....yeah.

@Thekewl:
So what, we'd have Polar Bear Tier?
And yeah, John Solver was the protag of the G&W game Bomb Sweeper, a maze game about diffusing bombs.

Not really much to work with, but I wasn't being serious about him (and obviously the Polar Bear of Death) anyway.

Uh....Well, anyone want to talk about Fire Emblem? No? Me neither. I've got a decent topic. How about this,

What if you were forced give each series one new character, who would you pick? Characters like Game and Watch and Ice Climbers are omitted due to the lack of available characters.
Mario: Toad
Yoshi: Kamek (or Baby Mario Bros)
Wario: Captain Syrup
DK: K.Rool
Zelda: Classic Ganon
Metroid: Ridley or Dark Samus
Star Fox: Krystal
Kirby: Dark Matter? Bandana Dee?
Pokemon: Either Meowth or N Harmonia (with Reshiram, Zekrom, and Zoroark)
Fire Emblem: Either Chrom, Robin, or Medeus
Mother: Porky
F-Zero: Either Goroh or Black Shadow
Kid Icarus: Palutena?
Animal Crossing: Tom Nook?
Pikmin: Louie
Wii Fit: Either Balance Board or Piggy Bank?
Ice Climber: Topi? Polar Bear?
Game & Watch: Snoopy :troll:
Metal Gear: Either Ocelot, The Boss, Raiden, or Big Boss
Sonic: Either Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, or Eggman
Megaman: Megaman X? Bass?

And...what about new series?

Pokemon Ranger: Lunick
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Grovyle (PMD2)
Xenoblade: Shulk

There's times I wish that Zoroark truly had a chance...it could have been an all-new fighting style using illusions to trick opponents. Oh well, hoping at least for some Black/White/Black 2/White 2 music in Smash 4 isn't much I guess. At least add Colress' theme if you add anything.

New series is a completely different can of worms dude :p. There'd be too many to list if were going one per franchise.

Well if there is a strong desire for a new Pokemon and experimenting with new concepts, the Zoroark is probably the best choice. Ignoring the people still unjustifiable downplaying Zoroark because of Lucario.

Well, if anything, Rosalina's inclusion has increased my hopes for Zoroark, as Zoroark is basically in the same boat as Rosalina was. They were more recent and minor characters compared to what we were expecting for Smash Bros, namely Bowser Jr. and Paper Mario. However, like Zoroark, Rosalina uses a style that is not only very unique, but is something no other character in the game can do. Rosalina is the only one who can use spacial warping and tearing as well as the use of her Lumas, and Zoroark is the only one who can use illusions, and not just that, but her family of pokemon is the ONLY family of pokemon with said ability, which really stands out. Sure she doesn't have a Mega Evolution, but is that really a big deal? It's not as if every pokemon who CAN Mega Evolve WILL. And of course, the raging groups of Lucario fans would never stand for it, especially since said groups are the biggest downplayers of Zoroark.

So yes, I have hopes for Zoroark still. I'm not hoping for Lucario to be replaced, but I would really be interested to see what Sakurai could do with Zoroark.

Depends what you mean by unjustifiable. If we're talking push then Zoroark is behind the Pokémon veterans and I don't see how that's been downplayed, if we're talking uniqueness then it does have something to bring to the table and can give it a bit more to stand out.

Either way, the questions are what will Sakurai value the most, what he considers to be the new "hot Pokémon," and how much leeway is GF giving him with their characters.

Mario: Toad. Using spores and mushroom power ups, alongside his Wario's Woods bombs and monsters(with a little help from a summonable Pidget and Wanda). Can run up walls.
Donkey Kong: Lanky Kong, hitting enemies with gangly arms far better than Waluigi ever could, and blowing himself up like a balloon.
The Legend of Zelda: Medli. Uses harp, can fly, summons her island's dragon for Final Smash.
Metroid: Ridley. I suppose.
Yoshi's Island: Kamek. Keep the babies out. Uses magic to manipulate the field. Could be interesting.
Starfox: Krystal for the sake of variety in Starfox.
Kirby's Dreamland: Bandanna Dee
Pokemon: Meowth. Speedy claw attacker, could combo with sneaky traps if you want to use anime influence. If not, Pay day away.
Fire Emblem: Robin. For the sake of variety in Fire Emblem.
Mother: Porky Minch for the sake of variety in Mother.
F-Zero: Samurai Goroh, most logical next representative. Black Shadow be damned.
Warioware/Land: Captain Syrup. Need more Land repping.
Kid Icarus: Eggplant Wizard. Just to be different.
Animal Crossing: Sable and Mable. They'd fight with thread, needle, mannequins and clothes(like putting an overly large hat on a characters head to stun them momentarily)
Pikmin: Louie, riding all the bugs.
Metal Gear Solid: Revolver Ocelot. Not sure how they'd get around his use of fire arms though.
Sonic the Hedgehog: Tails. Hands down. Don't want another hedgehog(or echidna) and he's also an inventor. Anything Eggman could do Tails could theoretically do.
Wii Fit: Heart Monitor. IDK.
MegaMan: ...Roll? I don't know. I don't Megaman.

