I honestly don't think Namco alone is enough to give Pac-Man a last minute slot. Sonic had a gigantic following, and I just don't see that for Pac-Man.


Namco was to help with game balance. I doubt Namco had anything to do with the roster. Sakurai knew he was gonna make Smash Bros next. Don't you think he would at least come up with some ideas during KI:U's development?

I mean, Namco does try to push Pac-man into everything (see new television show, tekken X Capcom, Mario kart GP, party games, etc...) so maybe they can beg sakurai enough?

I would imagine Sakurai had the roster planned out before Namco got involved. Unless Sakurai immediately added Pac-Man as soon as hearing Namco was working with him, which I don't see happening, I just don't think namco alone is enough for Pac-Man. If it wasn't for Namco, he would barely be considered right now.

Ness
Jigglypuff
At least one of Lucario/PKMN Trainer

Will all be back. At least I think that's fair. So if we add each of these suggested characters, we'll see anywhere from 35 to 38 just from this and the confirmed roster as of right now.

But it doesn't stop there. Let's not forget Snake, Ike, Sheik and Lucas, who are also just as likely to come back (let's face it, there isn't a solid reason to keep Snake out at this point).

That would be a no cuts roster, and adding that to what we currently have, it gives us (at this point) a 43 character roster.

I can see anywhere between 47-50 (including ZSS, Sheik, and the individual Pokemon for the Trainer). Maybe more.

If we see no cuts, making 40 characters because I add Mewtwo since it's safe to say he will be in, we have 4 newcomers, which will make 44 characters. I can guess 3-6 more newcomers, which I would say, since there isn't a whole lot more Sakurai can do (face it, we're on our last leg of getting characters), is a reasonable amount. I would say 7-10 newcomers would be very solid.
