutely no idea how Sakurai treats third party characters. We've had them for one game so far. For all we know, Sakurai treats them the same as any other given character.
I do not think Sonic or Snake will return for Smash 4. Here is why... lets us evaluate how Sakurai treats 3rd party characters. There were no 3rd party characters in his original entries, Smash 64, and Super Smash Brothers Melee. The first game to include 3rd party characters was Brawl. One at the behest of a friend, another due to sheer fan popularity. This time around we already have Mega Man. He correlates to Sonic. He was added due to staggering fan request. We do not know any other 3rd party characters that are going to make it. Most people assert that Sonic and Snake will make a come-back. Others think that Pac-Man has the connections to secure his imminent roster slot. This leaves us with 4 characters.

That isn't so bad. It seems reasonable currently. However, we must look beyond. Smash X is what I will refer to the Smash after Smash 4 and 5. This gets into some subjective territory as Sakurai might not be the creative director on the next project. So a vision change might occur. However, for the sake of discuss, let us assume that Sakurai is on board for Smash X. This is where problems start to occur. Sakurai likes to treat 3rd parties as a special case. Sonic and Snake were both special. Now Mega Man is considerably special. How special would Smash X be if he continued the pattern and followed precedent (for arguments sake assume we get Pac- Man and Mega Man for Smash 4)? This enables the Smash universe to have 6 third party characters.

Obviously 6 3rd party characters is borderline ridiculous when we considering that Sakurai already believes that the roster is feasible currently. At this point, the 3rd party characters will literally be taking up Nintendo roster slots. This isn't at all what Sakurai would want. In fact, I think Pac-Man falls under the "Snake" rule. We might get him in Smash 4 only because of Namco's association and involvement. So Pac-Man in Snake are more like favors or obligations that Sakurai has. Mega Man and Sonic are the 3rd party characters that the fans WANTED, WANT, and WILL WANT. So it is very possible that he might just cut off obligations and keep the 3rd party characters at two per entry (meaning 2 in Smash 4 probably Sonic and Mega Man) and keep the two during Smash X.
Your entire argument against third parties is based on a pattern that hasn't even f***ing happened yet. How do you know that Sakurai wants to have 2 new third party characters for each Smash game?

I hope that Snake doesn't return,I prefer Bomberman.
If not Snake, then I wouldn't expect any other Konami character. Konami really should be further behind than most companies in having a character in Nintendo's All-Stars game, I've always associated them more with Playstation. If Snake is cut, then I wouldn't expect any other Konami rep to join the fray, it's Snake or no one from Konami's side.

It was a hypothetical discussion. Not an argument. There is no pattern... that was kind of the point of the post.

On the road to being staples is what I said. Of course they'll never compare to the Original Smashers, but once the series has been going for awhile, the returning Brawlers will get staple-ish eventually. I like to think that once 4/5 is out, the Melee vets are pretty much cheap knock-off staples while the Originals are the name-brand staples.

A hypothetical discussion that you used to justify why you think that Sakurai won't keep Sonic and Snake.
No. That was just my opinion at the time. I threw it in the post. I was actually curious what other people thought of 3rd party reps and which way Sakurai was going to go. I actually mentioned 2 or 3 different possibilities in my post. You just picked one of the three and called it an argument.

Haha. That is true. As time passes the original 12 become more and more important. So name-brand staples should suffice.

The arguments that have occured in the past are all that's keeping me in a state of concern for her, but at this point not nearly as much concern.

Also, since Falco was mentioned, I'm only a bit worried about him. He's Fox's partner, but from what I've heard Wolf is more important to the series and is unique, unlike Falco who is a partially a Fox clone.

But again, Toon Link's reveal blew away most of my concern for Falco and the Jiggs.

That is true. I personally think Falco is more safe than Wolf. That really pains me to say it. Wolf is one of my mains. I wouldn't say that Wolf is more important. I think it has more to do with his prevalent roles as Fox's adversary. The notion that Wolf is more important than Falco might allude to the premise that Falco is only one of the members of Fox's team. In the games, Peppy, Slippy, and eventually Krystal are just as important because they are all big parts of the team. Krystal less so, because she wasn't around in the beginning.

This.

If Ganondorf is going to be revamped and is to keep at least one move, it should be Flame Choke. It actually suits his character, is hardly anything like Raptor Boost, and is one of his more useful moves.

OOT Ganondorf is best Ganondorf.
He has a weird laugh in Twilight Princess.

I hope that Snake doesn't return,I prefer Bomberman.
Wow...many people on here agree....I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!
I dun want Snake to leave. ;_; His inclusion is Brawl is what got me interested in Metal Gear. Calling to the Night was an awesome track.

I wish Konami could get three characters in Smash, then we could have Solid Snake, Simon Belmont, and Bomberman.

I wish. OoT made me a HUGE Ganondorf fan. I was so excited at Ganon being in Melee. It just hasn't been the same since OoT. He just isn't as appealing to me. Not to mention Brawl nerfing him to bottom didn't incite any interest in the character. It would be nice to give him a move-set that is representative to him, rather than Captain Falcon. Black Shadow would be a great replacement from Ganondorf. They could make a new move-set for Ganon and kick the old one to Black Shadow. A Jigglypuff can dream.

I came up with a good change for Ganondorf earlier.
He keeps his Captain Falcon moveset until you press Down B, causing him to take out his sword and finally use it.
This keeps the fans of Cloney-dorf happy and makes the haters happy too.
