Blue Toad: The thing I'm going to get the biggest amount of hate for, probably. I simply don't think Toad's chances are completely shot, and this roster is a combination of semi-realistic and wishful thinking.
Bowser Jr.: I know, I know, I put two Mario newcomers into my roster. Sue me. I cut Pokemon Trainer because he's one of the big reasons I couldn't diversify the roster; he took up three characters' time. The people who I added at the expense of Pokemon Trainer were Toad, Bowser Jr., and Dixie, who would have not gotten in with K. Rool otherwise.
Four DK characters: As I explained, the cut of Pokemon Trainer allowed for Dixie, and K. Rool is one of the big newcomers that everyone wants, so he got in easily.
Classic Link aka: please don't kill me: Sakurai has stated that he thinks that two Links are an integral part of Smash...so, since I see Toon Link as unlikely, Classic Link got in...although I wish he had another name.
Falco over Wolf: I switched them over and over again, but I ultimately decided that Sakurai chose Falco instead of Wolf in Melee for a reason.
Poor, poor Pokemon: I kept the vets, added mewtwo, and kept Lucario because of promotional stuffs...but Pokemon Trainer didn't survive. Sorry.
Chrom over Ike: It was one or the other in my eyes, and Chrom has more sales and practically (if not literally) saved Fire Emblem...that was enough for me.
Mii: I think it's just about guaranteed that we're getting Miis, even if I don't like them.
Little Mac: Need I explain?
Ice Climbers: If they don't come back together, they'll just be the 'Ice Climber', so I think they're going to stay.
Takamaru over more 'interesting' retro characters: I spent more than a month looking at and deciding between all of the retros, and I ultimately came to Takamaru. He is the only character that I see as viable for a series revival, and any others that get in I doubt would be revived (ala Ice Climbers).
Wild Gunman: Sheriff is not Nintendo's first character! Repeat! Sheriff is not Nintendo's first character! Wild Gunman was in an arcade game that was released before Sheriff, making him the perfect retro-surprise character.
Pac-Man: Gaming Icon, plenty of relevancy in the world of Nintendo, I think he's the only likely Third Party besides Sonic that has yet to be revealed.
No Snake: Nothing to do with Nintendo recently. That alone got him off the roster for me. He's now a rival character/series representative in my eyes.

You know, I actually really like this roster.
Nice job Pacack.
Only I would keep Pokemon Trainer, but otherwise I really like this.

Well, some say they will support Ridley for the next 20 years. I doubt kids born today will care about Ridley 20 years from now unless the 50yo Ridley fans convince them into supporting Ridley.

We're talking about the relationship between Toad and Ridley.
The main connection is that neither will make it in.

That's what I've been saying as well. We've been waiting for news on that stage for over A MONTH, and yet there's nothing yet. To drag on this so-called "Stage Hazard" is just stupid, we'd have had it by now. It was less than a month after E3 that we got the picture of Yellow Devil confirming a stage hazard, and I can say the situation would have been the same for Ridley.

That's Master Hand...he was on Final Destination before Final Destination was an actual playable stage. And it makes perfect sense as a stage hazard, forms on one side, dematerializes and moves to the other side of the screen piece by piece, then doing so again to the opposite side. Not to mention there's alot better possible MegaMan bosses, Dr. Wily to name the most likely candidate.

This is the most recent picture of the Pyrosphere we've gotten. This, in specific, is the hole we all believe to be where Ridley comes from. I merely have two questions for if this really does mean Ridley is a stage hazard:

1.) Of all things, what sense does it make to get everyone riled up and talking about Ridley by refusing to show a single screenshot with him in it? Sakurai knows he's drawing attention to Ridley by doing this. What point is there to doing this if he's just going to be a part of the stage? If he wanted to build all this tension regarding Ridley before unveiling him to be playable, that would make perfect sense on part of how Ridley would gather attention and make SSB4 that much more of a hot topic in the gaming communities and media alike. We would have otherwise seen Ridley long ago if he was just a stage hazard, like Yellow Devil is in Wily's Castle and the Nintendog is in its stage.

2.) If this is supposedly a hole Ridley makes, why does it look so well structured, as in, intentionally man-made? The whole idea surrounding Ridley being a stage hazard is that he comes bursting out of the hole in the wall to attack the fighters. From a design standpoint, there's no reason why a structured hallway would lead to a dead-end like this that could only be taken advantage of via inhuman methods. If Ridley really did make this hole that he escapes into and comes out of, it would be more crude and broken apart, not a passageway that looks like it will lead to the friggin' Bottle Ship's cafeteria.

-Characters are cut due to development time and shet.

-Ken Sugimori likes Poliwhirl, so he's a shoo-in.

-Welt is better than Shulk.

Fire Emblem and MOTHER are gay and boring, so I removed them entirely.
