To be fair when gen 6 comes out Genesect, Zoroark, and Victini will all be old news really so while that help's your argument some it does hurt it, also I beg to differ about Lucario being old news Gamefreak apparently doesent see it that way or else they would have dropped him already I think the fact his generation has been over for about 3-4 year's now and gamefreak still uses him till this day for promotions and advertisements says he has a pretty bright future and his popularity is still astonishingly high.
Though Genesect would be completely awesome! I like his design and im also a sucker for steel types...
I don't know, Zoroark has shown that it could possibly be a catchable pokemon in Gen 6 since it's been in alot of promotional videos for Gen 6, and Genesect's popularity seems to be getting stronger thanks to its new movie, I don't think the time of Zoroark and Genesect being old news won't come around until after the release of Smash Bros 4.

Since Jigglypuff and Slveon are fairy types, do you think it's possible Jigglypuff could be cut for Slveon?
Also if that was the case, these could be the next reps for Pokemon.
-Pikachu
-Sylveon
-Zoroark
-Pokemon Trainer
-Mewtwo
Fixed.

Oh...well...I don't think it's proper to leave out Mewtwo then, especially since we already know that Mewtwo is already under serious consideration for Smash Bros 4.
Seconding this.

If Sakurai wants a sixth gen Pokemon in his roster and he doesn't consider Mewtwo to be one, then I think we'd be looking at: Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo and Sylveon, with one of: Lucario, Pokemon Trainer, Zoroark and Genesect in a possible fifth slot.

EDIT: Just remembered that Sylveon has a mini-movie coming out alongside the Mewtwo movie. Nothing to get excited over, but it's something that may have more material.

What is a Sylveon? Ok. Just looked it up... no... no. That freak isn't going to get in before my beautiful Meowth. :p

Anyways... I think Pokemon Trainer will be cut. Just my two cents. I really need to type up the reasons he will be cut... then I can just copy and paste it. That sounds like a plan. :smirk:

Im pretty sure mewtwo is going to be counted as 6 gen and sylveon may get it in but there is more demand for mewtwo than there is sylveon and sakurai does listen to the fans...

I really doubt Sylveon getting in. Gen 6 will be easy to represent due to Jigs with it now having the Fairy type along with the Normal type, and the pretty possible chance of Mewtwo's getting in as it's new form.

I think the Pokemon line-up will end up something like this;
Pikachu
Jigglypuff
Pokemon Trainer or if they decide Pokemon Trainer is to hard to develop then just charizard.
Mewtwo (new form)
Zoroak

This guy knows what he is talking about. Where is the written rule that Gen 6 even needs to be represented at all? I mean I think Mewtwo's Awakened Form and Jigglypuff's new type will be good enough. Zororak is STILL more important than any other 6th Gen Pokemon as of yet. No doubt relevancy plays a role... but look at our rosters from previous games. I mean it is just Gen 1 spam anyways. Only two Pokemon are from other Gens. Pichu (a troll PKMN which is also the pre-evolution of Pikachu... which essentially makes it Gen 1 anyways. Especially considering that he is the Pikachu in Brawl) and Lucario (who is a mirror of Zoroark in terms of conception). I mean Sylveon might be getting pushed... that doesn't mean it will be a fighter in Brawl. I mean seriously.

Let's not rush to conclusions here, we don't even know if Jigglypuff is getting new moves, they may want to keep Jigglypuff the same since she's been the same for all three games and her fighting style is somewhat iconic in the series.

Mewtwo will not be a 6th Gen rep, he, like Pikachu and Jigglypuff, are reps of the series overall.

U just jealous because Sylveon is more adorable and represents a much more important pokemon family. :c

@BluePikmin: No, because the second character doesn't have AI. Nana, the Pikmin and the Pokemon Trainer do.

Wouldn't Zelda/Sheik be hard to develop also?
Not at this point. They have already done it twice. Not to mention developing 2 is WAY easier than developing 3. You can tell they messed up in Melee. Sheik was top while Zelda was bottom. In Brawl they are way closer to each other. So they are getting better at balancing the two. No doubt Zelda/Sheik is already one of the hardest in the roster to balance. However, I think they have got it down now. The real problem with the two is too make sure Zelda is viable and that Sheik ins't top.

Pike is considered as both I would say. Jigs is more Gen 1 then what it use to be. Mewtwo can do both Gen 6 and overall like Pika. Jigs has gotten at least one new move every new Smash (Melee she gained the ability to role, in Brawl or singing was replaced by her napping), so it's not unreasonable for Jigs to get a new move and it be Fairy based, making Jigs so much easier to develop also.

