Just resize him, and you'll grant yourself a purple flying monster you guys might actually like when you play as him.
To be honest, the only reason people complain about Ridley being too big is that they've yet to put him as playable character yet. I'm sure pre-Melee days people were saying Bowser was too big, and once he was released, people actually warmed up to the idea. That's mainly speculation, but a simple resizing is alot easier for Ridley than people think.

Even with this, you could say Bowser's size is not constant, which you've obviously shown it isn't, Ridley has still always been big except in the original Metroid and that Melee intro people seem to bring up. Plus he is the main Mario, the face of nintendo, bad guy and how could they not put him in? You still haven't seemed to address how he would work gameplay wise or how resizing a character like Ridley, who is canonically big, differs from Bowser, who has changed size repeatedly. Try tackling that instead of bringing up the same counter argument over and over. I thought we were done with this.
The last time I checked, Ridley's size isn't constant either. Like Bowser, he's always been big and has varied from about twice Mario's size to the size of a small building, although canonically Bowser has been at sizes that would dwarf Ridley. And I've already designed a video discussing said gameplay. Ridley support thread, page 109, look it up and enjoy. I'm done with that argument, dead arguments seem to be a little tiring after being used so much.

I'm sure that 64 bowser was smaller than Prime Ridley, but it might not be. Ridley was 3-4 times Samus' size in Prime. He could get in. I just can't see it. Let's move on.

His size changes repeatedly, but in every case, Bowser is still bigger than Mario. Bowser is canonically big, much as how Ridley is.

Please stop trying.

He's bigger than mario in brawl too. How big/heavy would Ridley be and combined with his fast attacks, he'd be pretty broken and hard to balance. And I repeat, I don't see it personally. I'm not "trying" to convince anyone of anything.

I wonder what new (or old) controversial issue we could uncover next?

I don't think my heart could take another round of FE discussion. I almost hope it stays as Marth and Ike just for some people's reactions.

I'm always up for more FE talk. Bring on the FE!
We've had so many of those before and there's never a positive outcome to come from them. What I said was a joke.

Please, for the love of god, don't make us talk about Fire Emblem again.
Palutena's hair is too green to get into Super Smash Bros.

Discuss.
Green-team Donkey Kong confirmed for deconfirmed.

Oh yea totally! Let's also remove Ike and bring back Roy, you know, because was directly replaced and stuff! :troll:

....Roy was seriously a consideration?
You'd be surprised how many people are still dying to play as Fiery Marth.

Here's what I would consider a fairly realistic roster that I got from this whole Ridley discussion:
realistic Roster.png

The only character I see as a real reach would be the Lucina and Chrom combination, but I just want I different type of character like Pokemon Trainer in the roster. In this pair, you switch off between them but only one of them attacks at a time.
Adds: King K. Rool, Dixie Kong, Ridley, Lucina/Chrom, Classic Link (who goes by Young Link)., Palutena, Little Mac, Isaac, Newtwo and Zoroark (who is just a place holder for any generation V/ VI rep). I have this idea for a Pokemon Trainer who is battles with the Pokemon instead of Zoroark, so I still need to flesh them out.
New Franchises not at E3: Golden Sun, Punch-Out!!
No Takamaru (just to make roster smaller he could easily fit into that left slot), No Shulk (between him and Isaac, coin flip between the two), No Krystal (due to dormant series, could make it as late add), No Miis (No interest), No Pac-Man (based on no priority for Namco characters statement)..
Problems: Not enough retro characters, which Sakurai said he was going add. Not a lot of new franchises overall in comparison to other threads. The roster should be smaller, but I can't cut no more.

I'd be fine with that. I want and expect a third rep, but if we stick with Marth and Ike I'm cool. They're both great.
So would I, but given the huge success of Awakening becoming the most successful north american Fire Emblem title in about 7-8 months after its release, there's no way the game is just going to be overlooked, especially since we're confirmed to have Fairfax Stadium as a stage in the handheld version. I'm just going to say Chrom and leave it at that. Marth and Chrom are the characters most likely for Smash 4. I also don't think that Fire Emblem deserves three reps, especially considering there are bigger Nintendo franchises that could use another rep before they do. AKA Donkey Kong Country and Metroid.

Same here. I'd love to see Roy in and highly support him, but it's not something I'd cry over if he didn't get in (beside, I want Mewtwo and King K. Rool more and I'd be far more disappointed because I see literally no reason why Mewtwo should be left out and K. Rool's exclusion would probably that his day in gaming is over). I'd be much more upset if Marth or Ike got axed.

I am highly against there being no Takamaru, Takamaru is an amazing inclusion that deserves to be in Smash Bros. Also, the Chrom/Lucina thing is gimmick stealing.

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine, mom. :p

Lets talk about King Boo geetting into SSB4 then~
Speaking of King Boo...I'm calling a Treacherous Mansion or Gloomy Manor stage for the 3DS.

I couldn't help but notice that you have a 3rd party character on there that isn't very practical. How are you going to put Goku's villain without putting Goku in the game as well? That is a real reach if you ask me... besides I thought we all agreed to no anime characters in the game. I mean why don't you throw in Master Chief, Cloud, Naruto, and Sora at that rate?

Frieza doesn't even fuse with Superbuu in canon. So having Majin Mewbuu is a little crazy if you ask me. Fanfiction gone wrong....

You forgot Phoenix Wright.

Also, Why cut Lucas?

Nuff said!
Look, Fiery Marth is alright and all, but there's only one real character that actually deserves to return and has actually been considered to return:

I don't think there's any denying the fact that Mewtwo's returning is a much bigger deal than Roy's. I mean, although he's only appeared as a playable character in one game, he has been planned for every game of the series at some point or another.

Takamaru would be my top add, as I mentioned in the middle. I could easily just slide him in the left corner. And that would solve my retro add, but I want to add an international retro character.

Lucina/Chrom is based off the pairing up mechanic in Awakening. Different than Ice Climbers in that only one attacks at a time, and different than Zelda in that it is not a transformation.

I want Mewtwo back, but I really hope it isn't Newtwo. Maybe it's nostalgia speaking, but original Mewtwo looks way more badass. At least give a skin swap or something.

A Samus/Zero Suit Samus system of switching between two completely different characters while being the same person is a possibility.

All I can say is...I hope that rumor of Takamaru being revealed by a Namco employee is true. We've had a bunch of different sword styles in Smash Bros, but nobody has been a Samurai...but he can use fire attacks as well, so I guess Roy isn't that important anymore. :p
