How would you know if you haven't played the game? This is bordering on trolling, and eventually I'm going to have to treat it as such.

I saw a video on it called Disturbing Video Game music... all I know about Earthbound is the final boss and whatever the Smash games talk about it. Not everybody is going to be a Nintendo wizard of knowledge, you know.

Enough GoldenYu... anyways, have you seriously SEEN the game? Probably not, because you're you, aren't you, but from what I seen in the Virtual Console trailer, all you do is fight dogs and rats, giant piles of puke, and play as children going around to different neighborhoods. HOW is that empowering to someone playing a video game? Mario and Zelda EMPOWER you... this does not. It's too decidedly average. But of course, because you get butt-hurt over ANYTHING I say... I'll just stop here.

Well then you obviously shouldn't make claims you can't substantiate. It's fine if you don't know everything, just don't act like you do.

The Mother series is one of the most mature franchises Nintendo has. You only have to PLAY Eathbound for an hour or so to see that.

Also, and I'm asking a series question here. Wasn't Ness only considered for the Brawl drop by some because he was a starter in Melee and he was unlockable in Brawl? I thought people were worried because he hadn't be announced going into Brawl and he had been going into Melee.

Edit: and I forgot to say, also because Lucas had been announced before release, some thought as a replacement.

I'v played both Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank, while neither exactly fall under the role of a kids game exactly they are much more light-hearted then Mother/EB and more close to being kids games then Mother/EB. lol

Well, spoilers, since you clearly aren't going to play the game anyway, DD...

Lucas' mother dies during the first chapter of the game because she gets stabbed in the heart by a giant dinosaur thing's claw, his dad finds out, goes on a depressive rampage in a fit of rage, incapacitating a few passersby, and is thrown in jail, as his son watches, traumatized. Lucas' brother goes missing, and is found in a canyon later, thought to be dead. More depression ensues. Then there's a tyrannical dictator, Porky, who builds his own "utopian" society not that far off from being compared to the Nazi rule of Germany during WWII. And his greatest general that Lucas must face? His own brother, who was cybernetically brought back to life to be a killing machine. Lucas has to kill his own brother, or else he will be killed by him. And you know what? He chooses not to. Then Claus tries to kill him by shooting a gigantic bolt of lightning at Lucas, which gets reflected back at him due to Lucas' Franklin Badge. He killed himself. And then as Lucas is holding his dying brother, he dies in his arms, for God's sake. And then the world pretty much blows up.

You know, for kids.

And my point is that you believe that a game is kiddy if it doesn't reach the same level of "maturity" as games like GTA and Call of Duty. You're either a hypocrite for bringing that up in a forum about a Nintendo game or a troll for going that far to invoke a reaction out of others using the whole "gun games master race earthbound dirty peasants" bit.

You have no knowledge of what you talk about and strike down frnachises. Its fine if you say "I don't like the franchise that much" or something. Saying its a kids game bashes and lashes out at everyone who enjoys the game.

I never got into EB myself, but I've read and enjoyed the story. Its very beautiful and touching. And certainly not childish.
