I think people wouldn't be so confused about that trailer if the Smash logo just came up.
But then again, that adds to the suspense.

Yeah but the Smash firey intro thing didn't come up in the Direct, only in the individual trailer afterward. At least with Rosalina. Chances are it'll be like that in the future, Sakurai wouldn't stand having his trolling impeded.

doubt it, unless sakurai really wants to do something special for Christmas, its not likely,
he'll probably show us some funny picture with the characters we already know, or maybe a stage, I just doubt a character because of rosalina

Although I feel like Rosalina being the only reveal this month is more possible than not.

Me thinks it will be a semi-clone, a similar situation to what happened in September with Toon Link revealed.

If there is anyone yet to reveal in this month. I'd say it would be a Zelda character (most likely Zelda herself) for the Japanese release of A Link Between worlds, Not sure if we will though as we just had a newcomer revealed and character reveals aren't always tied to their games release but we'll see I guess.... :/

Yeah, but we're not getting him because he's boring, he's a silent protagonist, Sakurai gave him no stickers in Brawl, he's second-party, we already haz swords, scarfs are lame, Japan has always despised GS, and Shulk is British.

I've been saying all along that Chrom's chances have been overstated. Not that he's a terrible choice or a highly unlikely one, but I never felt as he was among the most likely characters, even after E3 2013.

Let's be honest here, Rosalina was not a popular choice around here. For many reason, I would have dismissed her, even after her playable appearance in Super Mario 3D World (even though I liked the character, just didn't see her as "deserving"). Rosalina is positively received because of how well her move set is being done and how enjoyable her play style is. I guarantee you that if she had been a semi-clone, her inclusion would be despised.

We're at the point where uniqueness is necessary for most characters to get in and this extends to Chrom as well. Chrom getting in as as semi-clone, especially as the expense of Ike, would be a very bad move on Sakurai's part. If this happens, he will be one of the worst received characters in Smash and stick out like a sore thumb (and in a bad way). With Sakurai's extensive focus on uniqueness this game, I believe Sakurai is aware of the similarities Chrom possess with Marth and Ike. Luckily, Chrom is able to utilize weapons from different classes that can make him unique and this can make him an enjoyable addition. However, I feel as if this is not the case, either Chrom will end up being one of the worst received character in Smash or he will not be in.

I think it's unfortunate that not much has been done with F-Zero, cause the cast of characters is great. I think Goroh is obvious, but if we were just talking about fun characters, I would love to see more of Pico, Mighty Gazelle, and Silver Neelsen.

What would be awesome is if Samurai Goroh got in and pulled a Captain Falcon in regards to uniqueness. Can't be impossible to do, plus it would be nice to see a second F-zero character.

ICaptain Falcon is all we'll get, and all we'll need until hell freezes over and we get a new F-Zero.

You never know. There was no good reason to expect Rosalina outside of uniqueness and she got in.

I very much doubt we'll be getting another character this month if it's not tied to promotion, which is pretty much only applicable to ALBW...

Well she's also made several appearance in noteworthy Mario titles as of late, including being playable in a main 3D one (which Sakurai very well could've known about), not to mention she is one of the more popular Mario characters in Japan. It's not really enough to have been strongly expected, I agree, but it's still more than a second F-Zero character can claim imo.

Some of them were cool, yes, but i personally think the SSE will be better without the majority xD

Well, I mean, Roy and Lyn both would have the same thing going for them if Roy wasn't playable in Smash before.

That being said neither would have a lot going for them, only Roy was playable in the past, giving people hope he will be playable again.

I don't like when people bring up no story mode in Smash 4 as a bad thing.
SSE was good, but it took up tons of time that could have been used for programming new characters.
And Smash has shown to be amazing in the past without a story, as shown by the original and Melee.
So I don't find it to be a downside at all. In fact I may actually prefer it.