Wouldn't Zelda/Sheik be hard to develop also?
Sheilda is jsut 2 characters.

Pokemon Trainer is at the least 3 characters, but it can be argued that is 4 character also.

Saying that Mewtwo Awakened Form isn't Gen 6 is like saying Umbreon/Espeon aren't Gen 2. That is like saying Leafeon or Glaceon aren't Gen 4. I mean there is a difference. All of the Eevee forms are evolution based and Mewtwo just has a form. However, it is pretty much the same thing. No doubt his resurrection and promotion in Gen 6 is enough to justify using him as a Gen 6 rep. I mean we didn't get a Gen 3 or Gen 5 rep anyways. I hardly even consider Pichu a Gen 2 rep (pre-evolution of Pikachu/Pichu being Pikachu in Brawl, not to mention he was a clone troll character). That is hardly representing a Gen. If adding a trollish clone pre-evolution is enough to be called a Gen 2 rep... Awakened Form is MORE than enough to be called a Gen 6 rep.

We don't even know that if Mewtwo is being added in his classic forme or his Awakened Forme. Since Sakurai has proven he doesn't care about generation representation, it will most likely be Classic Mewtwo overall with very little Awakened Mewtwo, if any Awakened Mewtwo at all. But also, I can't be the only one that notices that the Eevee family has gotten the shaft in representation in Smash Bros.

Geez, I missed a lot going on in this thread.
We've seen Wario's belly poking from out of his shirt in WarioWare and even Brawl's first trailer.
He's just a tub of lard with an outie belly button.
Speaking of which, it's still in his texture file, but you can't see it in the final game when the Wario Waft is fully charged.

No offense, but being not a fan of Dry Bowser isn't a reason. There are a lot of Nintendo characters some people don't like.

What about Dry Bowser's popularity? What's wrong with him being a Zero Suit Samus? He can have his own moves if you want. It's not going to hurt you. No offense, but just because you don't care weather he's in it or not doesn't make him unlikely.

With all the characters that have transformations, Dry Bowser is a very popular transformation. He does it NSMB, NSMB2, Super Mario 3D Land, and he was even playable in Mario Kart Wii & Mario Tennis Open.

Dry Bowser is almost guaranteed to be a transformation.
Dry Bowser would be interesting, but I don't know if be should be a transformation. (like one from a Final Smash?)
Also, your main account is unbanned, Noah.

Hahah Yeah, nice try. before I continue DRY BOWSER IS NOT A SEPERATE CHARACTER. That's like the 4th time I had to say that. Who would assume that Dry Bowser would be an individual character????

#1: Dry Bowser is NOT obscure. he was in NSMB, NSMB2, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart Wii, and Mario Tennis Open. WHAT are you talking about???????

#2: DRY BOWSER IS NOT A SEPARATE CHARACTER.
Sorry, but he was in fact a separate character in Mario Kart Wii, much like how Metal Mario became a separate character in SSB64 and later became a racer in Mario Kart 7.

I find the idea of turning transformations into their own beings to be weird, but whatever.

My Very First Roster. What do you guys think.
Yes, there are 5 FE reps, I couldn't help myself.
Also, since this is my first roster tell me if I missed anybody that would be a facepalm if I forgot.
-Fire Emblem has a lot of characters, which is nice, but it should be cut down to 4 at most. Either replace Lucina with Chrom and cut Roy or keep Roy and cut Lyn or Lucina.

-Add a fifth Mario character (I mean, you added a whooping 3 FE chars and 2 DK chars, so...)

-Metroid is under-repped compared to Star Fox and Donkey Kong.

-Porky would make for a better Mother villain, as he's been in both Earthbound and Mother 3 and has faced both Ness and Lucas.

But also, I can't be the only one that notices that the Eevee family has gotten the shaft in representation in Smash Bros.
Yeah...Eevee should at least be added as a Pokeball Pokemon this time around. Randomly evolves into any of the Eons and attacks. But if that's too complex, just add Sylveon as a Pokeball Pokemon.

It should have been like a Clefairy metronome type of move. Eevee should come out of the ball... transform into one of its forms... and do a move specific to the form.

In relating news, I would love it if Sakurai gave Gen 6 the middle finger and gave us classic Mewtwo. I wouldn't mind Awakened Form as a final smash.

Mewtwo is still Mewtwo even with a new form, It's like Deoxy's Speed Form, only it's Mewtwo's Awakened form.
I said that in my post. However, it still correlates. The same Pokemon in a different generation with a different form. Even if it isn't the precise example. That is like saying a Pichu in Kanto is still Johto... it just doesn't make sense. Not to mention this isn't the same Mewtwo. This Mewtwo is not from Kanto.

