Well, for one, the slot for "Tales character (Lloyd/Cress)" only scored about 239 votes on Shortie's poll, putting Lloyd behind many third parties, including Bayonetta, Phoenix Wright, Bomberman, a second Sonic character, Pac-Man, Banjo and Kazooie (though they're technically ineligible), as well as Mega Man when he was on the poll. So that alone shows that Lloyd has really little demand, considering that poll went to about twenty different websites.

Then why did you bring up Goku as a 3rd party if you say he could also be 4th party?

My point is people request anything and everything. Trust me; I'd rather have Lloyd than Goku. Or Geno. Or Sora, but other characters have been requested a similar amount to Lloyd, and he's not quite up to Megaman, Pac Man and Sonic's level in terms of legendary status.

If he gets in however, I'm sure everyone here will be gentlemanly enough to allow you to give a big "I told you so".

Unlike Zelda and Shiek and Samus and ZSS, All of his pokemon were revealed together(I think) You knew they were a three in one from the start. Taking out Stamina AND forced switching is a terrible idea, taking out one but not the other could work though. Bones OUT.

You still can't give a legit reason as to why it is a horrible idea. I could argue that Zelda and Sheik are a 2 in one from the start, same with Samus and ZSS. Zelda transforms into Sheik who is a totally different character in terms of moves and playstyle so in all fairness it is a 2 in one deal so why don't we make it to where they work exactly like PT? Give them an effing stamina and forced switching mechanic and give people less options then. Like I said give me one legit reason why those 2 mechanics are good instead of trying to wiggle around an answer. I've already stated very clear concise good reasons why it is bad and even rebuttled your reasoning for it being good. You can't. They are both horrible mechanics and need to be taken for reasons I have already stated while you have yet to give one good one and just keep trying to get the last word in without backing anything up with the same "I'm right and don't have to state why" mentality.

When Ness was considered getting cut in place of Lucas, Sakurai practically dismantled the entire "Ness has high priority" argument into the garbage bin. He's popular, sure, but when you have a character that ALMOST got cut once before... it could happen for real this time.

Mother was considered an ongoing franchise at the time, and like many RPG franchises was likely to be getting new characters with almost every installment, making numerous candidates for reps as characters, like FE and Pokemon. The series has now ended so those cuts aren't likely since the reasoning is no longer there. Ness/Lucas probably won't be cut.

Why? Because it's evidence against your claims? As much as I hate to say it Lloyd doesn't have the greatest amount of support when compared to what Sonic and MegaMan had in Brawl and SSB4. While the general consensus for a Tales character is usually Lloyd in the West, people in Japan, according to Chrono, are quite split on which Tales character they would like to have.

Did you just scroll past the post that made this argument pointless? You must consider the condition of the series which, at the time, was an ongoing franchise. That last sentence is extremely bias, so I'm not touching it.

Not likely at all. EarthBound has gone international, and they even felt it fit to advertise it.

If they gonna cut Mother characters, it's probably gonna be Lucas. And his playstyle would be merged with Ness'. Even though I doubt they'll cut Lucas actually. At least, I hope not.

You're using a scenario that "almost" happened in Melee as a reason for why they're being cut today. Let's use the past as arguments then. Ness was promoted from hidden to playable from the start in Melee. Not Luigi. Not Jigglypuff. And Jigglypuff was the low priority of the Original 12 that almost got cut on part of her being added so late in the game in Brawl. Ness had the privilege of being added relatively early in the game, if SSE is to show for anything. But you don't see me using that as reasoning why Jigglypuff suddenly won't be in SSB4 for the same reason that "they were almost replaced in a game 12 years ago": it's a crappy one.

Earthbound was a huge commercial success in Japan when it was released. It didn't do so well in the states, but the Mother popularity lived on, especially after Ness was in SSB64 and Melee. Come the Wii U Virtual Console, Earthbound is now one of the top selling games on the eShop in both Japan and the West... So I guess sales can't be the reason it's "not important".

What else makes Earthbound so unimportant, Dr. Divine PhD?

You clearly haven't put any research into Earthbound when you know that it's rated T for Teen on the ESRB and that there are a lot of adult themes in the game.

Look, set your bias aside. It was considered that Ness be cut. But it didn't happen. So that alone tells you Sakurai will intend to keep Ness after all this time. The only characters I see getting cut were the low prioirty characters in Brawl. Sakurai considered it to be an important franchise in Nintendo. You should too.

Probably not, because you're you, aren't you, but from what I seen in the Virtual Console trailer, all you do is fight dogs and rats, giant piles of puke, and play as children going around to different neighborhoods. HOW is that empowering to someone playing a video game? Mario and Zelda EMPOWER you... this does not. It's too decidedly average. But of course, because you get butt-hurt over ANYTHING I say... I'll just stop here.

• Except when Ness was considered to be cut it was ONLY the second installment. This is the fourth installment so it wouldn't be as understandable
• Dude, if Sakurai replaced 1 EarthBound Character with 1 Earthbound character means it's just as prioritized as if just kept Ness, let alone he has 2 now.

You cannot create an equation to understand the thoughts of another human being. Simply put, Sakurai does not think this. Don't delude yourself into thinking he does, or that a method you MADE UP is the only way to go about speculation. In reality it means absolutely nothing. You're just fooling yourself into thinking it otherwise.

Also, the end boss in EarthBound is pretty much the Devil himself. So there's that. And I wouldn't call it a kid's game in any form. It's a pretty awesome stoner game though.
