I kid, I kid. I agree that Zelda probably doesn't need a new rep, but if it does get one, I reckon Tingle's up there. It'd be such a troll move that I can't imagine Tingle not being the Zelda newcomer, given that Sakurai is still head director.

Don't get me wrong. Ridley would be an awesome addition to the playable roster.. but he's just so damn big. His size alone makes me think it just won't happen, but Metroid certainly deserves a second rep, thus why I choose Sylux. As for Toon Zelda/Tetra, I think the Legend of Zelda franchise will receive another rep and it seems that the toon version of the game is becoming more prominent to the overall series. I would rather do away with the toon versions of Legend of Zelda characters altogether and have Skull Kid in the mix. I also really wanted to add King K. Rool to my roster, but I doubt Donkey Kong Country will be receiving four representatives.

I don't doubt ridley because of his size (very much at all), more so that he was a boss in SSE and Sakurai has never planned to have him playable. That's not to say characters who haven't been playable in the past is an issue. It's not.

Tingle dude, shoot. 3 of his own games and a DSi Ware thingamabob.

The point is that these aren't issues. And while you compare them to other characters having better versions of these features, it's not better by much at all. I doubt Dixie & Diddy together would have been the case due to Diddy's Rocket Barrel & Peanut Popgun being important, and Dixie's Ponytail being important. Ice Climbers were a duo because they were literally the same thing just with different color. That is not the case with Dixie, not at all. The other thing is that you see King K. Rool as the one he'd pick because that's what you think he should do. I base Dixie being the one he'd pick on what he would do. I think King K. Rool has more stuff to him that would make a more exciting addition, but that doesn't mean Sakurai is gonna pick that. In terms of main characters Dixie does come before King K. Rool unfortunately, that's not to say she'll come before him in SSB4, but I'd be surprised if she didn't. Like I said they are basically the main trio of the Donkey Kong series whether we like it or not, and with Dixie having enough going for her to where it wouldn't be a HUGE deal if she got in over K. Rool, that may very likely be the case.

I'm not saying Dixie surpasses the importance and priority of K. Rool by much, but she does just a little. And the fact that she'd be a semi-clone does not make her any less important or prioritized than K. Rool. It may make her less desirable in our eyes, but not to the point where it would give Sakurai reason to pick K. Rool instead Dixie.

Yes, it would suck to a lot of us to have Dixie instead of the main villian and his more unique move set. But, we don't have much of a say in it. The fact that WE think K. Rool is the better option is going to affect what Sakurai thinks is a better option.

My point being that Dixie's similarities is almost definitely not going into Sakurai's list of reasons to have King K. Rool over Dixie. For now we just have to wait and see which one Sakurai thinks should be the contender.

The hilarious irony of that is that Raichu's name in the bootleg Green version is called "WHITE."
Other Pokemon have odd names too; Grimer is called "STICK", Pidgey is called "BOBO", Cubone is called "HAHA" and Seel is called "BABY".

Look up the commentary of bootleg Green by Buttvault. I found it pretty darn funny. Their stupid laughter is contagious.

Depends. If you want both Dixie and K. Rool but don't think DK's going to get four slots pile Diddy and Dixie together. If you're not fussed about K. Rool keep her and Diddy seperate. If it's a personal want roster instead of a prediction roster then you can pretty much do whatever you like.

And about Seven itself (WARNING SPOILER FROM XENOBLADE) :

She is the second true heroin of the game with Shulk. The last one represents the Bionis while Seven represents the Mechonis. Besides, she's a real beast in combat, which is another good argument for her inclusion.

Then I know there's very few demands for another Xeno-related character, but she still has a real potential for being a smasher, and it would be a HUGE waste from Nintendo if the Xenoblade universe is not exploited decently.

Just saying, Habanero, your avatar is awesome. Donnel is one of my favorite characters in Awakening. Limit Breaker DLC + Armsthrift + High Luck stat + Helswath (or any really strong sword or axe) was always fun to use.

Yeah, because a character can't be resized in a spin-off game. Ridley changes sizes even in Metroid Prime 3, so of course a spin-off game can have him change size too. Also, Sylux really doesn't mean anything to the Metroid franchise in general, either it's Ridley or no new Metroid character, take your pick.

IIRC, Wolf was pretty big around Melee, but all he got was a cameo in Melee, yet he made it into Brawl. I don't think Tetra has been in more games than Vaati although I know Toon Zelda was in 2 more games than him. However, my big problem with having Toon Zelda is that we don't need another Toon version of a character we already have although that's just personal opinion. With Tingle, I can see where you are going with him, but he hasn't been too important in Zelda games as much as he is in his own games, making me think that he may be his own spin-off character.

I think it's worth noting as well that one of the three games with Vaati in, The Minish Cap - that is, the only one that goes halfway towards giving him any kind of personality - wasn't even worked on by an internal Nintendo team, but by a team within Capcom. Similarly, the original Four Swords was a joint effort between Nintendo and Flagship/Capcom. Now, that doesn't make these any less 'Zelda' than all the other Zelda titles out there, but considering that two of Vaati's titles weren't even made by the main Zelda team, and the one that was ends up with Vaati being Ganondorf's little beeyatch... I think it's safe to say that Nintendo don't actually give much of a damn about Vaati.

Basically, it's not the number of games you appeared in that's the crucial factor. Vaati appeared in one side game (the original Four Swords was not it's own game and not the main event, however you look at it), one game not worked on by the main Zelda team and one game where he plays second fiddle to Ganon. He's not exactly the pinnacle of importance.

You basically replaced all characters I felt should stay, as Ike, Falco, Lucario and Kanto Pokémon Trainer. Also, coupled Diddy and Dixie togheter, kept Sheik and Toon Zelda / Tetra (prefer Tetra as a standalone). Otherwise, props for having K.Rool and Isaac I guess. But most other choices I personally disagree with. Except for Ridley, Little Mac, Palutena, Paper Mario and Takamaru.

Not only that, it'd just be a major inconvenience to the development team because they'd be removing Pokemon Trainer and then effectively having to design and program three newcomers to replace him - and I think it goes without saying that three veterans would take less development work than three newcomers.

The novelty of a new Pokemon Trainer would wear off after a month of playing the new Smash; the legacy and popularity of Red will last a hell of a lot longer.

This. I'm usually not this adamantly against common ideas, but seriously guys, drop the other trainer bull****. There's no reason to change around any of Red's Pokemon and/or swap his model for a newer trainer. It makes no sense, both from a development standpoint and otherwise.
