Let's talk about Lip from Panel de Pon. She doesn't get brought up much, but could definitely be cool.

After finally looking the game and character. Should could be interesting Not to mention the cuteness of her. I definatly wouldn't mind her getting in. Also if I am not mistaken both Melee and Brawl had 2 new retro reps (G&W and Icies for Melee and ROB and Pit for Brawl) So I might go with Mach Rider and Lip now for my 2 retro characters in my rosters now, espically since she can feel the bill of the WTF retro like ROB and G&W but then again if she is thought of it can't be that WTF of a character.

Speaking of rivals, I can't think of anyone that's rivals with me.

I want an ultimate rival.

I love how often the "I have freedom of speech" card is played when most of the time those people don't realize that there's no such thing as freedom of speech without punishment.

Off topic, but what does freedom of speech mean to you?

If someone states an opinion (say, pro homosexual marriage, since it's apparently the "hip and happening" thing to support nowadays) and gets hated, attacked, or arrested for it, is his "right" to free speech attacked?

After all, he had the freedom to state his views, but not the freedom to avoid consequences.

Off topic, but what does freedom of speech mean to you?

I believe that his freedom of speech isn't attacked on part of how freedom of speech cannot conflict with other rights, religious and racial and whatnot. When you're violating others freedoms with your freedom of speech, that's when punishment kicks in.

Treeko, I think the freedom of speech card thing, in this case DD was using, was so people can get away with saying whatever they want.

Not particularly what the Founding Fathers probably had in mind though (likely was to having the right to rebel against a totalitarian gov't). But what's done is done.

Yeah, the "Big 8" are generally thought to be the most important and popular Mario characters, and the ones who generally show up in the most games. They were obviously all pretty big before MK64, but IIRC that was the first place they were all together. And now Toad is the only one not playable in Smash. It is just a fan term though.

Oh, don't worry Hotfeet, I got it! Course, I don't know how to feel about remembering a random quote that is randomly thrown out during the final boss of a random game...but I still got it!

I only want a rival if it can be Ruby/Saphire/Emerald's definition of "rival." So I'd have a (very very very) friendly debate with them, and then right in the middle of it they would leave and I would never see them again.

Thank you. That's all the justification I need for Toad's inclusion. Apart from Sonic 2 on the Genesis, the first games I have vivid memories of are Smash 64, Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64, Pokemon Stadium and OOT. Those games are Nintendo to me, so Toad is the one piece that feels like's been missing all this time. Retro is all well and good, but childhood 90's memories are what make me love this franchise so much.

Okay, Dark Matter. Pretty nice character. Good moveset, unique, etc.

Still not sold on a fourth Kirby Rep though. Though it'd probably be him or Bandana Dee for the next spot. But I wouldn't mind him being there.

Honestly I only think MK will be nerfed. Of course I am hoping beyond hope infinites get fixed, espicaly Icies infinite chaingrab on all characters. But characters like Olimar and Snake don't really need or deserve to be nerfed. The reason they are top tier is because of how well they do again MK. And this is because MK defines the metagame of Brawl. Of course MK doesn't need a excessive amount of nerfing, in fact it is wuite easy to nerf MK without killing him as a character.

Lower the priority of Nado and most of his other moves.
Get rid of super armor that Shuttle Loop provides.
Weaken the KO power of shuttle loop greatly.
Weaken many of his most reliable KO moves greatly.
Make his Dimensional Cape move more of a KO move and most reliable KO move since the move is perfect as a high risk high reward case.
Lower his hit boxes a bit.

Boom bam done diddly done and you still have a viable character to use, just will take more skill to use now.

I'm against nerfing other characters though, since imo they don't deserve, and would rather just see characters be buffed up.

I'm in such a fuzzy mood I'll late you off this one time.

As for Nerfing and buffing, I'm hoping Ganondorf is buffed for sure. I also played Brawl today for the first time in a few weeks and forgot what a pain Link, my usual casual main, is at times. I'd like his B up to get a bit of boost but not to the heights of Melee, both in terms of recovery ability and maybe a bit in power. I understand Link should be heavy with all that equipment but I'd like him a tad lighter. Selfishness reasons out the way.

Meta Knight is an obvious nerf but other than that I'm not too sure. I'm far better than all my friends at Smash but not good enough to play competitively so I'm not overly familiar with the competitive scene. With the new Smash games I'm hoping to improve to where I can play competitively.

Oh, I'm also in agreement that MK should be the only on nerfed. But I'm pretty sure people will get nerfed regardless, possibly because of the probably new physics in the game. Look at Falcon. He was top in Melee, and he sank bad in Brawl. Someone else may just as well be screwed by the physics.

I never really liked that term, and this is coming from someone who greatly supports Toad. I don't think being part of some arbitrary group of characters really boosts his chances. There are other reasons he should be included that are much more important.

Oh, and Dark Matter. Yeah, he's pretty cool. I like. That aside, don't know how to feel about Dark Matter being in Smash.
