The only way that'd happen was if Sakurai was resolute that veteran 3rd parties don't return, but I don't see that happening. Sonic is much too big a deal, and Nintendo and Sega are still best friends.

I dislike both of them, so I wouldn't bother much. Though I dislike Pac-Man more, so I'd rather not that be the case.

I'd be pretty enraged. While I don't really like the newer Sonic games (except Generations which was pretty good) and I've only recently gotten into the Sonic games at least Sonic is fun because of his douche attitude and voice, Pac-Man is just boring in comparison. I know I said earlier that I wouldn't necessarily mind his inclusion, but if he kicks off another character I certainly will.

In either scenario talked about with Megaman being the only 3rd Party or there being a 2nd 3rd party but no Sonic. I would still get SSB4

But that'd be terrible if Sonic was not in the game. How could Sakurai and/or Nintendo pass on returning what was practically the most requested 3rd Party in Franchise history and arguably one of the most requested characters in the entire franchise's history? And Mario & Sonic Olympic Games get sequels but not another appearance in a highly anticipated SSB game? Nintendo would be missing out a chance to continue milking Mario Vs. Sonic. Not to mention this could be the one chance barring SSB5 and beyond where Sonic and Megaman are in the same game.

Mii and Pac Man are easily the most boring newcomers with a chance I can think of. And Little Mac, whilst being better than any other newcomer so far, isn't exactly the most exciting newcomer either...

Either Simon Belmont or Bomberman yeah.

Though I'd like Snake to return actually. I think 3-4 Third parties is good for this Smash. Megaman confirmed, Sonic likely, Snake's a 50/50. But Snake's still has a better chance then most 3rd parties simply because he was in a previous Smash game. Megaman being the only NEWCOMER 3rd Party would be fine with me.

Have you played any Bomberman games? Not too hard to see the appeal there is in him, even if some stupid fans of his from the pre-Brawl days lowered the quality of him some for you.

Like everyone else said there's only two real options for Konami outside Snake:

Bomberman(who crossed over with Wario in the past) or Simon Belmont(Captain N team gathering completion).

I'd prefer either to Snake if I'm honest, but both are unlikely. If Snake's out, chances are Konami aren't getting a rep.

As for character appeal, it's all down to who you grew up with. I get the appeal of Bomberman because I grew up with him, but I don't see him as feasible. I don't get the appeal of Snake for the same reason.

You do realize how similar the situation is to you and Impa, right?

Yes. But Marth in general is more worthy of inclusion. And there are more ways to swing a sword than there are ways to throw bombs,

Unless it's Team Fortress 2 and then I can have both with Demoman.
