Tie-breaking here in favor of Takamaru...not that I particularly care for him, but he's the worthiest of that list of 'candidates' IMO.

Well, we've had absolutely no reason to expect Direct reveals during either of the two previous Directs, and yet, we've gotten Luigi and Sonic. Thus, I'll be cautiously expecting someone like Yoshi or Meta Knight to follow tomorrow, albeit getting primarily 3DS focus during their debut.

And one more thing, should he have partners? Or should Paper Mario be by himself? I personally prefer the latter, but I know a few people that like the idea of switching characters to help him fight.

The tube is a cool idea. Maybe you could do the flip for his side dodge as well.

Partners...partners...I like the partners idea, but for Paper Mario's moveset, I've been most in favor of him using the Pixls for the partner idea.

Paper Mario should use the tube roll in some capacity (roll works) as well as the paper plane (glide) and even perhaps standing sideways (sidestep).

I absolutely think he should have partners.
1. It is a large part of Paper Mario.
2. The partners do represent creatures of the Mushroom Kingdom.
3. Could be a very interesting mechanic (special ability switching)

I would only want a Paper Mario that uses partners or I might feel that the slot could of been used for some other character.

I would have originally probably said Muddy Mole or Mach Rider, but I've found that Lip has quickly become my favorite candidate (Muddy still is a close second though).

As far as I see it she's still behind Paper Mario, Bowser Jr. and Toad. She's likely an unlockable character (as Reggie seemed to hint) and she isn't being used to promote the game either. She still doesn't have too good of a shot.

It seems to me that Sakurai would rather represent Toad as Peach's servant rather than his own character. If Toad was more interesting of a character that may not have been the case.

Or perhaps because there's no need to replace FLUDD with a glorified version of the move that was already replaced?

Does this reveal render Rosalina worthy of discussion? Yeah, she's now no longer in the Funky Kong territory of being a cool side character who go-karts. Does this reveal single-handedly skyrocket Rosalina in front of characters with resumes many times the size of hers? Hell no. If anything, maybe we'll finally get that Rosalina Assist Trophy that was said to be in all of Brawl's playable demos (along with Duster and Sothe), but never made it into the final game.
