I still think Ninten could easily be the Pichu to Ness. But I want to see "Teleport B" as a recovery instead of PK Thunder.

I like the idea of Ninten, I mean, Mother 2 crushes Mother 1 in almost every aspect.. But there's still something about Mother 1 I love that Mother 2 lacks, and I can't quite put my finger into what, exactly.

I like Ninten the most out of the three main characters, that's for sure. Not sure why.

I can sympathize with another DK. I'd like to see some more F-Zero love (and by that, I mean Samurai Goroh) before Mother as well.
And I just realised Star Fox hasn't had a NEW (non remake) game since Brawl came out, so maybe it's safe to say we'll be seeing no more Star Fox characters.
But yeah, DK, Metroid, and F-Zero. At least one of these should get a new character.

I'm not against Ninten's inclusion, but I think I'm slightly more pro Porky. But I feel F-Zero needs another character in either Goroh or Black Shadow before Mother gets a third.

I have a question,during the Brawl times...the roster was leaked?,I don't remember...and when? how many time before the release?

There was a list of all the characters leaked like a week before the Japanese release, however it was still debatable at that point despite coming from a pretty valid source iirc. Once the Japanese guys got their hands on the game it became clearer and clearer that it was the real stuff though, and the deal was sealed when R.O.B appeared. Didn't take too long for people to have the whole character roster either, they simply did SSE on day one, and on day two found Jiggs, Toon Link and Wolf.

But in all seriousness, the reason everyone thinks it's a problem is because F-Zero has had 6? games in the franchise, while Star Fox has had five games an three reps (unless you count SF643D, which is six.) But for me, the rep should be Samurai Goroh, Pico or Dr. Stewart, since they've been present in every game. Not Jody or Black Shadow, they're stupid fanfare.

Takamaru has a refined style of fighting and uses weapons other than a sword such as shuriken, lightning mines, fireballs, etc.

Goroh has a reckless hack n' slash style of fighting and relies mainly on his own brawn as well as his sword.

I would still go for Takamaru. Everytime there's a chance to make an unknown Nintendo IP more popular, I'll take it. And F-Zero's had its share of it.

Samurai Goroh is my Samurai of choice. He's been in more games. He's not from a dead franchise, he's more visually interesting to look at than a fairly generic looking Samurai. On a lesser note he's been in the Melee intro and if Ridley gets in and Wolf returns, I would be disappointed if Goroh wasn't at least considered, even if he didn't make the final roster.

I didn't even know Takamaru was a thing until returning to Smashboards. Okay I knew he was in Captain Rainbow, but I didn't rank him above any other obscure retro pick.

Hell, I don't remember anyone even suggesting him that much before Nintendoland released that minigame of his. Now he's everywhere. Like a more extreme version of Rosalina's sudden popularity surge this past week.

You may now lambast me for not getting Takamaru.

That's actually a tough decision.
If only one could be included, I'd probably edge towards supporting Goroh more since either he or Black Shadow should have been in Brawl.

King K. Rool would be a great rep, but Nintendo might want to promote the newer Donkey Kong characters. Dixie Kong imo has the most potential, plus we need more females.

I predict Dixie for different reasons. For starters, being a female will not influence your inclusion at all and neither will being a villian. I personally
think that because Dixie has had more appearances in the Nintendo universe, would be easier to program than King K. Rool, and would complete the trio of the three main kongs that she will get in over King K. Rool.

I really don't give a crap what your move set is, I care more who you are. But, in all honesty I can't really decide. I guess I'd pick Dixie.

Wasnt Dixie only in DKC 2 and 3? Where as King K. Rool was in (or at least variations of him) 1 2 3 and 64?

Also, adding K Rool instead of Dixie would recreate the 3 characters from the original DKC. 2 main characters plus the villain. Give us the pirate ship as a stage with dat music and that represents DK the best, IMO.

Or they could just give us both Dixie and K Rool. That would be swell.

There hasn't been a game since 2004. Almost a decade. Even Star Fox had that 3DS remake of SF64.
Aside from that, Ice Climber and Kid Icarus were "dead franchises" prior to Melee and Brawl (and Ice Climber still is).

-Sakurai has shown interest in Takamaru in the past.
-Takamaru support existed since pre-Brawl. It just wasn't as strong until post-Brawl (though considerably more than any other "retro" character that wasn't Little Mac), and really picked up after Samurai Warriors 3, which featured Takamaru as a guest character and a Murasame Castle mode that is a psuedo-remake of his game.

He's not a bandwagon of circumstance like Rosalina.

I will not lambast you, but I will say this:
I may support Goroh over Takamaru if only one can be included (even though Takamaru is more likely to show than Goroh), but the reasoning is flawed.

Counting from the DK Wiki, Dixie has had one more appearance than K. Rool in total, having 16 appearances against K. Rool's 15, TF included. However, many of Dixie's are Mario spin-offs or the likes, K. Rool has had more important roles than her for sure, especially in the DK franchise.

I like samurai A LOT, but if I could only pick one, I'd go with Takamaru. They'd (ideally) both have great, differing fighting styles, but I prefer Takamaru's more traditional look. I also think the plethora of other abilities he has would make him fun.

I feel like Ganondorf is going to be revealed.