The difference with Deoxys is that his form's where in his generation if it cameout in later gen's that would be a different story none the less awakend mewtwo is still considered gen 6 to Gamefreak.

I'm a big FE fan but even I think that's too many FE characters. There should cuts between Lyn, Lucina, and Roy, with 1 but probably 2.

I don't see Mother getting three reps either, but it could work if the Masked Man was a heavy clone. Donkey Kong and Star Fox with four reps at the same time is interesting, but I think I have done a roster like that. Isaac, Little Mac, Palutena, and Takamaru are all good choices. I am not too sure about Samurai Goroh, as F-Zero doesn't need another rep considering it's a driving game.

I think it might be weird to have Toon Zelda without Toon Link, so Toon Link makes more sense than clasic in this case. Pokemon should get a new rep that isnt a returned, probably from generation 5 or 6. 5 is more likely since not a lot is known about pokemon from 6 yet (ld change when we are close to X and Y release date. I would cut between Lucario and Pokemon Trainer for this rep. And the problem with Zelda and Pokemon having five reps is that it leaves Mario with only four. Despite the fact you put him in the Mario column, Yoshi is still definitely in his own franchise, so I think another Mario rep should be in the game if you choose to keep Zelda and Pokemon with 5. I would probably get a space by removing Miis or Samurai Goroh.

I only expect Mewtwo to come in new form tbh. Also the reason this could work is because it can make it a "new" character instead of a returning vet with new moves and all the jaz. Otherwise I honestly don't see Mewtwo coming back, as it's to soon imo for a cut veteran to come back yet but Mewtwo can get around this by being in the new form with new moves. It's the same reason I don't expect any of the ones cut from Melee to return, and don't try to bring up to Roy DLC redesign up as its completly different from the Mewtwo situation.

I'd be fine with either, but I'd prefer Goroh. He's one of the original 4 racers and is Falcon's rival.

Plus Smash needs more fat dudes.
This. I'd be interested in seeing what creativity Sakurai has with Goroh should he get in. Too bad a F-zero rep is looking unlikely though... :(

But if Generation representation really mattered wouldn't we have seen Gen II and Gen III Pokemon be playable in Brawl, especially with Pokemon Trainer? Instead we had a major imbalance with five Gen I Pokemon and one Gen IV Pokemon (Which could've easily be remedied with Pokemon like Totodile, Grovyle, etc).

I would be led to believe that a Pokemon's popularity and familiarity with Smash's fanbase should be partially reflective of who becomes playable, not because we need representation among generations (Because we have Poke Balls to do that) or because Pokemon X is now the most recent.

So if Pokemon receives 4 slots I predict we will see Mewtwo (Normal, with Reawakened as a Final Smash), Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Pokemon Trainer. If we see 5 slots then I will add in Lucario.

It's never too soon for Mewtwo, especially since he's been planned for every game in the franchise and would have been in Brawl if they were allowed a little more time to develop him. And people who compare Roy to Mewtwo in terms of coming back? They need to get their facts straight, Fiery Marth's priority is little to non-existent compared to Mewtwo.

Uhhhhh...........ehhhhh?
Absolute words of wisdom.

I'd prefer to just play as a Sylveon, but I'd take whatever I can get at this point.

I personally that would've been cool. Seeing a trio made up of starters from different gens. Though I do agree with your prediction.

Anyway, I'm not sure who pointed it out first. But the chances of an Eevee form being added seems kinda unlikely. Not impossible by any stretch though. But I like the Pokeball idea.

I just don't see Lucario receiving that kind of treatment. Lucario's overall popularity has been dropping recently and his importance to the franchise is almost little to non-existant. He's not even the super-rare pokemon he was in Brawl days, which seriously takes away from his interest factor.

Zoroark is a pokemon who had events that spread across two generations, is still a really rare and popular pokemon, and a Dark Type would be a new type of fighting style. Genesect is a Pokemon who has direct connections to the villainous team in the franchise, which is huge, and he's only continuing to become popular as time goes on, Victini is still popular thanks to having two movies, being the first major event Pokemon of Gen 5, and having a role in the latest Mystery Dungeon title, that and he's Junichi Masuda's favorite pokemon. Lucario just looks like he's going to become obscure as generations go on, and while these three may follow suit later on, they're still pretty relevant in the franchise and are still very popular, as well as being unique in their own rights.

And regardless of what happens...I will support Sylveon dammit! It's so freaking adorable and the Eevee family deserves some respect! Seriously, Eevee is almost a mascot to the franchise like Pikachu is, but he never gets recognition, especially since he's been the main pokemon of more games than Pikachu has, and has been obtainable in every gen since its release.
