The one interesting thing about Kirby 3DS will be to see if Bandanna Dee is here to stay as a major Kirby character, or whether Return to Dream Land is going to be his sole major game (like was the case with Kirby 64 and Adeline).

Sonic was revealed a week after Toon Link.

I still don't find it highly likely, but the possibility is still there.

Personally, I'm hoping for a second trailer, much like how Brawl had a second trailer in December. (very unlikely, though)
Speaking of which, it's odd how they never used the main theme arrangement from that trailer in the final game...

It's gonna be a clone, I'm still betting on it. Falco already has had some changes in Brawl (I don't think he needs a moveset change), it should be a simple copy and paste.

I can almost guarantee that we will get a second trailer. I am 99% sure. Smash is their console seller, Smash was the big news at E3 (well Nintendo Direct). It would be erroneous to not promote the game further within reason. Daily pictures that only dedicated fans check everyday do not cut it. A second trailer would suffice. Second trailers are actually become fairly standard in the industry, well at least for big releases.

What if... stay with me now, the reveal... was a clone... like Roy?! (Haha, not going to happen, it would be pretty cool though).

There is A LOT of anniversaries and releases next week to coincide with a newcomer/veteran:

Releases:
Super Mario 3D World (Toad)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (Zelda)

Anniversaries:
Diddy Kong (Donkey Kong Country 2 anniversary)
Captain Falcon (F-Zero anniversary)
Little Mac (Punch-Out anniversary)

I am very skeptical on a newcomer happening, but I do think next week would be a good time to confirm the Captain.

Now I am getting excited. I wouldn't mind any one of those characters.

I was referring to Roy prior to Melee. And your point wasn't that Chrom wouldn't be added for advertising, but rather that Roy was and it's thus okay to do the same with Chrom. Both points of which are false.

You shouldn't say one thing and then say your point was something completely different.

Yes Roy was added because Sakurai felt his ability to use fire would make him a good Marth clone, but he was also added to advertise FE6. however since Sakurai tried to bring Roy into Brawl he must see him more as an advertisement. I wouldn't be surprised if he has thought about adding Roy in Smash 4 since he seems to be trying to bring back Mewtwo as well.

It wouldn't suprise me. Sakurai saw the Brawl roster as perfectly feasible (I agree to, as it had everyone necessary with the exception of Mewtwo, Mega Man, and Bomberman.) It would make sense for him to add what he originally planned to have in the last one. Not saying this will get Roy in.

We're just making the prediction based on the fact that we've seen Luigi and Sonic get revealed in Directs before, and I think it would make a lot of sense to show Zelda or something. I think if we get Zelda though, that that would be it for the month, and I wouldn't necessarily mind that.

I just am hoping that next month we get newcomers in the end of year of Nintendo Direct, which will likely be taking a look at 2014 releases, which obviously includes Smash Bros.

We have a direct coming up soon? I didn't know that. I suppose something could show up at some point then. Though I personally wouldn't get my hopes too high. Maybe for the end of the year one, we get one or two newcomers if we're lucky.

From the Newcomer side, I'm crossing my fingers to either Little Mac or Saki due to their anniversaries. :3

From the veteran anniversary side, Captain Falcon makes sense to me.

Well I am not so sure, Ridley seems like he has always been a pretty necessary character. Not to mention Villager as well (even though at the time Sakurai didn't want him in the game, it doesn't alter the notion that he was a necessary). Meowth, perhaps? He still has a prevalent role as the primary antagonist of Pokemon (anime of course, which is where Sora Ltd. draws inspiration from). Not to mention the roster had a lot of unnecessary characters too. Lucas and Game and Watch really jump out to me. I think the roster needs cleaning up personally.

Some honorable mentions missing are Waluigi (controversial, but he is a symbol of party games and the final brother), Tingle, Waddle Dee, Samurai Goroh, and K. Rool. Obviously once we apply hindsight we are also missing Toad, Bowser Jr., Palutena, and Little Mac.

My main point being, feasible is subjective. There are still a lot of necessary Nintendo icons missing or characters overlooked by Sakurai that are already in the game (Such as Waluigi, Tingle, or Goroh). No doubt Brawl's roster was fantastic, but it wasn't perfect. Obviously we cant fit in Bowser Jr., Waluigi, and Toad despite their importance to Mario. Same with Tingle. Goroh and Porky are from dead series. So the omissions are understandable and expected. It doesn't mean that the roster is everything that it COULD be.
