No, Swampasaur. No. Don't give us hope again. It's nice of you to try and lift the Toad supporter's spirits, but with DLC already unlikely, Toad being DLC is incredibly unlikely.

We've got 3D World at least to enjoy, but it's still pretty disappointing a character as well known as Toad(or the Toads; yes I know, it's a force of habit) didn't get considered at least.

I hope the majority of you are right about Ridley for your sakes. Being genuine.

Also, I really hope Nabbit doesn't make it in over Jr, even if I prefer him overall. That would be a slap in the face to Jr. fans as well.

To be fair, the picture didn't really change anything. Toad still has a chance. It is literally the same thing that we got a few months back (minus the Galaxy stage implications so close the the release of a new game). :awesome:

I am pretty disappointed too. :(

I'm not holding my breath for any particular newcomer, not even Little Mac, and I never have. They all have they're good points and downfalls, but we just don't know what Sakurai's criteria is. It's probably not complicated at all; just whatever he likes, combined with considerations from other developers, 2nd party companies, and fan requests.

I think Toad, Bowser Jr., Little Mac, Ridley, K. Rool, etc. are all great characters, but I would not be surprised to see any of them playable or not playable.

I went onto Miiverse Daily thread and found them talking about Ridley somehow, instead of Toad. Was trying to find out why and seeing the same sort of thing happen here.

Sad days for the Toad parade. Again. But it's just a photo. It's not trolling. As I've said before, I really believe that Sakurai doesn't care about the uptick of negative/positive reaction from fans from each individual photo. Remember, the daily photo isn't something Sakurai has to do.

I don't see Toad as a DLC choice because A) he appears to be already in the game B) doesn't strike me as someone you'd shell out money for. Not to mention DLC is still up in there. I feel like DLC stages are much more likely than DLC characters.

I don't really see Jr. happening. If Sakurai were to ask EAD Tokyo, I can't imagine they would say Bowser Jr. Additionally, I feel like his name is really awkward in the select screen. I can't imagine the announcer saying Bowser Jr with Bowser just right over there. I can't put my finger on it, but it seems like just an awkward name choice. It's different for someone like Doctor or Paper Mario, because that is a different sound in the beginning. I'm just imagining Bowser Jr winning against Bowser and it feels really weird.

Bowser Jr.'s name apparently sounding "awkward" isn't going to help keep him out of Smash.

That was just a personally thing for me. As a result, it's hard for me to imagine him as a character, among other factors.

One thing has sort of changed sadly:

Peach's 'Moveset changes' obviously aren't to do with Toad, and whilst the Capsules received a model makeover, it's clear that the Toad Guard hasn't been given some delicious facial hair to become the Toadsworth Guard.

B's subjective per individual, obviously, as a Toad fan I WOULD shell out the dosh just like a Ridley fan would pay up for him, but I'm actually quoting to agree that if anything's going to be DLC, I'd probably bet on stages too.
I wonder which stages they'll be bringing back from Brawl. Aside from Final Destination and Battlefield, I mean.

I have always supported this idea since before I joined SmashBoards. I was thinking that maybe Andy would be the "Commanding Officer" and he issues orders to a team of Infantry units. The team would be like Ice Climbers, but with guns, and they would have a playstyle/moveset that resemble Contra, the NES game.

Frankly if one of them doesn't get in and Ganondorf is still a Falcon clone, I've lost faith completely in Sakurai.

Best of luck to Bandanna Dee though. Maybe he can succeed where Toad failed. Avenge us!

Gee, Toad reprising the exact same role he had in every other game and somehow people are surprised he is not playable. Kind of your fault for believing in false hope people, now please just stop and start looking into new things.

I am so happy Toad has been shown again. If anyone still thinks he's even remotely likely, that's just Class A denial right there.

There are more people who talk about people in denial than there are people in denial. Actually, I haven't seen a single guy who tries to cling to straws, but I've seen a good chunk of people talking about people in denial.

Onett would be interesting if only to see if a stage can make it back over two games. I'd like Hyrule Temple back for similar reasons; 99 Stock on that level was my childhood playing with friends.

Just realised I didn't answer my own question; it's unlikely but I'd kind of want Green Hill Zone back, Halberd would be really good too. Maybe Luigi's Mansion too.

It's just kind of useless to comment on a group of non-existant people. In this case, I haven't seen a single guy saying that Toad still stands a chance.

Don't see anyone here being in denial.

But I did warn my fellow Toad fans not to indulge into hope. Only reason why I'm ticked to the bones is because some people are *****.

Those are like the two least likely Mario newcomers, even Rosalina is more likely than either.

It's Bowser Jr. or bust, and I'm not counting on him.

I also think Mario is complete.

We got the face of the series, his sidekick/partner, the damsel in distress, and the big bad. Basically the most notable characters characters in the series.
Same type of deal with The Legend of Zelda. We've got the hero (actually heroes), the titular damsel, and the most recurring villain in the series.

I think any other choices would feel forced. I kind of feel thing way for many of the franchises at hand, at least for the ones that are already established on the roster. There are three exceptions, Donkey Kong, Metroid, and Kid Icarus. Donkey Kong should get Dixie Kong and King K. Rool due to their strong recurring status in the Donkey Kong series as a whole, Ridley should get in because he is the most recurring and iconic bad guy in the franchise, and Palutena should get in because she's got the strong presence in both Kid Icarus and Super Smash Bros. Plus, all of them are popular choices among Super Smash Bros. fans.

While the Mario series has all the essentials, I don't think a newcomer is out the question. I think Bowser Jr. has become enough of a staple character to the series to warrant serious consideration. And, of course...I personally would like to see something from the RPG aspect. That being said, not seeing a new Mario at all character wouldn't be disappointing.
