As for a fighting game character... Well due of my unhealthy obsession of Skullgirls, I feel obligated to say Filia or Squigly.

Scenario: Sakurai loves all third parties he currently has, including Megaman and Pac-Man, he wants to work on one more third party, logically it would be Professor Layton since he has interest to the character in many interviews.

Five 3rd parties? Without repeating companies, I'd choose:

Sonic, Megaman, Pacman, Simon Belmont, Crono.


But more realistically, it would go like:

Sonic, Megaman, Pacman, Snake, Chocobo / Black/White Mage / Ninja / Warriors of Light (4-in-1 FF job classes)
Which wouldn't be too bad, IMO. I would actually love a party of 4 FF characters as a single character somehow. Maybe a "turn-based system" where once you perform a special move, your character is swapped for the next (for yall Pokemon Trainer hataz):warioc:

Improbable, but not impossible. I'd probably be ok with it depending on who they choose. I'd personally wouldn't mind another Konami character along with Snake. Or another Capcom character along with Megaman(or hell, another Megaman character altogether). Though I can't think of many third party characters that are all around really, really bad choices.

Assuming we can get 2 characters from the same company, replace Pacman with Goemon :)

Prince Sable. Someone who could turn into an animal could work out well. Though I can't remember if his game ever came stateside. Lip would be my second choice. I'd want to see another take on a puzzle game character.

@TumblrFamous, Eh...well to be fair not many of us think those characters would happen in a hundred years anyway.

Bubbles from Clu Clu Land. I'd actually love to see her playable, or to the very least a Clu Clu Land stage.
