Depends on your spectrum. If you like Metroid and thinks it needs more reps, then Ridley. But if you want classic, different characters and think DK deserves more respect, than Krool. But it's all opinionated.

It's a tough call.
Although while Ridley has some stuff going against him, the only thing against K. Rool at the moment is the competition between other DK characters.
So I'd probably say K. Rool, by a tiny bit.

-Can be a hazard.
-Can be a boss.
-His model and animations are hard to do.
-Is only popular here.
K.Rool:
-No recency.
-Dixie Kong can be the only DK newcomer.