That's the thing though, the new hot pokemon...has always been hot, AKA Mewtwo always being very iconic and popular. The last pokemon to really be declared "The Hot New Pokemon" was Zoroark back in Generation 5. There's really been no pokemon like Zoroark to take that place in this current generation of pokemon, not to mention Zoroark is still current as it is indeed available for capture in X and Y.

It's available, but it's not being pushed, even Jigglypuff had more of a showing in the advertising period then Zoroark. When it comes to GF, it seems that they've been focused on other Pokémon and aspects such as Mega Evolution more then they have Zoroark and that can be an issue depending on how Sakurai sees it.

I do agree however that Zoroark is the only rep from current generations that could make it in and the emphasis on uniqueness does help, so if all 5+Mewtwo make it in, Zoroark's right up next.

I thought "The Hot New Pokemon" of gen 6 were the mega evolutions,I mean they are getting the kinda treatment lucario got in gen 4.

Totally serious. Didn't even know of Megaman until the internet rolled around and then Bob and George was my first introduction into Megaman being a thing. Blame me growing up mostly with Sega(and some Mario games at a friends) until N64 era.

People who have been surprised today with my lack of Megaman experience enough to comment about it: 2.

Zoroark really is a very unique and interesting character with loads of potential for a playstyle that hasn't been seen before. Sure I would like to see the Brawl Pokemon and Mewtwo again as much as the next guy, but at the same time it definitely would be a huge shame to see such a unique potential character like Zoroark get the shaft and pushed aside like that. I do agree that she does tend to get a lot of undeserved flack from many fans. I do hope like Rosalina who was also very downplayed as a character, that Zoroark may still stand a chance of becomming playable somehow.

It wasn't awesome...it was insulting.

Also, this is for you Rosalina supporters:

Again, drawing with the Wii U Gamepad is hard for someone who rests his hands on the paper when drawing. :p
I liked the topic, before you got semi-trolled.

But idk how it would be... Felicia isn't you.

They aren't really new pokemon though, just new forms. It's a mechanic that's being hot and pushed, not the actual pokemon themselves.

I don't know, Jigglypuff only had in one old FireRed art picture regarding the fairy types in the fairy type trailer while Zoroark was seen twice in a single trailer, showing off Route 20's forest area and also in Pokemon-Amie. Regardless, I'm going to keep faithful. I mean, things CAN go differently than what we expect, it's happened before, and I already thought of the PERFECT idea for a Zoroark trailer.

I liked the topic, before you got semi-trolled.

Nope, she isn't me, but I am, hands down, her #1 Fan. :3

I mean this in no offensive way, but this is a rather stupid claim. What does Zoroark have over Genesect in terms of popularity, relevance, and uniqueness?

May as well join in while I'm at it - hi, guys. I'm Richard Nixon.

I'm starting to think Zoroark's a bit more likely now too based on his unique ability - the only thing working against him is the obvious competition for Pokemon spots. Mewtwo's practically a given, and Pokemon's already got more characters than any other series counting transformations, so he'd probably have to beat out a veteran to get in. But on the other hand, I dunno how solid Lucario and PT really are. They only really need one Pokemon to show off mega evolution - and if Mewtwo's coming back you can bet it'll be him. So whether or not Lucario and Charizard can mega evolve may not even be important.

Its just a character. no need to feel bad about something fictional.
Yeah, well, I'm not like that and I'm not going to go into more details as to why...

Yeah XD,Miiverse has a disturbing lack of Bandana Dee,that's the only reason why I have a Miiverse account.
Well, maybe I'd do it...but again:

THIS isn't exactly easy to do on Miiverse.

That's impossible, characterology does not allow that mentality of thought but no seriously I don't think hotfeet felt that bad about it it was just some friendly trolling at worst.

Downplayed by people fearing Zoroark replacing Lucario and heavily hating Zoroark because of that, even though going by what is going on that's not the strongest possibility. It's in particular the reason people "wanted" Victini instead.
