Are we going to go over this again?
I'm gonna say this one more time:
The Dog can laugh, Diskun can not.
The Dog can not use all NES Peripherals or represent Famicom games other than Duck Hunt.
They would be quite different, and can both work.

Honesty > making folks feel good.

Neither can work. The Duck Hunt Dog just has one more move (1) than Diskun's zero.

That's like saying we can have an N64 logo throw Golden bananas, swing a master sword, or fly with the wing-cap.
Diskun is a character. Those are not characters. Try again.

So because it happens to be a logo, without a history of ever actually doing anything
Not doing anything? Like starring in HIS OWN GAME!? Try again, and next time do your research!

Diskun automatically is personally attached to all the moves in all the games?
Disks copy data from Famicom games and he's the mascot for the whole system. So it makes perfect sense.

At least Duck Hunt Dog has one thing going for him, for sure: a taunt.
Totally beats being a mascot for a Nintendo console

I suppose next you are going to try to tell me Diskun can't move. Well guess what?:

The people who try to make points against Diskun are about as skilled as the people who try to say Ridley is too big. They never learn. At least a Ridley is too big debate would less sad to look at.

Janken Disk Jo. He doesn't do anything, just moves a little bit. The n64 logo can move. And let me guess, he also touches things sometimes to activate switches? Hardly anything.

Disks copy data from Famicom games and he's the mascot for the whole system. So it makes perfect sense.
But he is not the whole system. He is the logo. Opt for the system as a playable character instead ,which actually has something to do with the games and actually does something, unlike Diskun.

Totally beats being a mascot for a Nintendo console
Diskun deserves to be mentioned more than the Duck Hunt Dog. Duck Hunt Dog has much more playability than Diskun.

I suppose next you are going to try to tell me Diskun can't move. Well guess what?:

I'm not too fond of Diskun, but I have to say the idea of a playable Diskun is certainly much more reasonable than the N64 logo being playable.

EDIT: Since when can the N64 logo move???

Marth, Roy, Lip, Takamaru, Saki, Diskun, Sukapon, etc... I swear to god, we could have a big chunk of the roster being composed of strictly Japanese speaking fighters. :p

Dk64 opening, and the opening of some Conker game.

I'd also like to note that I agree with Diskun having a better chance than N64 logo. Certainly much more reasonable.

And BK's intro.
But other than wobbling around like a block of jello, the logo doesn't do anything else other than... well, being a logo.

EDIT: Besides, the only times it was actually shown to move at all was in RAREWARE games. Them copyrights, man. :troll:

Because EVERYONE wants DHD.
Seriously, just put an end to this argument.
Noah needs to drop it... I merely wished EddyBearr good luck for arguing against Diskun when Noah is around... Noah started ranting and screaming like a Puritan woman accused of witchcraft yelling "LIES! LIES! THEY ARE ALL LIES!!!!" :troll:

Implying that Fox & Captain Falcon had moves.

I'm talking about the N64 logo.
Which is not a character. Diskun is. Also N64 Logo is a logo, not a mascot. I thought Divine Deity was the only person dumb enough to make the comparison. Guess I was wrong.

And what does ROB do? Turn slowly? What does Dr. Mario do? Throw Pills? He solved puzzles like Dr. Mario. That's hardly anything, guess they can't be in Smash.............oh, wait!

You're point is invalid, sir.

Why does that matter? Also he's the mascot, big difference.

I already told you Diskun does many things and I already told you what can be added to his move set. If you can't accept that fact I have no reason to argue with you.

Duck Hunt Dog has much more playability than Diskun.
How? All he ever did was laugh at you. Diskun played Ping Pong, solved puzzles, and can use all the Famicom stuff.

So can the N64 logo.
So can a car, but it's not a character is it? Please, EddyBear. Please tell me you're not this naive.

Can't wait to see Saturn turn this post into a a pile of rubbish.

EDIT: Nevermind, he already did :p
Ha, I beat you to it!

You'll never accept being wrong about Diskun will you? Well, I'll go find Divine Deity's Trophy and hand it over to you. You've earned it :troll:

You passed that a LOOOOOOONG time ago.

The problem is, Toad's roles in those games could just as easily be filled by anything else. The only thing toad does in these games is "jump, move, and use items." None of these translate into Toad as a smash fighter.

