I actually can't really recall what's dark about Wind Waker other than the kingdom being buried underneath the sea. That's a bit dark in a removed, mythic sort of way.

But yeah, OoT and definitely MM are pretty dang dark.

Snake, Sonic, and Mega Man come to mind. The others are more spread out after those three. But considering that Pac-Man is the Namco character with the overall most support, Lloyd becomes insignificant in comparison to any other Non-Namco character.

You'd think that they would focus on the higher priority Nintendo characters. This is a Nintendo game after all, featuring Nintendo characters fighting amongst themselves.

Not sure why you see Lucas getting cut (because Ness looks like he's going to stay for sure with Earthbound on the VC after forever), nothing would prevent either of them from returning other than the possibility of time constraints. But we shouldn't be expecting those until they actually happen. Don't forget the possibility of Mother 3 becoming a Wii U VC title too (Many things seem to point towards it).

It's the implications of it, more than anything. Hyrule is swept under the sea, but those who live above on the islands aren't a prosperous society of island-goers - they're described as kind of 'hanging on' so to speak, and it's also implied elsewhere in the game that only certain 'chosen ones' were instructed to go to the mountaintops, meaning the rest of the people passed away with their kingdom. I could list some other things if I had played the game more recently, but yeah... it's mostly implied darkness rather than the in-your-face melancholy atmosphere of, say, Majora's Mask.

i would love her myself. she seems like she could have great potential, and as far as retro characters are concerned she's def at the top of my most wanted list. i dont know how much of a shot she actually has though

Huh. Until looking her up this time, I didn't realize that Panel de Pon was an Intelligent Systems game.

So... I guess what I'm saying is...

Well, spoilers, since you clearly aren't going to play the game anyway, DD...

Lucas' mother dies during the first chapter of the game because she gets stabbed in the heart by a giant dinosaur thing's claw, his dad finds out, goes on a depressive rampage in a fit of rage, incapacitating a few passersby, and is thrown in jail, as his son watches, traumatized. Lucas' brother goes missing, and is found in a canyon later, thought to be dead. More depression ensues. Then there's a tyrannical dictator, Porky, who builds his own "utopian" society not that far off from being compared to the Nazi rule of Germany during WWII. And his greatest general that Lucas must face? His own brother, who was cybernetically brought back to life to be a killing machine. Lucas has to kill his own brother, or else he will be killed by him. And you know what? He chooses not to. Then Claus tries to kill him by shooting a gigantic bolt of lightning at Lucas, which gets reflected back at him due to Lucas' Franklin Badge. He killed himself. And then as Lucas is holding his dying brother, he dies in his arms, for God's sake. And then the world pretty much blows up.

I guess she doesn't get talked about much because of her rather docile disposition, and apparently men hate anything that is adorable. Still, the character would be a rather interesting choice, could use a mix of plant based attacks and drop blocks, maybe utilizing a flower gimmick. Plus I want to see her hair in HD.

It's the only hair that can rival DK's and Palutena's after all.

But yeah, I never got the whole "men hate anything adorable" thing. I guess it has more to do with many guys needing to "prove" their masculinity, which is sort of sad. I mean, I have no shame in admitting that Starfy is adorable.

But yeah, as far as Lip goes, that garbage block would be deadly. Plus, a chlorokinetic would be cool to see. The closest we have is Ivysaur.

Its pretty dang dark.

A boy's sister is kidnapped. People flooded their kkingdom to stop evil, but evil prevailed. Ganonsorf killed two servants to the God and greatly wounded one, a talking fish, but regardless. The heros grandmother goes delirious and goes crazy and ill after her granddaughter is kidnapped. And the implication that Tingle is a crazy man that went to jail, escaped, and then enslaved several other people to work on hhis island.

Its pretty dark.

I liked this post for two reasons. First, I always enjoy thinking about Wind Waker.

Second, "Ganonsorf" is the best typo ever.

On the topic of lip I won't discount her chances but I flat out don't care about her I would be at no loss if she makes it in or doesn't :p

Lip seems possible, but there are many characters people'd rather see in before her. A quick question: How unrealistic are 4 3rd parties? We have Megaman confirmed, and Sonic is pretty much a Shoe-in, so Pac may not make it unless he replaces Snake, which I don't want to happen.

It's odd because she makes no appearances in the game (No, the "Lip" sticker is actually her daughter Feril.), yet the game still goes out of it's way to make varies references to Panel de Pon. To add insult to injury, it's the same game that introduced a remix of Lip's Theme.

Yeah... I guess Lip does seem to have potential, but there are things I dislike about her. Mostly, I'm not in love with her design and her name kinda bothers me for some reason.

Also, what the heck does "Panel de Pon" mean? What language is that supposed to be? Confusing. Does anyone know the story behind that?
