Good... good... Ridley is too big. Ridley is a dragon, and dragons are not meant to be small.

Imagine this: If Godzilla was 6 ft., would you be intimidated? (Seeing that you were a character of the smash series.)
Additionally, Lucario will most likely be replaced with a Pokemon from Gen 6 or Mewtwo.

Should use characters because they are popular All-Stars, not Popular Smash Veterans. How is Jigglypuff an All-Star over Eevee?
OH SNAP EEVEE VS JIGGLYPUFF DEBATE!

At one time Jiggilypuff was the most popular pokemon in japan, she earned her spot ages ago just because people change with the times doesnt mean that she wasnt once important, she earned her spot and should be there for life, eevee is not as popular as you think he is/was.

I hope you're kidding.

I haven't seen him promoted outside of the Anime character from Team Rocket.
Tell me, if Eevee is so promoted and popular, why hasn't Eevee been playable already in place of Jigglypuff?

Also, Pichu is promoted much more than Eevee and Jigglypuff (in fact, since 2nd Gen, Pichu has FREQUENTLY been in promotion alongside its evolved cousin Pikachu), yet Pichu was given the axe and not Jigglypuff.
By all means, Pichu should come back and be decloned if we're talking promoted and popular Pokémon.

But it doesn't seem likely Pichu will return to Smash. So what makes Eevee so likely and reasonable in comparison?
With Mewtwo and Genesect, you've already got promotion value. You don't need Eevee, who's not really promoted as it is that the ENTIRE EVOLUTIONARY LINE is.
Lucario is also still in promotion as well. So why would he be cut in favor of a Pokémon who's had just as much promotion today as it had in the past and still has not been worthy of anything for Smash other than a trophy in Melee?

This "one time" never happened.

It may have been ONE of the most popular Pokémon (but hey, so was Meowth, Psyduck, Poliwhirl, etc.), but it never surpassed Pikachu.

That was the reason he put her in though, I remember thats why she got in because Japan absolutely loved jiggilypuff or rather Purin. (pikachu was already in so she was probably second over there, I remember being really surprised.)

about Lucario getting replaced by Mewtwo and Ridley being too big.
Ridley, yes. He is too big. There are a couple videos on youtube showing how he looks "shrunken" down to about Charizards' height. However, I guess if Nintendo can work their magic, it may just slip by. I myself doubt it, but eh, "when there's a will, there's a way".

As for Lucario, he is kind of old news, and there are new pokemon to showcase, such as the next batch of Pokemon. These games are coming out a while before the next Smash. Diamond and Pearl were out a year before Brawl. I am simply inferring what Nintendo may do based on their past actions.

Source is required.

Sakurai mentioned about how Jigglypuff was added in 64 to be a deliberately weak character on Pichu's page on the Japanese Melee website (where he draws a comparison between Pichu and Jigglypuff).

Yeah, Jigglypuff was at one time among the most popular Pokemon (in Japan), but never the most popular Pokemon. I don't think anyone other than Pikachu (no matter what polls will say) can hold that title.

Jokes aside, watch Pizzadudemanguy's,Olekidsf's,and DedicatedSpecialist Ridley video's.

Lucario is still being heavily promoted and actually replaced Zoroark as the mascot of Pokemon Smash, so there's not much reason for him to go.

You know who else is old news?
Pikachu.
Jigglypuff.
Pokémon Trainer.

OOP. Guess we need to replace them all with someone new.

I got it.
Pikachu will be replaced by that Helioptile thing, Jigglypuff will be taken out for Swirlix, Pokémon Trainer will be replaced by the Kalos Pokémon Trainer, and they will use Froakie, Chespin's middle stage, and Fennekin's final stage.
Lucario can be taken out for Awakened Mewtwo.

There. Problem solved.
Throw in Pangoro too. Pangoro's cool.

Okay, I understand. Thanks for bringing it up. I guess this makes sense; it just depends on who and what minds are designing the characters.

The irony is that if we focus too much on what is hip with the kids these days, it's going to cause the games to age much worse down the line. Fads never last in anything, and things that focus on it will suffer.

I focus almost nothing on that. Haven't really seen other people do it either, but I could be wrong.

Yeah. That is why "fad games" only last for about 2-3 months then are never spoken of again, like a bad childhood memory that just needs to be forgotten.

K, due to feedback Evee will be cut from the roster and remain in my "Biggest Predicitons List"

However, should I cut JigglyPuff instead of Lucario? Or should JigglyPuff stay do to a more unique move set and being a fairy Pokemon?

I think they should stay because one is an original veteran, is iconic and has a unique moveset and the other Lucario has a unique moveset, and is popular as well as being on his way to earning iconic status possibly if they continue to promote him like they do mewtwo.

JigglyPuff shouldn't go because he/she's been here since the first game. I'd say replace Lucario with Mewtwo if you don't already have him.

Which is what I like about Super Smash Bros., it's got a good sense of both old and new. It's not lopsided to either, and generally focuses on both sides to create a sense of satisfaction for both old and new fans of the varies franchises presented. Honestly, if we focused too much on what was recent, we'd get something like Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale.

I personally don't think that will carry on forever. And it certainly shouldn't be the sole reason of keeping a character. ESPECIALLY not a Pokemon Character.

Wait, what's wrong with overrepping Pokemon? Technically speaking, if you included P.T.'s transformation, there'd be 6 playable pokemons in Brawl already.

If we cut Red and keep Charizard, is there any prob with that?
