When he says Namco characters dont get special treatment, I think he meant "Namco isnt guaranteed a character because theyre helping make the game" not "there wont be Namco characters in the game."

Pacman is a good choice for a 3rd party, I think Sakurai was trying to say its not a guarantee for his inclusion, but a possibility. Pacman would get in because he is iconic, NOT strictly because he is Namco.

What is the difference between 1 week and 2 weeks? It might seem like a difference in the present. 3 months from now, we won't be able to discern the difference. Like the difference between a Jigglypuff and a shiny Jigglypuff.

Wii Fit Trainer's reveal came just hours after the initial reveal.

Hmm... the next Nintendo Direct is tomorrow at the usual time (15h/3PM here)... I won't be able to see it live, given that I'll be in class.

1st day of October with a Direct, huh? Possibly they may reveal something about Smash Bros. Even if they don't, there are always news about Pokémon X/Y I can be satisfied with...

I'm not sure they'll give us much about Pokemon in the direct, the last general one didn't even touch on the game.

Now having said that, to humor the idea that Smash news is in the direct (though I doubt it), I wouldn't be surprised if one of the characters from the upcoming games (Sonic Lost World, Pokemon XY, DKC: Tropical Freeze) are revealed like with Luigi.

Smash Bros. is one of their biggest games. I remember some "hate" articles around E3. People were waiting for important Nintendo news, and we got Wii Fit Trainer instead. So it is quite possible that they are going to mention Smash Bros. in a lot of the Directs. I am a little hesitant though. We got a lot of news this month. I think they might actually just focus on Pokemon X and Y.

Sonic and Snake? Check.

The setup is kind of odd, seems like some series like Donkey Kong are flipped backwards, and I'm not sure why Luigi is seperated from the rest of the Mario cast. Consistency is the key when organizing your roster, if you make one series go from right to left in importance, like you did with Zelda, all series have to abide by that rule, else it'll come off as a big chaos.

I'm also not too happy with Pac-Man and Mii, but hey, it's the rumor, and I have them on my own roster too, so yeah.

I personally don't mind the cuts very much. I wouldn't cut Lucario before Ike personally, I just find Lucario more likely even if Ike is one of my mains. Still, I don't like playing either Wolf or Lucario, and Lucas is okay but Ness is da bess.

Btw, extra points for Shulk and Roy.

Great roster, would be extremely satisfied with this. Maybe a bit too much on the dreamy side, but hey, that's what we're doing around here.

That is who everyone is expecting though. So that is why I am going with Jigglypuff. Who expects her? Mewtwo would be a great unlockable character or a character that generates hype next year. He is just TOO perfect to reveal around October 12th. Like a Jigglypuff brushing her hair in the sunshine.

I think it all depends on how much the characters have changed. I would say that he does though. There are a lot of Brawl players that never played Melee. So it would be like a newcomer. If they have new move-sets that should also be noted. Not to mention, Sakurai might want to show-case their Final Smashes. So I think it warrants a trailer. Obviously Sakurai might disagree. Like a Jigglypuff forced to eat chocolate ice cream after requesting fudge swirl ice cream.

It's becoming incredibly hard to consider who's getting cut now. I'm personally expecting something like Wolf, Ike and Lucas, maybe Snake instead of one of them. I think 3 cuts seems like a nice bet, considering they have their hands less full with newcomers this time, and it seems like they aren't changing veterans up too much compared to the Melee -> Brawl transition. I hope Toon Link's reveal speaks of how far they are in character development, though I'm sure the reality of it all is that they just put him in high priority to time him with WWHD's release.

That seems... arbitrary. However, when you put it like that. I actually agree. I can envision a Mewtwo trailer, I can't really visualize a Roy trailer happening. Not to say that either would happen, I just feel the same way. Like a Jigglypuff silently nodding during a romantic comedy.

I'm personally not expecting a trailer for Mewtwo. He is afterall just a veteran. I think a lot of people just hook unto the idea because we all know it'd look ****ing amazing, but I doubt they'd put too much emphasis on a returning veteran, even if he was missing from one game.

Good afternoon all, hope you're all doing well. Glad to see last night didn't go out of hand after I left, you all deserve a round of applause.

So our current topic is the next veteran announced? I want it to be Mewtwo more than anything, it seems so perfect, but then again it also makes sense to announce Jigglypuff thanks to its new type, and even with that, it makes sense to announce Pokemon Trainer thanks to his anime premiers in a couple of days and his pokemon are available from the get-go in X and Y. .....Can't we just have them all?
