if a wii is running melee, and a gamecube is running melee, what difference does that make to the monitors?

I have no idea, that's just what I noticed. Same monitor model, but the gamecube seemed to be running the game at a lower resolution. Also, I heard someone say the delay was worse on their set up than on mine, and they were using a gamecube.

Monitors were fine. I feel like some setups ran smoother than others but that could have been due to the whole 60hz- 50hz option most new players are unaware of.

Honestly though, I had no johns about the monitors and they are definitely good enough for tournaments.

Oh man I'd love if some of you guys were playing on 50hz and didn't realise it.
50hz is Fsmash crew home territory

alrighty, the facebook event for the second tournament is up!

https://www.facebook.com/events/523974961058195/

so you can enter either the brawl or melee comp.. or both. melee will be 32 man, brawl will be 16 man.
If you don't want to enter the comp, come along anyway and play some friendlies or spectate.
should be dope

shoutouts to billy for playing super smart and generally outplaying me hard, much confidence, such intelligent
shoutouts to skeletom for comboing me nicely but not edgeguarding well enough
shoutouts to redact for finding my old controller (90% sure!)

cody's a bit scary too, hope he doesn't get more technical and/or better at reads, can't even really switch to peach against samus so I'd be pretty boned
ahh whatever I'll just rig bracket so we don't ever verse

Thanks to all of you for coming, bringing setups and making it such a good night, I'm so happy that this is becoming a thing. The turnout and level of skill was just awesome to see.
Brawl was a bit of a fart, so I don't think I'll include a brawl tourney in the near future, however the next will include 32 man Melee and 32 man Project M.

Here's the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1410560462563096/

I'm thinking i'll book 2 rooms for the next one. There are two rooms adjacent to one another with a connecting door, so Melee can happen in one and Project M in the other.
You can enter both tourneys this time, however those entering only 1 will get priority. (for example, if the bracket fills and someone wants to enter PM only, the last person to enter both that prefers to be in melee will give up their PM place)

If this 2 rooms deal goes ahead I'll need someone (or a few people) to help out with organising, money collecting and all that jazz. If you're happy to help let me know :))))))

Here are the results for yesterday's tournament.

They're probably not on here but shoutouts to the guys from RMIT i got talking to.

Especially Josiah and the dude with the bridge piercing (forgot your name, sorry) who somehow, after only a month of playing, knows the frame differences between fox and falco's jump.

Thanks for hosting, had a great time and had some of the best sets I've ever had.

@ PrettyCoolGuy PrettyCoolGuy : Holy. ****. GG man, single best set of my life.

Tom Duncan: For my first Peach ditto, it sure was intense. I mean, legit sweat-dripping-off-my-face intense. I thought I was screwed after game 2.

@ Hobs_ Hobs_ : First time we got to play in tournament. You're getting good man, just need to stop with the pill spamming.

@Jei Jei: Wrecked me again. I just can't handle that Yoshi.

@ The 4 sheiks I fought in tournament, stop playing Sheik and let me have some freaking variety ffs.
