To the both parts, I don't see why multiple "families" need to be represented at all. They're different characters, anyway. On either roster, I'd personally put Chrom instead, due to at least offering more past the aesthetic level.

Because Fire Emblem characters are usually chosen for being the most recurring. Roy & Eliwood are from the same family so I figure that family is an important part of Fire Emblem and Roy is perfect to represent it.

According to my theory, we might see characters like Chibi-Robo, Shulk, Dillon, Professor Kawashima, Mii, and a Rhythm Heaven character for newcomer franchises and Toad, Waddle Dee, and Chrom (or Lucina) for veteran franchises.

How is it silly to believe they were not confirmed when they were never confirmed?

Because no one guesses Wii Fit Trainer (a character no one ever has ever brought up ever), Villager (someone who was deconfirmed), and Megaman (Third parties are a big if always) out of sheer luck.

Why?

Because of any character in Smash Bros, I feel that Roy is the only one who didn't earn his place properly. This is basically the case of Wonder Red in Smash Bros, a character who was brand new and, at the time, yet to appear in a real game (Now passed as Wonderful 101 came out this month). It was a promotion of a Fire Emblem title that had not yet released, and since that time has passed, he's no longer necessary. And no, I don't think the possible rumors of his game being remade in probably 2-3 years time is enough to warrant him a spot again.

True, but even then, it's not like Roy had a large role in Eliwood's game in the first place. If I remember correctly, that game was used more to set the backstory for Roy's game (correct me if I'm wrong).

I definitely agree with this. IS is well aware of how successful Awakening has been and knows that it's the big thing they need to represent in Smash Bros (As we can see that it already has a stage), so what better way than including the main protagonist of the title as well? Sure, Chrom may have not been as badass as Ike was, but he wasn't bad by any means and really had some very nice moments. Chrom right now is representing the game's success and the name it's made in the series as the most successful in the franchise, I don't think recency has anything to do with it.

They can even give him a tag-team final Smash with Lucina that I dubbed "The Twin Falchions" as it uses both an important main character, and a new mechanic to Awakening.

Sort of off-topic, but would you like to be added to the list of Chrom supporters?

The one way I could see IS recommending Roy is if they actually do plan on remaking FE6.

I heard that they do intend to do it eventually, but most likely not soon enough to give Roy and special treatment. Also, can I be added to that list?

I doubt that would happen. The whole point of Priam was to show Ike's profound legacy in the series. Replacing him in Smash with Priam would be one step forward, two steps back.

As much as I'd be interested with the idea, unless Awakening had a direct sequel announced a while ago, I don't think that would ever happen. Ike is simply more well known and a veteran. There's no sense in replacing him with his descendant, otherwise we may as well just replace Marth with Chrom for being his descendant too.

Doesn't really help that Priam he is literally the unit with the least amount of character development in the entire game, not appearing in the main storyline whatsoever and only bonding with the avatar. He'd be considered obscure in a game with a cast as colorful as Awakening's, in other words.

Can we please take this discussion seriously and give reasonable and explained answers to the question?

Roy, I believe, is still the 2nd most wanted newcomer in Japan just under Mewtwo and is the 4th everywhere else.
He can have a fun and unique moveset
2nd most finished character for Brawl, only not making it mostly because of Sonic and time constraints
I think he's had some fairly large roles for DLC in Awakening, but don't quote me on that.
He can also represent the Fire Emblem characters in the East.
His game sold really well in Japan and had some really high ratings too.
He was also added because Sakurai wanted him in too
And, a higher up at IS says that if they make another FE remake, it's going to be Roy's game so then they can introduce Roy properly.

These videos would include my thoughts on several hot topics in regards to the character choices and other subjects we've discussed on the site.

How about a video to simply educate the Youtube masses why many arguments out there, including "Ridley is too big, K.Rool is owned by Rare, Mewtwo was already cut so no returning." do not work. I was thinking of doing that myself sometime soon.

There are already good videos about that, and I would probably cover that as it is. I'm either going to do videos about all newcomers, or on a character by character basis.

How about you educate people why Ike and Lucario REALLY got into Brawl. They did NOT get in because of recency like so many ignorant people claim and it's getting more annoying than saying "Ridley is too big"
