I'm expecting a lot of tears, because it's pretty much a guarantee that something will not settle with people.

Ray... Micaiah... two new F-Zero characters.... 54 slots... you're setting yourself up for disappointment. This is what i'm expecting...somewhat.

Medusa can easily be replaced with Saki, Andy or Dillon.
Really good roster here (even if its unrealistic). A few characters I'd rather not see, but I'm more than satisfied with the additions. This is what i'm expecting...somewhat.

Haha! It's more so a character pool I'd love to see. Unrealistic, yes.Ray... Micaiah... two new F-Zero characters.... 54 slots... you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
Medusa and Krystal are also pretty unlikely. As are Andy and Dillon.
I like moon monkey

btw what was that last roster, the image didn't seem to work on Wii U
Patricia Wagon MIGHT have a good chance then.I could see Dillon being a perfectly good candidate, more so then people take for granted. I mean, there is no rule that states that an eShop character is impossible or anything, especially one that has actual popularity.
Except she's not a Nintendo character.Patricia Wagon might have a good chance then.
Yeah, I know. But Mighty switch force is a really popular eShop game.Except she's not a Nintendo character.
A couple averagely popular (in the west) eShop appearances aren't going to put her in the same league as the third-parties with an actual chance.Yeah, I know. But Mighty switch force is a really popular eShop game.

Her only chance is if Nintendo bought WayForward (and she continued to get games). Even then, Shantae would get in first...
Waluigi. Duh.So what npc would you want the most IN STORY MODE
An Animal Crossing character. Maybe Tom Nook as a shop keeper? So what npc would you want the most IN STORY MODE
Well, usually the Mighty series gets a new protagonist every time. The only reason Patricia is sticking around is because of the sequel. Eventually they'll probably change protagonists again, so there's no clear Mighty rep. Plus Shantae has a lot more popularity, and is also getting another game, but it depends how many games she gets in the future as well. This is all hypothetical of course, WayForward won't get a rep unless they're part of Nintendo or one of their IPs somehow explodes., but true. Even if Mighty Switch Force went on to make a dozen more titles over the next decade, you still think Shantae would get in? Idk I'll have to wait and see how time treats both titles... I can see Nintendo buying Wayforward too.
Which is why Sakurai will need to change things up eventually. Honestly after SSB4 is probably the best time, but if need be a SSB5 under the same sort of guidelines is... possible... before absolutely scraping the bottom of the barrel. But Smash can hardly go on forever like this. It's going to be interesting for SSB5, and when I say interesting I mean pretty lackluster. Most of the characters left (Assuming they don't get in through DLC) will be these niche characters only a handful of people would know about.
Tingle is kinda a must.So what npc would you want the most IN STORY MODE

Yep, Roy as a Non-Playable Character would be a wonderful idea
Patricia could very well be the Marth of her series, but yeah it's all hypothetical.Well, usually the Mighty series gets a new protagonist every time. It's funny because he literally sucks up things in some games.Link should be an NPC. He's sucked in every game he's in.
Hey, I'm not doubting that, and don't think I'll ever stop speculating about or supporting the series. At that point the speculation will turn completely from "I want X character" to "I wonder how X character is going to change" or "I wonder how they're going to change Y gameplay element."SSB5 will still be interesting even without any new characters. I have said this a handful of times in the past, but characters are not everything.
Just add more cameos.People will always want more characters. I'm sure the amount will lessen and lessen with time however.
People will still want them playable.Just add more cameos.
It's kinda funny just how many characters are better suited for NPC/Cameo roles. Can't say I agree with all the one's you've listed here, but I'm not interested in a debate over 1 or 2 characters.Medusa makes a sick NPC boss. Personally, I wanna see HD versions of a bunch of characters around as NPC's in story mode.
Maybe we see Black Shadow and Shadow racing one another in the background of an F-Zero level, or Anthony Higgs blasting away at Kracko. Krystal, and Jody Summers washing their ships at a ship dock, or Lyn and Masked Man dualing in the background. Funky Kong, Tom Nook and Tingle could be shop keepers. Medusa could be leading armies against Saki, Matthew, Reyn, and Caeda. Chibi-Robo, Jill Dozer, and Ray MK could be consulting with Bowser Junior about Mech mechanics. Waluigi and Skull kid could be up to mischief, and you could see Kamek, Micaiah and Ashley swapping spells. Mona and Mach Rider could be vehicle upgrade specialists, and Nurse Joy can run an Inn.
Wait do you mean actual characters or just the amount of characters who appear on the select screen? Transformation/Switching characters make things so confusing.I don't see this game getting more than 50 slots. Fewer is probably more likely.
