A heavy boxer who has an unknown weight with appealing eyes would be very unique, and already fits Sakurai's criteria very well.
Yes, he is one of the overt choices. The stage already alludes to his inclusion, hence most people believe that he is the most likely newcomer (perhaps erroneously). However, he would be an effective reveal as most already expect his inclusion. It would be a great way to induce hype without revealing too much about the game. So I wouldn't be surprised if he was the next newcomer reveal.
He should be, but I'm expecting something of a more worldwide balanced popularity to be revealed before Little Mac. But among the next batch of 3? Definitely!
I'm pretty sure I'd play him over Mac, because he seems to have a certain appeal, especially because I love heavyweights. It's just that he'd be very odd.

I am associating Hippo with K. Rool for some reason, but I do like to play as larger characters like Bowser and Ganon. So he has an appeal, but I would much prefer that a franchise like F-Zero got another representative such as Samurai Goroh. It feels more rational.

I don't have a source, but there is a thread that does in the Smash Bros for Wii U thread. What the leakey 3 is a week before E3 someone on gamefaqs said Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Megaman, Little Mac, Pac Man and Mii were going to be in. No one really believed this until E3 when three of them were announced, because of this, the post became viral for Smash spectators.

In my opinion, Veterans and Newcomers are comparable. They might not always be the most effective comparisons, but it should be evaluated using a case-by-case inference. A comparison is not inherently fallacious just because they are not relate-able under standard circumstances.

I always thought it was a good term. The "leaky" 3, it honestly sounds better than the forbidden 7 despite what members were saying the other day. It is so much easier to allude to the leak with your method. Rather than stating the characters and correlating them to the leak. It is more trouble than necessary...Now everyone is using the term more.

I don't know much about Dark Matter; but speaking of bosses, what would Metroid's boss be if Ridley actually made it in? Kraid? That was something that I was always confused about. Or would the bosses simply be other characters in the game like Wolf vs. Fox/Falco as opposed to something like Andross with Yellow Devil(?) being an exception because Megaman is a 3rd party character? The other option that I can see is something similar to SSE with fan favorites like Porky being bosses, so potential playable characters that don't have move-sets (or the "too big" characters).Good Afternoon all, hope you're all doing well. Yeah, sometimes I get tired of saying Little Mac, Pac-Man, and Mii alot, it's honestly much easier to say leaky three now.
A safe roster for sure does not end the world my friend.
I agree with BluePikmin, that is actually one of the safest rosters I have ever laid my eyes upon. So it is difficult to find anything wrong with it. I have deluded myself into believing that trans-gendered Diddy will be a costume as opposed to a character.
Wouldn't there technically be 50 playable characters on his roster?
It's great, but I'm still not sold on the idea of Chrom becoming playable.
Oh, so that's what the whole deal was all about... Just a very, very lucky guy that guessed three characters out of the six he predicted...
I figure to see a new Fire Emblem character and I think Chrom is the most likely. Roy is pretty much out of the question.
I don't know, I honestly think that being in a recent game helps significantly in Fire Emblem and Pokémon.
Perhaps you're right on that, including transformations. That could be one valid reason. Unless there was an additional transformations for someone like say Mewtwo with only Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y playable and not normal Mewtwo.

Not to start a battle, but why is the more popular, more requested, more recurring, more unique, and more iconic Fire Emblem character out of the question?
It twas not a lucky guess, it was rather a list of characters he got from an unknown source a day before the E3 Direct began. Everyone should know this by now.
I think we'll get Mega Mewtwo Y due to the movie, and maybe Mega Lucario since he promoted the Mega Evolution in the game.
