Bowser being mute = about a minute worth of WTFS? and WTHS? from me.

Were many predicting Ridley for Brawl? Or did they just him in? What were you reactions when you found out his was a giant boss?

We should talk about clones in SSB4, I don't think it gets a lot of attention as a topic, but it happens in every installment.

The only 2 plausible clones I can think of are Dixie Kong & Medusa

Well you ask for opinions there is mine, still if you are going to post in the thread "Roster Prediction Discussion" maybe you should consider that your ideal roster and the roster that would be in the final game be really different. Try to remember what Sakurai said, like the limitations of the 3DS and that he will not include a lot new characters like he did with Brawl so if we consider that, probably the game will have 10 new faces (more or less with cuts and all).

If you consider a Ideal roster between 50 a 55 characters thats not ideal at all, like I say you should consider what Sakurai say in the interviews and the constrain on the team to balance a roster of 50 to 55 characters. Also can I ask why is so shocking the idea to add Mii as a playable character?

Dixie would probably share one special with Diddy, and I have faith that Sakurai wouldn't make her that much of a clone.

And how on Earth would Medusa be a clone? I haven't played any Kid Icarus games, but...how?

Well, Lucas could have had his own moves yet Sakurai made him a semi-clone. Also Dixie would share 2, the banana and face grab.

No, not my ideal roster, THE ideal roster, it is why I wish to engage others in the discussion, so we can form a more perfect roster. I said my knowledge was limited, and rightly so, if I was creating my ideal roster there would be no doubt in my mind. However, the roster I placed was an odd amalgamation of what Sakurai's ideal would be if his knowledge was more whole and perfect while still having his general philosophy, and a flavoring probably from me. In this I am generally disregarding hardware limitation, despite what Sakurai has said about them. As for my Mii comment, I was being facetious, but why would the Mii be more ideal in such an already packed roster?

Wasn't sure who you meant Medusa would be a clone of at first, still don't know how similar they would be. I doubt we'll get 3 Kid Icarus reps though.

Lucas wasn't that much of a clone, Bowser Jr. would be even less of one.

As far as Ganondorf goes, I doubt Sakurai will make him a Captain Falcon clone again, since he's balancing things out and going for new things, and also since he probably knows the fans want a new, and original Ganondorf.

Due to KI being treated the same as the original 8 from Smash, he may add Medusa to complete the main trio and make an easy clone. Even though I agree KI doesn't need many reps. It's still a possibility.

It is indeed, and though, I'm not saying Kid Icarus is less or more important than the others series, it would be a shame for a series that has been underrepped since Melee to not get any newcomers before Kid Icarus got any. (Metroid needs Ridley, and DK could either K. Rool, Dixie, or both)

It would be best in my opinion if all 3 got a newcomer, they all have at least one character with potential.

TWO Kid Icarus characters is already a stretch. Three is just overkill no matter how you twist it.

You're basing its importance on a trailer. Its obvious that Sakurai wants to put it with Nintendo's big boys, he MADE Uprising. Not having it in the trailer is like not having Kirby in it either.

EXPLANATIONS (IM REALLY BAD AT EXPLAINING

Starfy: Pretty likely, and very popular.
Toon Zelda/ Tetra: Very important/popular LoZ character.
Toad: In a LOT of the Mario games, lots of potential, and very popular. (and I like him better then Bowser Jr.)
King K. Rool: VERY popular, check out the polls, most popular DK rep, villain, who doesn't have him in their roster? Pretty self explanatory.
Ridley: See King K. Rool except he's a Metroid rep. Pretty self explanatory.
Palutena: Who else for Kid Icarus? Very Popular, female. Pretty self explanatory.
Takamaru: One of the most potential/likely retro characters, pretty self explanatory.
Little Mac: Pretty self explanatory Very popular.
Isaac: Pretty self explanatory. Very popular
Mewtwo: 6th Gen rep, VERY VERY popular, even before Newtwo, Pretty self explanatory.
Chrom: Pretty self explanatory. Very popular.
Pac-Man: Most potential 3rd Party.

When it comes to Kid Icarus, Palutena is probably the most blunt newcomer available by virtue of her strong presence within the Kid Icarus series. She's basically the equivalent of Zelda, even being referenced on the title of Kid Icarus games. The second choice for a character would be Medusa, then after that it could fall onto Dark Pit, Magnus, Viridi, Hades, etc. Generally, Palutena seems to be the next in line overall by a deceiving amount.
