I feel that Andrew had some potential to be an Andross 2.0 with a body, but oh well. I like Pigma due to him being the scumbag of the SF franchise. For some reason I like scumbag characters in video games but only to a certain extent.

As for Katt, oh god please no. The devs who made Command already started to ruin her when they screwed up her color palette and that weird orange boob armor.

The funny thing is that I wouldn't mind her Command look if it was just a separate character and NOT Katt. Pretty much how I felt when DmC (Ultimate Devil May Cry ) came out.

Command isnt canon so hopefully they forget it completely, kat is still pink in my book, I still hope she is the next star wolf team member.

The pink toad isnt cannon and neither is krystal leaving the star fox team, however I could easily see kat joining the team of star wolf mercenaries. Wolf, Leon, Panther, and Kat would be a pretty cool team.

Just because I have a life outside SmashBoards doesn't mean I'm ignoring. I don't always have time to respond to 3 really long posts at once, especially when some of them either are talking about something I never said or implied or are ranting about something I've talked about before.

It does not take up nearly as much development time as you think it does.

Having Wario having two costumes isn't pointless, Wario is well known for two things.

Just like Bowser is fairly well known for becoming Dry Bowser.

Why would I want to go through the time to play as Dry Bowser?

I don't quite understand, that's like asking why would I want to go through the time to get visible damage or to make Wario do that flashy thing he does when he fights for too long.

But it's just something completely aesthetic that would just be pointless in the long run.

The point is representing a popular form of Bowser that a lot of people like. Through some way or another.

Drake has nothing to do with the type of discussion we're having. It's got nothing to do with characters in the slightest, it's a background object. It's not meant to interfere or be part of the actual battle going on in the foreground.

Who said he couldn't be an alternate costume. In my alternate forms section I have Girl Villager, Overalls Wario, and Dry Bowser. Dry Bowser can be an alternate costume too.

"Get covered in Lava in Norfair and come out as Dry Bowser for the remainder of your stock" that would be a cool way to unlock the Dry Bowser alternate costume.

That's sort of what I'm talking about, but not exclusive to stages, just after a period of fighting time or a costume.

It's not pointless and it would be a waste of a character spot to make it's own thing, especially because it would already know every move Mewtwo would know because that is how forms work in the Pokemon games

Why would it be a waste of a slot, it's less of a waste because it's just the awakened form and no normal Mewtwo. You also said he would know every move Mewtwo knows, that's WHY he shouldn't be a swapping character, he's not unique enough for both forms to be present in the game.

I would love to see the ability so change up your stats to turn Mewtwo into an entirely different character whilst having the same moves. This would pretty much be giving Mewtwo a clone character that doesn't end up taking a slot.

Why on earth would Sakurai implement a character the ability to transform into the same thing at will, but with different physics? How would he be an entirely different character if he has the same moves and is the same character. Also I doubt Mewtwo transforms in the anime to change his weight and speed, that makes the form of his transformation unnecessary. It makes more sense to just have Newtwo by himself if he has the same moves and just forget about the other form completely. Once you are Newtwo you have no reason to switch back to Mewtwo. You even admitted he's not unique enough for them to switch between each other because he has the same moves.


What does Mewtwo have that Newtwo doesn't? It's obvious he transforms into Newtwo to upgrade his powers, not to be a different fighting style, Zelda has magic and she can transform into a Ninja like fighter, Samus has her robot suit and she can transform into a fighter with human reflexes and a grapple beam. Mewtwo transforms into a more powerful Mewtwo with the same fighting style, THAT is a waste of development time, it would take more time than Dry Bowser and would make no sense or point because once you become Newtwo there is no reason to go back to Mewtwo. This is why Newtwo should be his own character and Mewtwo shouldn't. Newtwo would have everything Mewtwo has plus more. You suggested a change in physics would be a reason to have it, that's as pointless as Bowser transforming into Dry Bowser, but just with different physics.

To review it's safe to assume

1. They're the same fighting style and Pokemon type.
2. There's nothing Mewtwo can do that Newtwo couldn't.
3. Newtwo is an upgraded form of Mewtwo, meaning once you become him there is no reason to go back to Mewtwo.

So it's just as pointless as having Mario transform into Dr. Mario or Dry Bowser transforming into Dry Bowser with different physics. This is why my roster has Newtwo by himself. It makes no sense to press Down B to become someone with the same moves or powers.

not really. considering there's so much proof to show that the series doesnt follow any other games canons. Like how pikachu is roughly half the size of Charizard in Brawl even though canon-wise Charizard is roughly 4 feet taller than Pikachu, two versions of Link existing at the same time, Ness and Lucas being around at the same time and we could honestly go on.

Im hoping its that way as well, they should just pick up after SF64 3D and start from there, it gets rid of all the crap and sticks with the classic team. Better to start somewhat fresh at this point IMO.

I dont mean a reboot per se, but just keep it like the original and SF64 took place in canon, but go off in a different direction then where it did with adventures/assault/command. I just want the original team dynamic in place, peppy should not have been sidelined

I don't think Star Fox needs a reboot, though... I mean, it's not like the canon is even that important, they can just continue on with the story.

Though, I suppose then they could redo some of the aspects of the whole Andross thing...

If Starfox Command did NOT have touch controls it would have been a VERY worthy succesor of Starfox 64 and would be a HUGE hit.

(personally I think Starfox 2 is way better than Starfox 64 don't kill me)

DMC didnt take anything from the past games though other than characters and their dynamic with each other, it was all its own thing and didnt line up with any of the past games. What im saying is that they keep the originals in place and add onto them instead of what came after. I always thought of a reboot as starting from zero, brand new, nothing in the past mattered and it is a stand alone story, this would still keep everything from 64 and the original, kind of like metroid other m did (i know people dont like that example but its the only one i could think of at the moment), it kept everything from metroid to super metroid, but didnt mention anything from prime.

You know for Starfox I actually wouldn't mind a reboot. I literally have no interest in the actual SF game as of now as for some odd reasons I hate the SF games yet I love the characters. Dunno why. But there is so much potiental for a reboot and creating a whole new canon. If I'm not mistaken in 64 they were suppose to be at war but it was pretty lackluster (albeit probably due to it being an old game). They could kinda of go off of that idea if they decide to do a whole reboot of the series and create a whole new canon and having Krystal there from the start as a part of team Starfox instead of comming in at a later game, along with a new character (Peppy could be moved to a tactician position and thus due to his age and thus not get in the action and Slippy could be to valabule of a mechanic). And allot more emphasis on the space portion. Show off giant ships in space that serve as bases and the like. Just reboot the whole series and do it in a way so I will actually give 2 figs about the actual games and not jsut the characters. :L

Or, instead of just rebooting the series and basically saying "We've done goofed the last several games", they could do what every other series has done and just... Make a good new game? Shocking proposition, I'm sure.

Assault was a step in the right direction, for example. They could easily keep the original on-rails shooter formula and simply improve upon the lacking but otherwise potent on-ground segments and multiplayer. Wii U is ripe for that kind of play too, especially if the pacing is smoothed out so as to not feel like the ground segments are forced.

na if we get a reboot one of 3 things should happen to krystal
1. Dies a horrible death
2. retcon it so she no longer exist
3. make her a villain (instead of fox going to that dino planet make it wolf or something like that)
