People need to understand that we all love certain characters. Wait until more members come. I can almost guarantee that there will be a devout Sheik fan that will war against Diddy. Then we'll see who comes out on top.

There've been 'devout Sheik fans' who simply don't care if Impa would replace Sheik. Chances are, if people like Sheik, they like Impa. Other way around cannot always be assumed, why? Impa simply has more roles.

I don't know, sheik just has made a bigger impact on me as a gamer. impa not as much.

I think it's unfortunate that not much has been done with F-Zero, cause the cast of characters is great. I think Goroh is obvious, but if we were just talking about fun characters, I would love to see more of Pico, Mighty Gazelle, and Silver Neelsen.

Alright, we have this same Impa argument every day.
There's no reason to cut Sheik JUST so that we can have Impa instead. Why cut a character for a clone of that same character? Not to mention, even if they were separate, Impa wouldn't really bring anything new that Sheik and other characters haven't brought already.

but really I like impa from where I got into skyward sword, but the first impression was kinda meh. the one after the.... dessert place I think it was? made me like her a lot. Sheik on the other hand, I never finished orcarina(I couldn't ever find that last damn carpenter) always gave of this feeling of mystery and wonder. it's a tough call. impa really never did anything useful in orcarina that made an impact, going to say I like sheik better at the moment. (BTW im still planning on finishing skyward sword no spoilers plz)

what? I'm only 16. I played them at about the same time, (a couple years is considered the same time right?) so none of that matters for me, I'm making claims about my first experiences with the game. Impa's cool, but sheik is cooler, and also relevant.

There was apperantly also no reason to cut Young Link for Toon Link then? Ocarina of Time is 10.000.000.000.999 x better than Wind Waker right? And any other Zelda game in existance. How is it even possible an Ocarina of Time character got shafted for such a worthless character, that's basically the same character but in a different skin? Bothers me greatly till this day and hour.

She can do kung fu-like fighting, cast barriers (that aren't like Pit's shields), have a moveset involving shadows and invinsibility (based on her being the Sage of Shadow / having the Lens of Truth) and possibly use a whole ****ton of weapons. For example, a longsword, as in Hyrule Warriors.

She'd be based of Sheik yes. Much like how say, Jigglypuff is based on Kirby. The alikeness could stop there, or not. I honestly doubt that with Rosalina's reveal, Impa would be anything like Sheik if Sheik is in the game. If she's not however, Impa is easy to create using leftover files from Sheik.

This explains A LOT! Since Impa's real role gets revealed after the final boss battle. And apperantly, everybody is bashing Skyward Sword without ever having finished it. I won't spoil you anything but damn, can't wait to see your reaction when you completed the game.

Also, like N3ON said, Skyward Sword will be the BEST ZELDA IN THE ****ING UNIVERSE once Zelda Wii U gets released.

You see, to get a new F-Zero game. Hell needs to freeze over, then thaw, and then turn into a desert.

Also, A Link to the Past > Wind Waker/Orcaina > Twilight Princess > Zelda 1. Just because.

As for Fire Emblem: I could be satisfied with Marth, Ike and Roy. Of course, if not all of them return and Sakurai adds a new, more unique character, then I won't complain.

Of the remaining FE veterans (Roy and Ike), I think Ike should be more prioritized. Considering Roy was planned for Brawl, it may be possible for Roy and Ike returning alongside Marth.

I honestly don't think a new character has any bearing on Sheik whatsoever, even if it is Impa. I think she's safe because she's with the irreplaceable Zelda, whose most interesting fighting debut was in OoT, with Sheik. Unless they cut Zelda for Toon Zelda (which is incredibly unlikely), removing Sheik would mean taking away half of Zelda's moveset and completely reworking her, which will only anger fans and make for a less interesting fighter. There's no reason they absolutely can't conceivably coexist.

I almost never actually finish games, I just get about 80% done and then never actually finish it. I think the most recent game I have played from beginning to end was golden sun over the summer.

Personally I don't really care whether Shiek stays or goes or whether Impa joins or not. If Zelda's gameplay is busted, they can fix it - cutting Shiek isn't the only solution. Shiek's much more likely than Impa, though, or at least I think so. Sakurai had a perfectly good opportunity to cut her in Brawl if he thought she wasn't working or wasn't relevant enough, and he didn't, so she's probably here to stay. Impa's got enough going for her to allow for a completely unique moveset, I guess, so they could coexist if they needed to. But that's not to say she's guaranteed a unique moveset, and Shiek coexisting with Shiek-clone-Impa seems awkward, tacky, and unlikely.