On the contrary, I'd say that since even Toad was able to use the items in these new mario games, then these items in these new mario games are great additions to Smash, since anyone can use them.
I'm not sure how jumping, running and using items is a bad thing when Mario and Luigi have been doing that for over several decades now. To use that point alone to lump Toad into the category of Tingle and Tom Nook is a little disingenuous. 3D World separates Toad from the rest of the Mario gang by emphasizing his mobility and strength, which are attributes easily translatable and separate him from the other characters so he doesn't feel like a rehash of a trope we've seen before. Perhaps I do not understand the problem? Items? Hard for me to hold that against him since any item-based moves would likely be his special attacks, and those are such a tiny portion compared to the moveset of a character.
Four games... ;)

Super Mario Bros. 2
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
New Super Mario Bros. U
Super Mario 3D World

That said, it is unlikely that Mario and Luigi are going to start throwing iceballs and flying with propeller blocks and whatnot... so why not Toad use the power-ups as specials that Mario, Luigi, and Peach are not going to use in Smash? I always liked the idea of Toad using different mushrooms from several Mario games as part of his moveset... a mushroom retainer using mushrooms to fight... :awesome:
I was going for games released -- or soon to be released -- in the past decade. And if you're going back that far, how did you miss Wario's Woods? Overall I wouldn't imagine Toad making use of more than possibly the Ice Flower and his bombs. Still, I'd prefer Paper Mario just because that entire series needs much more love than it has received.

Crap! I forgot about Wario's Woods... but of course, I was only counting the main games.

I never thought I'd miss having discussions about Dr. Kawashima and Hanafuda characters. Now I do. Desperately.
Let's discuss franchises that actually has a chance of getting characters but let's not discuss Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Mario, and Zelda... let's give the retro/history/WTF character discussion a break... that includes Dr. Kawashima and Hanafuda characters as well.

It's nothing "bad," but the problem is that it's not unique.

Let me put it this way.. We'll go with Mario.

Mario's specials, we all understand. Look at his jab-combo. That's the jab combo from SM64. Look at his down smash. It's from SM64. His dash attack is his dash attack" from SM64. All these are unique to Mario.

But now let's look at Toad. Toad could ride in a go-kart, but so could Mario, a Koopa Troopa, or Baby Luigi. This isn't special to Toad.
Toad could use an item, but so can anyone.
Toad can use "Spores," but there's no history, outside of as Peach's special, of Toad using spores to fight. There's no evidence Toad has much control over what spores do once released. There's just almost no personal moveset potential for Toad.

Implying that Fox & Captain Falcon had moves.
Star Fox 64 had a "ground mode" for versus mode, which included the laser. Plus, Star Fox 64 was such a big game, that not having Fox playable in Smash 64 would've been quite depressing. Sometimes improvision is necessary when a character is necessary.

Captain Falcon didn't have moves, truth. Falcon was a surprise.

Which is not a character. Diskun is. Also N64 Logo is a logo, not a mascot. I thought Divine Deity was the only person dumb enough to make the comparison. Guess I was wrong.
It's not that different. It's something that's supposed to represent something else. Nice ad hominem, btw.

And what does ROB do? Turn slowly? What does Dr. Mario do? Throw Pills? He solved puzzles like Dr. Mario. That's hardly anything, guess they can't be in Smash.............oh, wait!
I've expressed doubts of R.O.B. returning for this reason.
Dr. Mario was a Mario clone, so he got Mario moves. Pretty simple. It's not like he's a totally different character, he's very clearly still Mario.

Why does that matter? Also he's the mascot, big difference.
Apart from the word, what's so different? Lol. Yes, it's true a mascot can be far more capable than a logo, as per McDonald's and Ronald McDonald, but that's not so much the case with Diskun. Diskun's capabilities are extraordinarily basic.

already told you Diskun does many things and I already told you what can be added to his move set. If you can't accept that fact I have no reason to argue with you.
Again, it's like arguing that the N64 logo can use a master sword. Or if you want characters, like arguing that a Deku Baba can use the master sword. There's no evidence of Diskun himself actually doing anything.

How? All he ever did was laugh at you. Diskun played Ping Pong, solved puzzles, and can use all the Famicom stuff.
Anything that can hold a paddle can play ping pong, anything with any ability to move ever so slightly can solve puzzles, and your entire argument for him using "all the famicom stuff" is because he's related to something that can play games. Diskun didn't do this.

So can a car, but it's not a character is it? Please, EddyBear. Please tell me you're not this naive.
Nope, not a character. I've said before than Diskun has more potential than the n64 logo, but only due to being ever so slightly more dextruous.

Diskun is not the FDS. Diskun did not copy information. Diskun didn't do anything the FDS did, all that Diskun did was look cute as merchandise and walk around/other basis movements in a game. In the same way, Tom Nook is not a Tanooki, so Tom Nook having Tanooki powers would be absurd. It has nothing to do with Tom Nook, apart from a connection of both being "raccoons."

Nothing Diskun has done is unique.
