Well, it could be a possibility to see Tom Nook or Mr. Resetti if that was the case if the human character was inappropriate for a fighting game. Though at the same time, I thought the human character was the one that was refereed with the whole "bug net and shovel" back peddle thing.

I acknowledged that.

On the Animal Crossing issue, I know Sakurai said that characters like the human players would not be playable if it doesn't make sense for them to fight (though would later say it is possible to make them fight armed with a bug net and shovel)-

Though at the same time, he could easily see no point in doing so, as in the same paragraph he mentions it, he mentions that they strayed far from Smash's image. So it's the Ridley issue all over again; we don't know which side he'll turn to.
But at least (as long as he has not mentioned anything about the series as a whole) there are two other viable options if he swings towards the Villager still straying too far from Smash's image side.
